I was a bit skeptical about buying Weather Shield because I read it a couple of poor reviews, but I saw their new Next Generation Door and loved it. It is so cool. I also found out they quit making their own glass and are working with Cardinal glass call just like Anderson and Marvin windows. My windows and door look amazing, and they were 20% less than Marvin with a better warranty.
Absolutely awful product and even worse customer service. Windows have broken their seals and are foggy and sweaty. Doors are leaky and the custom wood trim is stained and ruined. When you file a warranty claim they will stall and stall until your warranty expires and then charge you for replacements. I spent 40 grand on garbage. AVOID

Weather Shield Windows has a good quality reputation, so we purchased a double-hung window, a sliding door, and a Bi-Fold window. We really like the window over the sink for parties and entertaining. We did have one issue but Jim from service at Window Visions took care of it for us, but the quality was great.

Had a slight leak on the new conservatory roof but they were most helpful and apologetic and had it sorted very quickly, good value for money and the installers left no mess and were friendly and helpful, I would have no hesitation is using them again

Weather Shield does not deserve even 1 star. Buy these windows only if you want to replace them within 15-20 years. The seals break and cloud up. We've had to replace every window that gets any sunlight.
Their customer service sucks and they tell you, "sorry your warranty is up, we can't help you". I've purchased much cheaper windows that last much longer for a fraction of the price. Please save your money and go elsewhere.
Very glad we chose Weather Shield. We were skeptical because of the other reviews on this site, but 3 years later and everything is great. Our neighbors started getting Weather Shield Windows too. I guess the installer is what matters. We had one handle break last week and our contractor came to fix it the next day. No other issues at all. Great products.
I would love to take hardware and patio doors and screens and throw them through Western Building Supply, Albuquerque, NM window or dump them on the roof. A terrible product and have been nothing but frustrating and costly over the years. These were not inexpensive doors. I will continue to be disappointed and dissatisfied until they are replaced with a better product. I am so very sorry I listened to the sales representative at the time of purchase. I would rate this product minus 1 star if it was possible.

Problem w/ a 4 panel patio door w/ 40 separate glass panes/ 4 of which have failed across 3 panels.
'We don't make that style any more and don't have anyone to repair it or even come out on a paid service call to see it." Nothing to do but replace. I WILL NOT order a replacement Weather Shield door. I will order w/ a company that has a customer friendly service motto. This door has been in place for 23 years.

Looking through this page I see that I should have read the reviews instead of listening to a sales guy. I bought 20 windows from this company and most of them are going to have to be replaced. I have a lot of quality problems, miss matched finishes, incorrect size, etc. Just do yourself a favor and don't purchase these windows, even if you are flipping a house, it is not worth the headache.
I made a you tube video documenting my issues. I have been ignored by WS and my supplier has not been much help either. It is devastating to loose so much money on a garbage product.

I purchased (2) 72" x 60" aluminum clad sliders manufactured by Weather Shield. Both panels operate, so they required a insect screen approximately the full size of the unit (29sq').
The screens sent with the unit are industry standard construction according to Jeffrey Fitzgerald (SoCal Territory Manager). That is a great but my screens are really big and he nor owner Mark Shield will acknowledge that fact. The extrusion used on screen doors including Weather Shield are 1 1/4" -
1 3/4" industry wide even by the vinyl window company's. This being said, my screens are larger than most screen doors and they are only 1/2" frames. I feel poor judgment was made on the part of Weather Shield i. E., Jeffrey Fitzgerald, Mark Shield, to not make a poor design right. The screens are flimsy and already bent from falling out of the frame. I feel customer service is poor when you need to cc the boss to get any communication started. Good luck with your team Mr Shield and I won't be endorsing your product anytime soon.
P.S. I'm getting tired of spraying silicone on the track so the panels will slide.
Regards,
Vince Flores
If you want expensive door frames that look like this then order from this company. But don't expect them to do the right thing.
Major leakage in supposedly what we were told has been "once in a lifetime event." In less than four years, windows leaked multiple times. The supposed "20-year warranty" is useless. We still have to pay for the service call and all we are told is that there is nothing wrong, and they may spray some cheap sealant on it. Don't purchase these windows.
I bought a French door from Weather Shield with no hardware.
I contacted them and asked if they will be able to help me to find hardware but the only I got was;
The glass code will start with an L P or M and be followed by 15 numbers
Example - L**************
But I do not have any code who started by L...
I gave up and will never buy anything from them.
Ordered 23 double hung windows and three doors. Window lite profile was not what I was shown at time of order. When I contacted distributor, they said that WeatherShield had the right to change even though I was required to pre-pay. In order to stay on schedule with contractors we needed to install these and wait for WS to respond. After no response we took them to court and they settled at a discount. I really wish that I had them all removed and went with a different brand (like P... A). Several issues are creeping up. Broken springs so they won't stay up, fogging, and shrunk felt strip at the base allowing bugs and wind to enter the house. Hardware lost it's finish within a few months and looks pitted. WS said that window cleaner will do that!. We hadn't yet cleaned the windows, but that's not the point if the hardware won't hold up to window cleaner. WS replaced a couple windows that had defects like stuff between the glass and miss-aligned divided lites. And guess what? The replacements were the profile I had wanted in the first place, supposedly no longer being manufactured. My distributor has ignored me and now WS as well. These people are liars and cheats. I can't help but look at these 23 windows and feel like I was so stupid for not choosing another familiar brand. Our architect recommended WS.
Dan, Jon and Dalton are exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable and willing to share their expertise! The quality of the windows exceeded other brands! The window trim fit very well, installation was a breeze! Thank you Weathershield! Dan
Purchased 22 windows for our new build. Immediately had problems with broken seals and rollers. Windows won't shut, won't lock or won't raise up. Our supplier has reached out to WS numerous times with no response at all. Considering a lawsuit. Avoid these guys.

I have wondered if I should update my original review. Wonder no more. Probably the worst company ever. Years later, WS is nothing to do business with.
How come I can't give 0 stars? This mob is a sham. 17 windows and 3 sliders. Never performed well. And the warranty is useless and WS uses a warranty claim as their opportunity to sell you more junk through their "inside sales" dept. "Well we gave you a twenty year warranty, but it has been 16 years. We will discount new parts 50%." Apparently, WS thinks we are supposed to remanufacture their door. No contractor will touch it. It is either under warranty or not. Evidently, "not" per WS misrepresentations. They don't even have a warranty dept...
Am currently preparing lawsuit. I see they have faced numerous lawsuits, including class actions. Well founded as it is their custom and practice not to honor the warranties that they wrote (adhesion contract and illusory). That is classified as fraud subject to punitive damages.
Good value and cool product? Look at the pic.

I used to install and repair Weather Shield windows for its second largest distributor. They used to be really quality windows (metal ones NOT the vinyl ones). Since COVID (2019) they have had very poor quality control. I have no idea what is going on with this company, but STAY AWAY unless you want problem after problem... the gaskets are a major problem. Direct sun exposure is a recipe for disaster. And if you have the vinyl ones they warp and buckle with direct sun exposure. Buyers be ware! They are in a lot of new homes around Bozeman, MT and they are junk for the price!
Originally bought all Weathershield windows and doors when we built our house. Added on a few years later and, again, used all WS.
Then windows started to fail. Have had to replace numerous windows with hardware issues, loss of gas, etc.
The capper was when I called to order yet another set of sashes I got a "small order" charge. When I questioned it, they said they added that to all homeowner sales. In other words, if you are a loyal customer and used the Weathershield product, you get an uncharge for replacing their faulty equipment.
They held me hostage once, but never again will I buy a Weathershild product.
Tip for consumers:
Never buy Weathershield.

As a builder I was given an extended warranty for the Weather Shield windows I installed in my personal residence. It stated that they would replace or repair any defects including seal failures as long as I owned and resided in the home. I submitted a claim for seal failures and they are refusing to honor the warranty.

I bought a composite door from them to replace the plastic one I had. Immediately starting making cracking noises when warming or cooling Noise from street as if door is open.!. Told nothing wrong with door and I should buy a porch to stop the noise.!
Had bought their windows to replace my glazing … the whole house now so noisy I get woken up on refuse collection day at 6am. I hear ever car door shutting and get no peace from the noise.
This time told … it ‘My FAULT' …! I was apparently sold the highest quality glass to stop heat loss. BUT if I wanted to stop the noise I should have ordered and paid for one of their other types of glass which was more expensive!
They can fix the problem but I will have to pay for secondary glazing to be fitted inside the glazing I've just bought …., (You can't make this up) …
I don't live in a noisy street, I paid for glazing I was told would stop the street noise and a door at nearly £2000 that was supposed to stop outside noise. Non of it does what I paid for and the rude comments blaming me and telling me to pay them for more products from them to cover what I have is absolutely disgusting.
They have ruined my house and my peace of mind..

Weather Shield Windows and Doors is by far my favorite company to work with. I recently purchased new windows for my kitchen. The sales rep was excellent to work with as he was friendly and informative. The windows look beautiful inside and out. Couldn't be happier with the quality and expertise of this company!

Unbelievably bad workmanship and they have no interest resolving any issues. They are good at blaming others for their poor workmanship.
Our contractor installed weather shield vinyl windows throughout our house in a 2005 remodel. Most are typical/vertical sliding windows. Master bath has casement windows with a crank to open them. We had significant problems with both. The casement windows will not latch/lock. They're barely used at all. The sliders in our bedroom broke. The the valence wheels somehow broke thru the side of the window. We submitted a warranty claim. We are within the 20 year warranty period. Weather shield denied the claim saying our windows were "misused and abused". Needless to say we were shocked. We have central air so these windows are used infrequently, let alone abused. They also wouldn't explain their decision/process or allow me to speak to a superior. I can only conclude I will never use weather shield again.
