I used vayama to book flights. Long story short their customer service is terrible and so is their website. If you have a coupon code to use and then have a credit card authorization issue, they will not refund your coupon code. You simply get screwed. I will never use this site again. Customer service will not help you. And you cannot speak with a supervisor since they are at lunch everyday all day every time you call.
I booked a flight from Vayama from US-India (Turkish Airlines). It was non-refundable flight worth $845. But due to some reason I had to cancel my flight and now the story starts:-
I called Vayama to ask how much my refund would be. They gave me a classic answer, that they can't give me amount till I cancel it or I can check with Turkish Airlines (TA). After checking with TA, they said I am going to get 20-25% i. E. tax amount as refund but had to cancel with Vayama. So I went ahead and cancelled ticket with Vayama and guess what i got a refund of $3. They further said this is what I am eligible of. After going through receipt I found that Vayama did not give me any break-up of amount on my receipt. After exchanging more than 25 mails and threatning them with complaint, they refunded me $63 and still not giving details of amount on my itinerary.
Vayama have some business ethics. You would not sustain in market with this review and rating.
Premium Insurance is a total scam! No refunds ever for cancellations regardless of circumstances. Purchased premium means Vayama will not charge you more money for cancelling a flight. And airlines don't want to talk to you if you have purchased your ticket through Vayama.
Bought insurance for cancelling, and after going through a hurricane they never wanted to help to give back money or use credit for future trips. While American Airlines gave us full credit to use it for future trips even though we didn't buy the cancelation fee. They understood the situation and showed empathy. Thank you american airlines, And Im sorry for Vayama, terrible human service. Vayama charged 200$ to cancel our trip too. Terrible.
This vendor does NOT deserve anyone's business! I lost my money, I hope you won't.
The purchase itself was fine. However, I had to cancel my trip. The airline charges $150 cancellation fee, OK fine that's standard. Vayama/Travix charges $100 cancellation fee themselves for "administration costs" - this is an automated website so it is unreasonable to charge such high fees.
The customer representative agreed to reduce their fee by 50% before we went through with the cancellation.
Weeks went by, no refund nor written confirmation. Repeated requests via email to get a written breakdown of the refund was not responded to; they did reply saying they will "honor the agreed arrangement" (without stating the 50% in writing).
After 2+ months, the refund finally comes. BUT, not only did they NOT HONOR the agreement, they actually OVERCHARGED $50+ worth of cancellation fees without any explanation!
Attempts to clarify and work this out with them were unsuccessful.
In the beginning everything was fine, but when the coronavirus pandemic began, this agency showed itself from the most terrible side. Vayama is a very irresponsible company and they don't care about customers. I call and write to them and give a request for a changing our flights for two weeks now, but they do not respond and do not want to help. In no case do not buy tickets through this agency. They are scammers.
Unacceptable website to book airfare tickets. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Unexpected flight changes that they don't take any responsibility for, poor customer support with over one hour wait, lack of email to communicate changes. Anything that you don't want when booking your airfare tickets.
I booked over 2 month before my trip to Wurope (in March). Easy to book and a good price. 3 weeks before my trip I got constantly emails that my trip date was changed by 1-3 days earlier. I called and got it fixed but I kept getting same message again, 4 times total and I cancelled my flight. Vayama says that its the airline that does it, customer service and sincerity are not there. Its was very stressful and I probably would have gone through the same "change of schedule" when flying back to US. I did not research this company before booking which was my big mistake. I also learned through my research that Kayak advertises Vayama flight through their site.
To book a flight through them is very risky!
If you want headache, go for them. Nobody answer the "24/7" phone. No way to change the purchased ticket, their system is acting haotically: you get a booking confirmation, then that your booking was cancelled, then you are asked to update your trip (the one already cancelled.
Stay away of this. Or you will be the next one posting here.
Thieves, I was charged for a flight I couldn't take and of course they would credit my account only when I use the account I had to paid fees that was for the amount credit. Legit yes, but a scam since the ticket was e-ticket and charges could have been reversed at any time before my flight. They use the excuse that the changes and fees were out of their hands, but when it was investigated China Airlines never issued a ticket and Vayama collected all the fees. I will never do business with them again and hope others will follow. There is no customer service and if you follow what everyone else is saying on these reviews, stay away from Vayama,
Vayama has increased price of flight ticket two days before my travel by $300 and said they cannot issue the tickets for the price that I bought for.
When I spoke to customer service, they didn't even want to listen to me. They only had two options to me either to book with new price or cancel the ticket.
I paid for 2 Business seats and when I showed up at the airport (In India) I was told I only had Economy tickets! The airline couldn't help me because I didn't book the tickets directly with them and they only Vayama could make the changes. When I returned back home and contacted them they returned this email
"
We are very sorry to hear about the problems you encountered during your trip.
We would like to negotiate with the airline on your behalf, but they have indicated that due to privacy laws they cannot allow a travel agent to become involved when dealing with a complaint.
They made the reservation! So both sides are saying they cant help. They basically took over $600.00 from me. DONT Use THEM!
I booked my flight from USA to India through Vayama and they printed wrong luggage allowance on my ticket. I had to pay $120 for 4kgs. On complaining, they said would give a refund but its been four months they have stopped replying to my mails. Worst service, do not book through Vayama ever.
I had some issues initially and if interested it is possible to find in some cache web-sites. However issues have been resolved and since I put previously some personal information into review, I am updating it with this quick note.
Terrible, they just stole over $750 from my bank account. I was buying ticket with Kayak and Vayama process it. They took money but never send confirmation or ticket. I call them and they said they don't have my reservation
They let you choose the flight, you give the card details and you buy the ticket, they give you an error on the website and they keep the 20$ fee and they tell you to try again or to cancel the booking. They don't answer to the phone and they don't answer email. They keep the money ;) Nice
China Eastern couldn't find reservation via Eticket. Called Vayama and got disconnected 16 times trying to figure out how to resolve the issue. Ended up paying over $1,000 to book another flight after being told there was one available and then them calling back and saying it was no longer available.
I hate this company so very much. Absolutely horrible horrible service.
My flight was cancelled in April due to COVID. American Airlines has refunded already Vayama, but after SIX MONTHS they continue to send me scripted BS mails about "pending status", "have patience" and so on. Most infuriating experience on costumer service ever!
After booking 2 separate flights by comparing prices with other possibilities I received e-tickets with a note of these flights do not include luggage. But the ticket price did not have this warning before the purchase. I could not find an apparent fee on UIA WEBSITE which is the airline for these tickets I assumed a price for 1 bag would be like in USA about $25. But I assumed wrong and paid $170 for only 1 bag for these 2 flights which I find outrageous. I paid for the tickets about $325. I asked vayama customer service for a refund. They denied it. So I got ripped off. Luggage fee must be reflected on the advertised ticket price. So watch out for these rip off genarator.
Where to begin? I was charged $900 for tickets that I was told 'weren't actually confirmed' when I arrived at the Kathmandu airport in Nepal. I could see my tickets online, but could not board the plane. Calling many times the following two days, no one would give us a refund or help us. I'm now trying for a full refund and will file a fraud claim with Chase if I have to. I can't imagine worse service- please, please book directly with the companies you see the tickets are through, even if you search through Kayak. It's also good to remember when traveling in countries abroad that small airports often can't help you and their sales teams aren't big enough to do anything, especially last minute. Anyway, worst treatment and travel experience ever.
Answer: Go to webjet they are better
Answer: Don't do it -- not worth it. They won't actually book you on those flights your seeing, and will change your itinerary before your flight actually goes out. -- So much so I was booked on a flight that made me miss my connection, and they said I had no choice but to rebook that leg of my trip 2 days prior or after... so I asked for a refund and it's being "approved" -- $700 down the drain.
