They took my money and never even confirmed receipt. They have been impossible to deal with, transferring to endless holds and not replying to messages and emails. I am scared now I was scammed out of my money and plan to contact the district attorneys office. RUN WAY
If I could give a rating of 0 I would. I have purchased many cars over the years and this has by far been the absolute worst experience. Customer service verges on rudeness. The paperwork process takes DAYS to complete. I have purchased 2 vehicles from Carvana and went smooth as silk. In fact, I had my vehicle within one week from start of process to finish. I can't even get through the paperwork process with VROOm in a weeks time and I have been very timely in providing the documentation required. I won't go through a purchase with VROOM again. My recommendation to VROOM is to purchase a vehicle through Carvana to see how phenomenal customer service and a smooth process works.
I have purchased a car in April 2021 and in November 2021 still no plates. I have called multiple times and there was no update or the real reason why. Just said they are having difficulty with the title. How did they get the car? How did Chase issue a loan? AND they said that the state of TX only allows 3 temp tags. So after my tags expire I will not be able to get even a temp tag. Not sure what to do but going to get an attorney and report to the police. I sold 2 cars to Carvana and even though selling is different than buying I strongly recommend Carvana over Vroom. DO NOT BUY FROM VROOM!
I just sat and watched the commercial that Vroom has where you make a car dealership and the people that work hard to satisfy their client look like a bunch of circus clowns and vicious people. I spent 20 years in the business and I never treated anybody like that and I never worked for a dealership that did either.
You should be ashamed- it's very difficult to buy a car on line. This was predicted to come to fruition when I was in the business in 1983. There's a reason it's taken this many years and a COVID-19 pandemic to make it happen.
Fell in love w an Infiniti SUV. They offered me a really good price for my trade in. Put the $500 deposit down. I knew exactly how much I'd be paying out of pocket. For 4 days that number never changed. Then the price jumped almost 4K. Salesman explained bc I "live in FL i need to pay more in taxes." Mind you, my account info has my FL info. Shipping zip code was correct the whole time. What gives? I'm paying cash for the difference. Then he tells me, "I'll have to call you after I speak w my supervisor." No return calls. No return emails. I messaged and told him I'm not moving forward with the sale. I guess I'll see how long it takes for my $500 to find it's way back to me. From what I've read, it's a nightmare. Also the shipping of your car can take weeks. Wtf. Run. Carvana is a million times better. I urge you to read these reviews. They're a horrific and shady company.
I was told I was approved.
So I sent the deposit.
When they got it all of a sudden, I was not approved. And they needed to find a bank to approve me. They kept saying we will call back in 24 hours.
I keep calling and they started to get rude with me even hanging up on my face. And telling me well if I did the process through sales and not online it would be okay. Like I'm a vroom car buying professional or something.
Been a week. No word from them. You can only reach sales. There is no customer service department. I finally canceled after a week.
Now they are trying to keep my 250$ deposit. Saying it costs them 250 to reserve the car a few days.
People pay attention to these reviews. Go to drivetime
Bought 2 cars totaling nearly $80k. One of them was so badly rusted my local dealer believes it was involved in a flood. I sent that one back and still waiting on my refund, but can't get a hold of anyone in the buy back team to verify whether it is coming or not (side note, the car is already listed for sale again!) The other car's temp tag is about to expire and Vroom has no idea where the registration paperwork is. When you email them, you get an automated response saying the mail box is not monitored. When you call, you sit on hold until they route you to voicemail, and they do not respond to messages. It is amazing they are in business at all, let alone publicly traded.
This so called Vroom experience was a nightmare they had a car we were interested in so we made sure it was still available, and it was so we put all our personal information in so they can run the numbers we had good credit and a decent down payment and they said they would call the next day and after waiting all day for a reply and to expect to get the car they finally called with some sorry excuse that the car was on hold for someone else #1in bad business ethics what a crappy way to treat your customers. Will never do business with vroom what a disappointment
Horrible experience, was very specific about the date we needed the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Limited Van by, they couldn't get it done and wasn't willing to reimburse for us to rent a Van for our Summer Vacation for our three Grandsons.
I do not understand the negative reviews. I sold my truck, 20.700$. In 24hrs they picked it up. The day after I got the check in my mailbox. Flawless. Great service. I really have nothing to say about the transaction. I was very very skeptical at the beginning due to the reviews but no, that was perfect!
Vroom says they sold me a 2020 Ford F-350 XLT. When it showed up it was SXT ( XL) with a screw In the tire. Why? They don't know what they're doing. I had to order a window sticker from ford. Now they say oh well. Your fault we ripped you off and false advertised what we sold you. I over paid for a XL thinking they sold me XLT which has way more POWER options as I wanted. Then took 5 weeks for delivery and now 7 weeks later still no registration. Don't buy from vroom. Steer hard right and avoid at all possibilities, if I wanted an XL I could have bought a 2022 brand new for $2000 less and no headaches but I wanted an XLT. I'm getting an attorney to take over with the fraudulent company. Then they said thwy would refund my delivery fee 7 days after I received the vehicle. No they won't do that either. Nothing but fake false promises, take you money else where
Found a vehicle we wanted, signed contracts on 4/3 (confirmed via email), wired full payment (30K) on 4/5 (confirmed via email), received email 4/5 with estimated delivery of 4/17.
4/14 email that delivery will be 4/15 and carrier is trying to reach us. Corrected phone number on account, called, all was good. Heard nothing from carrier.
4/15 called, the vehicle was in the hub undergoing inspection
Heard nothing from carrier
4/17 called, rep tried calling the carrier, couldn't get in touch with them. Was supposed to call me back. Heard nothing from the rep or the carrier
4/19 I was on hold for a total of an hour trying to reach a representative. I finally reached "Brent" who at least sounded helpful, but after being put on hold several times while he looked into it and called the carrier, I was dumped into voicemail. I'm back on hold waiting for a representative.
They have 30K of my money, I have no vehicle and a sinking feeling I will never see either of them.
It took me about 3 weeks from the time I found the vehicle until the time it was delivered. It was delivered early, and I had the title less than 2 weeks after the vehicle was delivered.
They gave me a very good amount for my trade-in, which they promptly picked up on schedule.
Every representative that I talked to was friendly and relatively knowledgeable. There was a little miscommunication with the delivery because it was early but I'm still giving it five stars because it was extremely enjoyable and easy and took me about 10 hours including financing and I did it from the comfort of my home.
Vroom's Sales Department was awesome to deal with. Their Title Department is like dealing with a zombie vampire from hell; that no matter if you put a stake through it's heart, doused it with a bucket of Holy Water & fresh fresh garlic, then exposed it to sunlight, it would still come back from the grave to bite you on the neck. Just plain awful to deal with. I highly suspect that they will try try to finagle the taxes they collected from me in the sales contract which I was assured would go to my State's Dept of Motor Vehicles so that I can get my license plates. In the end, I wished I never went through with the purchase.
I had chosen my vehicle and put a 249 deposit down to hold it. Went through financing and there were documentation they needed and I was working on it. Customer service called me and told me the process and everything should be good to go within 48 hours. No follow-up after that. And the 249 was nonrefundable. They did not tell me how long the hold was good for. Turns out it was only good for apparently 72 hours and I lost the 249 and the vehicle I wanted. I decided not to buy from them so
After dealing with Vroom for 0ver 30 days regarding the purchase of my truck, they declined there purchase of the truck. Then 2 days later they sent a text stating that they are interesting in purchasing the truck. This company is a joke, they have no idea what they are doing. If you are smart do not deal with this company. I must have called them 10 to 15 times trying to work the deal they committed to, many times I waited over 30 minutes on the phone, just to have them tell me they are working on it with no follow up.
VROOM has a chat service that is useless. Kept responding to every question to go to their website. QX80 was listed in Charlotte and I asked where it was.
No response from Charanda G. For a while then again only response was go to website. Wonder what would happen if you bought from VROOM and had an issue? Go to website? No human contact offered? Probably just stuck with a $40K plus vehicle to deal with local dealer. Might as when buy from local dealer for a few more dollars. Poor service!
Put a deposit on a car and got trade value. Contract came and did not deduct these two from the price. Called and asked for a new contract but it never came. Cancelled the transaction two weeks ago and still waiting for refund of deposit. Bought and received a car from Carvanna while waiting.
No problem dealing with the hold and deposit on the $30k car. Then, they refused to register the car at me business address. Then they did not know how many keys came with the car ($500 per key if missing). Then upon emailing the invoice, I saw about $375 worth of dealer and undisclosed dealer fees that had nothing to do with the dmv reg fees or sales tax. I told the lady to cancel the transaction and refund my $500. Then emailed back about 4 times to cancel and refund the $500. Vroom website still shows the car being on hold and have not got my $500 back days later. Cannot be trusted with this, then how can I trust them with disclosing the correct info on the car. Ended up buying a car on Carmax which is normally overpriced, but they had a great deal on a similar Nissan 370z for $31k. Carmax was extremely professional and on top of it. Not like Vroom which was low budget and anything but professional.
Was trying to buy a car, I reserved it and the next day someone called and asked if I was still interested in a car, said yes I reserved one, was on my way to purchasing it I thought. Told me nope, someone else was purchasing it. Weird but okay. It's been over a month and they're still trying to sell me the car that someone else supposedly was purchasing but worse, they are continuing to run my credit for a car they dont have so I'll have to report them to the FTC, etc. I bought from Carvana instead. Got the car within a week. Second car from them so far so good. Smooth transition. I wouldn't recommend Vroom and wish I had seen the reviews, I'd have not even tried.
Customer service was subpar too. I dont know it was all just bad, they all are doing their own thing.
Answer: I got a good offer and my car is 2 years old and in better than average shape. In fact they offered 1400. 00 more than the local dealer, more than Carmax or Carvanna. Then I read reviews, the BBB and received the contract. In there point #7, they said they have the right to adjust the price and do not pay out until they inspect the car. Called and canceled the contract before it got any further. In this day and age I decided if I'm going to sell something I need to look at the person face to face. VROOM holds too many unknowns.
Answer: Don't trust them! Can't handle simple matters as honoring a deposit.
Answer: Awful. I have been waiting for a month and still don't have our deal done yet due to their disorganization and expiring their offer on my trade in, so now I have to start all over again with that process - which, by the way, was part of the reason I chose to buy from them!
Answer: Yes, wait and wait and wait and wait. Be smart, walk away from these people
Answer: Then go ahead and sell it! They do not force you to buy a car!
Answer: They are a bait and switch company! Truly what's on the internet is not always true! If it seems to good to be true? Probably to good to be true!
Answer: I wouldn't do it. Everything in my experience with them has been painful and fishy! I still don't have my deal done yet after a month!
Vroom's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to prolonged service delays and inadequate communication once transactions are completed. Customers frequently report issues with document processing, payment delays, and difficulties in obtaining vehicle registration and titles. While some positive experiences highlight effective sales interactions, these are overshadowed by widespread complaints regarding unresponsive customer service and perceived dishonesty. The overall sentiment suggests that while Vroom may attract customers with competitive pricing, the post-sale support and operational efficiency require substantial improvement to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.
