I've had an account with Vudu for many years. I've loved the ability to add physical titles with digital codes to my library. Except, there's a HUGE issue with Vudu. Apparently they expect me to keep all my physical receipts for every purchase, who does that? Also, many of my movies have been removed and the only explanation I get from Vudu is that my email doesn't match the purchase. I have 4 emails, so, which one am I supposedly going to remember goes where? My other big complaint is... as a customer who has over 160 mpbs streaming speed I constantly have buffering/streaming issues watch my content. It doesn't matter the time of day, week or weekend, every browser I've tried has the same issue. I use a number of streaming services, even Amazon is better at streaming!
I have been a customer for a very long time, spent loads of money with them because I realized kids and dvd's do not last very long. I have never had a problem with their service. I have had to contact their customer service once because I accidentally bought something I didn't want and the promptly refunded the money because I did not watch it. Sounds to me some people pay and try to abuse it trying to get free movies and crap and giving a bad post. They allow you to choose 5 friends and share your video collections with them, it's like loaning your DVD out but actually getting it back in great condition and you can still watch it, also the added feature you can rent instead of buy! I love vudu and will never change.
Vudu is horrible, movies always have problems no matter what kind of equipment and internet speed... I always have trouble after a digital download doesn't work, they want you to email them receipts, copies of the movie, and the Vudu code which often doesn't work. Sometimes it takes days to weeks to get the problems worked out, they simply want you to forget about your purchases and go on with your life. I promise to only watch the movies I already have in my library, if a movie has Vudu on it, I don't want it!
I have superfast internet that works wonderfully on every other app/ movie/ stream/ etc. but whenever I watch movies on vudu, it's constant lagging, sound going in and out, and if I need to rewind or fast forward... forget it. It will "load" for 40 minutes. I'm going to go back to buyingon amazon prime.
Vudu is just bad. Several friends and myself, 22 in all, signed up with free Vudu movie coupons received with Walmart pizza. Vudu charged every card even those those who had not downloaded a movie. We all cancelled the service. Our attorney suggested suing in order to get everyones money back.
I bought a movie through Vudu that was supposed to include a DVD, Blu-ray, and a T-shirt. I got the digital copy from only. When I contacted them, they told me I clicked on the wrong option, even though it clearly stated that all this was included and they refused to honor their offer. This was after they told me they never had this offer in the first place. On top of them falsely advertising, 1/2 the time, I cannot access my library.
I rented a movie and I only watched the first 30 minutes of it and fell asleep. The next day I worked 14 hours and was exhausted when I got home. I went to bed shortly after I got home to get up 4 to do it all over again. I get home at 6 and go to watch the rest of the movie and I can't. I call customer service and they said oh well, you can rent it again or buy it. Don't waste your money on them.
Customer Service is terrible! I found them to be rude. I guess after dealing with Amazon all the other services kind of looks disappointing. It just shows why Amazon is so big in the current world. They Value their customers. I guess I got spoiled. Anyway, very disappointing customer service from Vudu.
I have been using Vudu for at least five years. I've never had a single problem with audio or video quality. I love the convenience of having purchased movies stored for me in a way that doesn't allow me to lose them or get them scratched. Anyone I allow to watch my movies is unable to lose them or forget to give them back, as well!
One wish--that the price of the rental would be deducted from the purchase price if I decide I love the movie so much I want to own it. I've gambled and bought movies that turn out to be mediocre and rented movies I wish I'd bought.
Even if you own a movie or show it gives you the option to Rent it and they will charge you. You also have to put the parental settings on every single device, you would think common sense would be to add it your account not the device. My 7 year old autistic son rented a tv show we already own through VUDU, I requested a refund where they can clearly see that we own it and they will not give me a refund. I asked several times to be put in contact with a supervisor and they refused to do so.
I'm happy with vudu they have a good selection. One night might wife and I didn't finish a movie. Started watching the next night (same time) but of course the 24 hour rental was over. I paid for it again (of course -- not going to miss the ending) but was pissed. Asked vudu for a refund and to change their rental period to 28 hours for obvious reasons. I got the refund (wow!). I doubt they'll change the policy, but still get 5 stars...
I have always enjoyed vudu, until a couple of months ago my digital copies said error please re-download to continue playback abs when I try to do that, it says we don't have a version of this movie on IOS, so contact vudu. So I do and I'm told, even though I've bought a digital copy, I can't use it on my iPad. I can watch it when I'm attached to WiFi, but so much for being able to watch on the go! Anyone else have this problem or an answer for me. Doesn't help in the car for kids on a long ride!
I had a CD key for the new Need for Speed film, it wasn't on flixster so had to find another ultra violet site. I signed up for VUDU, at no point does it say not for UK users.
I activated my key. Once I got round to playing film it said not allowed for this country. Like what the actual ****. I emailed their support, they rudely stated that there is nothing they can do.
Avoid this company at all costs.
The update to the site is horrible. The sorting of movies wasn't great before but you could find what you were looking for. Now it is just a comic book looking mess. I tried renting a movie only to have it quit every 2-3 minutes telling me another device was streaming, which wasn't. I finally had to just close it and go rent the movie on Amazon to finish it. I will be using Amazon from now on and I might revisit Vudu to see if they work things out. Until then STAY AWAY! It is awful!
I've done this in the past just so i can have something to look forward to and regret it EVERY time... I pre order a movie and completely forget about it because I can't even watch something i paid for in advance until about 5 months later. Thanks vudu
They suspended my account over their technical incompetent failures. They won't take responsibility for their errors. I even spoke to Sony Pictures as to why a code was refused. The said it was Vudu's fault. They said it was redeemed by then, but failed to add my movie. Vudu renounced it.
Who do you believe? Sony Pictures and my credit card?
Started watching a movie. Paused for 5 minutes. Came back. Now randomly have closed captions and cannot get rid of them. Disconnected service and re-signed up. Still the same. Not a TV issue. Watching everything else - no captions. Put on VUDU and no matter what movie or show: captions. Customer service closed now. Pathetic.
Been a vudu subscriber for 8 years. Buffering issues are out of control. Read a LOT of poor reviews, yet server issues not resolved? Quit blaming our internet and make it right, enough is enough. I want my 8 years of money back
Your customer support is terrible! I have spent over $1,400 on digital movies with VUDU alone and I have a ticket that's been open for months and all I get is rude supervisors who don't understand the concept of databases or customer service!
Deceptive practices and poor customer service. I have 3 separate issues. First, I was forced to make a purchase or lose expiring credits so I bought 3 movies. I have never watched any of the three and asked Vudu for them to be deleted, but also be provided with an equal credit so that I could buy movies I actually want. This has been done for other customers but I was told no. Second, I was using Vudu's disc-to-digital service and accidentally select SD instead of HD on a movie. Vudu allowed me to delete that movie and receive a credit, but Vudu did not adjust my allotment of D2D titles for the year. When I followed up with customer service, they refused to adjust the allotment, even though I was originally told it would be automatically adjusted. Lastly, I asked for my complaint to be escalated and have heard nothing in 4 days. It's reasons like this people are leaving Vudu for Apple/iTunes and other competitors.
Answer: I would just stay away from vudu altogether. They are the worst company I have ever interacted with. I spent a lot of money on videos with them and I cannot watch any of them because the just buffer literally every 5 seconds and then I downloaded them through vudu to go and they won't play on there either. I keep getting a message that vudu cannot authenticate my account. I e-mailed customer services 3 times and have never received a response. I have wasted about $1000. 00 on movies that I cannot watch. I have started using amazon prime video and other sites as well and have no problems whatsoever. Just stay away from vudu they are just taking your money.
Answer: I have had nothing but problems with vudu. My opinion is just stay away and use another company. They are the worst. You will waste your money.
