Vroom's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to prolonged service delays and inadequate communication once transactions are completed. Customers frequently report issues with document processing, payment delays, and difficulties in obtaining vehicle registration and titles. While some positive experiences highlight effective sales interactions, these are overshadowed by widespread complaints regarding unresponsive customer service and perceived dishonesty. The overall sentiment suggests that while Vroom may attract customers with competitive pricing, the post-sale support and operational efficiency require substantial improvement to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.

Bought vehicle in early Dec 2020. Delivered mid-January 2021. Nice car, but immediately needed to replace battery, wipers, and key fob battery. Rear tires at 10 to 20%, with only 9,500 miles.
Worst part is that temp registration ran out on Feb 15, had to make many many calls to get new temp registration, couldn't drive car for 2 weeks. It is now March 18, and 2nd temp will run out in a couple days, still do not have license plates for my state. Was given run-around several times over the phone, each time stating that my situation was "escalated". Deliberately evasive phone contact system, where the only people you can talk to - can apparently do nothing about your situation. Even, "can I talk to your manager" doesn't seem to work.
6 months! Yes 6 months to get my title and registration! I literally covered up the car cause I could no longer get a temp tag. After endless calls and emails, I finally got the title and had to register it myself. I would never do business with them again and I implore you to go somewhere else. Worst experience ever!
To get things moving (Not that anything worked): Contact Vroom customer support, TX DMV and file a report, TX Attorney General and file a report, contact your finance company and refuse to make payments.
I got offer from vroom to sell my 2020 Mercedes, they asked me for the payoff letter I have summited 3 times and after waiting for 3 weeks to get call back from vroom to pick up the car received email saying we have not received payoff letter and whenever call I get transfer to different person which they don't even know what's going on, WORSE Company I have even seen.
Blew my expectations out of the water. Purchasing a Porsche 2016 Panamera online sounds CRAZY. From the sales agent Luis Williamson to delivery agent Kristyn Kendrick made sure I had a great experience and insure me things will be fine. However, after wiring over 52K and got no response from anyone about receiving transfer was extremely worrisome for a few days, but this was during the outage in TX due to weather. However 3 days later Luis reached out and informed me how sorry he was about the situations which was beyond his control. He assured me he will follow my transaction until it was delivered. Which he did. Kristyn on the other hand kept me abreast on delivery. When the vehicle arrived she had it inspected again and found a scratched that occurred during transport. She informed me that she sent the car to a certified Porsche body shop to get the car perfect for delivery. Yes like anyone else would be I was not too happy, but glad she cared enough to get things right. 3 days later Kristyn called for a delivery timeframe, the Porsche arrived looking brand new even with the new car smell. All I can say is I am glad I took the chance after reading all those negative reviews. I found a vehicle with less mileage, and save about 3k then purchasing locally. Will definite purchase from them again
I tried to sell my car. They do not have enough customer service reps and spent tons of time on hold to be transferred to a message machine. I would not recommend using the service.
Vroom does not honor their commitments to the car selling process. We bought a car from them with a trade. The car we bought was delivered late without paperwork and tags and title. Then they were late picking up our trade which we had to call them daily on, they have picked up the trade but have not sent payment to Lexus. Vroom says they sent payment but cannot show proof of tracking number. Now they have our car and we owe payment if Vroom does not honor their contract. Company does not allow you talk between departments to keep things confusing.
Unfortunately I did not see these reviews before purchasing my car from vroom. Yes they may be a few thousand less then other dealerships but it is not worth it. The stress and anxiety I've had the past couple of weeks is not worth it. I would rather pay more for a positive and peaceful car experience then this headache of a purchase. Two weeks and I still don't have my car, no one answers the phones, no one knows anything. You keep being transferred - complete incompetence about the contract and everything. Stay away... don't do it! So disappointed and was so excited about this purchase and I'm already regretting it and haven't even received the car yet.
No lengthy review needed. They lost my title and I've (all together) spent 5 hours+ on the phone with them
- No follow up
- Slow at every level
- Friendly folks on the phone, but an inability to actually accomplish anything.
Dealerships are a drag, but, better than this.
WARNING! DO NOT GIVE VROOM A DEPOSIT OR YOUR TITLE! I so now wish I had just gone to my local car dealer. I though this would be easier, save time and stress. I'm in the process of buying a 2019 GMS Arcadia and selling them a 2013 Ram. So far it's been a NIGHTMARE. Vroom has lost my title to my RAM and have sent me an email stating the deal is cancelled. I started this process about a month ago and a Vroom rep would call me every day with what they need to get these deals done. As soon as I signed everything and FedExed it back all the problems started. I can't get my original vroom rep as whoever answers their 855 number stated he is not available. It's totally unacceptable having to deal with untold number of persons every time I call in. Yesterday I called in 3 times and each time I was placed on hold for over 30 minutes waiting for a manager, the escalation team, etc. On the 4th call I asked the last person "Jo" (who refused to provide last name and stated there is no employee numbers), to have someone who can help with this to call. No one ever called. I've sent in several emails requesting a call, no one ever calls. Now they have my $500 deposit and they have lost my title. I've sent them an email giving them a week to figure all this out and call me. If I still don't hear from them I'll file a complaint with the BBB and have my attorney get involved. If this is how they do business on the front end of a deal, I just cant imagine how the delivery or if issues came up with the purchased car. Totally unacceptable, disappointing and completely frustrated with VROOM.
When I called into Vroom I got a representative name Zerina and she was very pleasant and explained and help me do my credit application. Once that was done she said let me run this by the credit dept and I will call you back I also had a trade in on top of that. Zerina called me back and said she had good news that I was approved and the credit dept was going to call me to work out my payments, but either way she was gonna call me back and keep me posted. One day went by nobody called two days went by nobody call... WOW THIS IS VERY PROFESSIONAL?... No it's not!... So I called and got another representative and he looked into things and he said he was going to send stuff to the credit department which I thought all that was done... but u guess I was getting the run around and the first car I picked out was available but because of the price and I guess they wanted me to get something more costly It sudden became SALE PENDING... IS THIS WEBSITE A JOKE? I'm so disappointed then the new representative tells me that I been denied... How do you tell a customer they are approved and then denied them. So unfair and false pretenses!... I'm so upset and disappointed with this company
On February 4,2021, my daughter sold her brand new Mazda Miata to Vroom. She still has not been paid for it. We have called every day for three weeks. Their customer service is inept and deceitful. They say their accounting department is backed up. You can't reach their executive offices because the phone number listed in their SEC filings is their dreaded customer service line. No one responds to letters or emails. Our experience with them is that they are unable to pay their debt to us as it became due.
We just bought a car from VROOM - worst decision of our lives! They deliver the car without title or temporary tags and the driver says call VROOM -- now on the phone and it will take three days to get temp tags! How do you drop a car off without temp tags and say good luck! Worst decision we have ever made was trusting this organization to get anything correct!
The worst experience! I am still dealing with issues months later. It was all fine until I started the buying process. Price was good, it's what hooked me in and convinced me to use Vroom. After starting the buying process it turned into a headache.
Still haven't done the registration and plates. I do not recommend this company
They email me we will contact you I gave my phone number but they never called me
I hope I will get my plate :(
They took my money and never even confirmed receipt. They have been impossible to deal with, transferring to endless holds and not replying to messages and emails. I am scared now I was scammed out of my money and plan to contact the district attorneys office. RUN WAY
They claim to be "headache free", but I've had to call dozens of times to get payment issued to myself and my lienholder. A huge hassle. They offer a higher price than dealerships, but good luck getting through to someone who can help you in customer service. Honestly not worth the extra $ to go through this experience and feel like you're being scammed.
My husband and I paid cash to purchase a car on Wednesday February 10th, the car will arrive on Tuesday March 2nd. First they did not contact us for 5 days subsequent to cashing our check, then they said they were "backed up" and at the last minute when my car was supposed to be delivered pushed it to the next day. Terrible- do not recommend.
I bought 2 cars and traded in 2 cars. 1st one 01/15/21 and 2nd 01/17/21 I got the 2nd one first. It funded no issues except I had to pay for some repairs that they claim they will refund me. They missed multiple delivery dates. It has been 45 days and they still have not paid off the trade-in but they are selling it on their site. I have had to make 2 more payments on this car since we started. I gave them anything and everything in less than 1 hour. They still have not funded the loan or received my first payment paperwork for payment due in 2 days. I am a fully qualified borrower with high credit and income, there is no reason for this. I have to chase them down for answers and they never deliver on what they say they are going to do. Update 03/07 loan still not funded and trade in not paid off. They even reached out to me from my review and asked for my info to help and nothing. To top it all off they requested I get an emissions on my Tesla electric car. SMH.
This company is impossible to reach for payables. They owe us $1500 for a transport move that we did for them over 2 months ago. Radio silence and they wont answer or just hang up the phone. They also have negative ratings all over the place for non-payment. If it wasn't for us carriers, your company wouldn't even exist, and this is how you treat us?
Once you purchase a used car through Vroom's website, the problems begin. Initially, it took about two weeks to complete the purchase of my car. While that wasn't a huge issue for me, if anyone is in a rush to purchase a car, they should avoid using Vroom. Within a week of the delivery of my car, I noticed a tear in the weatherstripping of the convertible roof. This is an issue that is clearly covered by the warranty. I called Vroom and asked if they would pay for the repairs. They asked me to submit a quote from a mechanic, so I did so. Then, for nearly three weeks, nobody responded to me. I sent Vroom several emails and made several calls, to no avail. Finally, after over two hours of telephone calls, I spoke with someone who could help me and approved my request. They told me they would pay the mechanic directly. Once the mechanic fixed my car, they called Vroom and they told the mechanic they would call him back with the payment. That didn't happen for several hours. I called Vroom, only to speak with several people who could not help me. They repeatedly transferred me to other people who couldn't help me either. Instead, they told me that my specialist was going to call the dealership at some unspecified point in the future. She never did. Since I need my car, I was waiting at the dealership and trying to get someone to help me. Finally, I was connected to someone would could help me and they facilitated the payment. Getting there, however, was a monumental task. In short, a simple mechanical issue with the car took about 4-6 hours of phone calls and emails to address and fix. This was far and above the worst customer service experience that I have ever encountered. They don't respond to my emails. They don't respond to my calls. This is utterly unacceptable. Vroom has abysmal customer service and other people should know about it before they spend tens of thousands of dollars on a car. If you're lucky enough to receive a flawless car, and are in no rush to buy a car, Vroom is fine. But if there are any issues whatsoever with your purchase, it is nearly impossible to get the issue fixed.
I bought a car from Vroom over a year ago. I still haven't received title. They kept telling me they did the paperwork already. Call the county or DMV. When I called the county and DMV I found out the title is rejected because the previous owner had a higher mileage on his title. Vroom still has not been able to provide the title. They keep saying different things like we did it already, we need to get affidavits, we got the affidavits, but it's still rejected. Now they are saying it is the previous owner's title that had the wrong mileage. They sent me copies of "corrections" from lienholder who they say made a mistake, but on one page it says Toyota and on another page it says Nissaan. The lienholder doesn't know which car he is "correcting" or is he tampering with paperwork to make it seem like it was a clerical error. In June of 2018 the DMV in California issued title to second owner with around 34,000 miles, and in February 2020 Vroom sold me the car with around 29,000 miles.
Answer: I got a good offer and my car is 2 years old and in better than average shape. In fact they offered 1400. 00 more than the local dealer, more than Carmax or Carvanna. Then I read reviews, the BBB and received the contract. In there point #7, they said they have the right to adjust the price and do not pay out until they inspect the car. Called and canceled the contract before it got any further. In this day and age I decided if I'm going to sell something I need to look at the person face to face. VROOM holds too many unknowns.
Answer: Don't trust them! Can't handle simple matters as honoring a deposit.
Answer: Awful. I have been waiting for a month and still don't have our deal done yet due to their disorganization and expiring their offer on my trade in, so now I have to start all over again with that process - which, by the way, was part of the reason I chose to buy from them!
Answer: Yes, wait and wait and wait and wait. Be smart, walk away from these people
Answer: Then go ahead and sell it! They do not force you to buy a car!
Answer: They are a bait and switch company! Truly what's on the internet is not always true! If it seems to good to be true? Probably to good to be true!
Answer: I wouldn't do it. Everything in my experience with them has been painful and fishy! I still don't have my deal done yet after a month!
