Don't use Vayama!
May 13, 2019

Don't use Vayama or Icelandair! Told me Flight changed 5/7 and I called. They said they would re-book! I got e-mail today that said the BOOKING was cancelled! I bought travel insurance on 12/4, NO matter! Vayama said Icelandair canceled and they can't re-book! #Vayama #Icelandair

We book the flight tickets through Vayama website for the trip to China on 01/22/2019, and the flight was canceled due to the lockdown of Coronavirus outbreak in Chin, Vayama didn't send us any notice nor rearrange a different flight for us. We had been trying to contact them for getting our money back ever-since on 01/24/2019, but our phone never be answered, and we still haven't get a penny back yet.
This is the worst online flight ticket purchasing that ever happened to us. We lost 1k for nothing.

I really regret booking through Vayama. After ticketing my flight, I found that I was not able to select seats on any of my flights. I went to the airline websites and also called the airlines and was told that the class of fare does not allow me to select seats till the day of the flight. The whole reason I had booked in advance was to make sure I had good seats and good flights. When I called Vayama to cancel the booking, all they did was keep telling me to call the airline (even though I repeatedly told them I had called the airline and was told I would not be able to select seats), and then wanted to charge me $50 per person to void the ticket. That was unacceptable. There was nothing in their booking process that indicated that it would not be possible to select seats. I asked to speak with a supervisor, was told that he/she was on another call and would call me back, but I never received a callback. Terrible customer service, not transparent, never booking with them again.

SCAMMERS
July 25, 2015

NEVER BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! They say your flight it booked and then it's not. I booked my flight and got a card declined from them. Called my bank and they approved my card limit. Spoke with them and got the payment approved and that I would get a confirmation in 2-3 days. I did not get the confirmation so I called wondering what happened. They told me that the tickets were cancelled as the card was declined again and they tried to called me. They never called, I have no record of them calling me. My phone did not ring at the time they have listed. I also called my phone company and they do not see a call registered at that time. I have no voicemail of this said call. I would not use them and avoid them! They are a scam business and I will make sure to make all the noise needed so other people know! Please note you have made a once happy customer very MAD and pissed off! Now I have to look for this flight again! Thanks for wasting my time!

Vayama charged me twice for the one person travelling in the same date, sametime and in same fight number. Airline said they have one booking for that person as "one person can't board twice in the sameflight!". I tried to call vayama, there is no way to contact them. They listed a phone number in the name of Travix Travel USA, which does not even exist *******856), I tried to call them several times. Basically no way to contact them.
Vayama Customer Support at *******777, goes direct to outsource center in India, where nobody can understand or deal with problem like mine.

This is the most irresponsible agency I've ever dealt with. I booked a ticket before Covid. The airline canceled my flight. I'm trying to rebook but vayama doesn't answer any calls. They are also lying sending messages that they are waiting for a refund when in fact the ticket has an open status and no one asked the airline for a refund.

This is outrageous!

I was stranded in a foreign country and I tried to rebook. I was put on a waiting list. Caller no 13. It takes at least 30 to 1hour before they answer the phone call.Do these people know the expenses of calling international and the battery running low. When they answer the y put you on hold or back to caller no 24. I had to book fresh tickets with quatar airline back to the, USA following an automobile accident vayama was not accessible.

HORRIBLE. I booked my trip in December 2019 for Europe. The airline cancelled half of our return flight so Vayama takes it upon themselves to keep $ 800 in fees and I still haven't received my refund for the remainder.
Next up is filing a complaint with the BBB.

I was told that my booking had not been processed, so I booked my tickets again. Rang the company to double check before my flight that I the booking had not gone through twice and I assured it hadn't been. Once I got my bank statement I saw I had been charged twice. Rang the company - several phone calls and emails later (despite sending my bank statement) they continued to deny they had taken an extra $400 from my account. Eventually they said they had but would not refund it.

We are trying to change my husband's inbound flight since May and Vayama told us that they need to transfer my infant to my name first. Vayama took one month to tell us that they cannot transfer my infant to my name (My infant is attached to my husbands ticket). Take note they never call us back, we are the one who keeps on calling them twice a week since they told us it will only take couple of days to fix. Korean Air (The airline) ended up helping us instead. Korean told us that Vayama are the one who responsible of changing any ticket issue/problem but that didn't happen ofcourse. So last week they told us again that we need to wait 2 days to change my husband's inbound and they will call us back. And not a surprise, they did not call us back until now. Not worth it to but through this ticketing company our plane tickets with all the long wait and hassle they gave us calling back and forth.

Just read at the other reviews, I wish I had before dealing with them, customer care is zero, the "try to fix the internet bad reviews guy" is rude and not help at all.
Just stay away! If you are still hesitating just google Vayama Reviews and you will see what I am taking about@@Update@@
After a very complicated day I can confirm that Vayama was able to solve my problem, in particular David Rush

Director Customer Relations, America contacted me first on twitter and followed the development of my problem until he was able to honor the price for the tickets and the original itinerary.

So there is definitely a customer support there and also very efficient, and his name is David, with regards of the phone customer support, there is margin for improvements.

When booking through Vayama I chose to pay extra to be able to change or cancel my fight. I ended up canceling my flight and my fee to cancel was $355.00. I canceled 2 weeks prior to booked flight. What a complete rip off, I will never use this company again.

Vayama is AW-FUL!
July 17, 2013

Vayama is AW-FUL! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

I purchased tickets and some how they messed up my return flight. I called right away to change it and the person (who could barely understand me) said that they would charge me a $50 cancellation. It was their error! They would return the fee if you re-buy on Vayama, but the tickets had already went up $100 after the error. When my credit card company and I called them a second time, a woman there told us that there was a 24hr. Cancellation without a fee. The first person didn't honor that and told me he had to charge me even though it had just happened! Both agents didn't make any effort to help me and were basically robots on the other line. Luckily, my Mastercard helped me and gave me a credit since dealing with them was useless. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!

STAY AWAY FROM VAYAMA. Once ticket is bought, they make it impossible to make any changes. They give no information over the phone. Every request for information or changes must be submitted in writing and takes longer than the 24 hours they state it takes to receive a response. When you need to travel and make a change, it should not take 3 days to receive a response. They will Not give their ID or last name for identification purposes over the phone. When you ask to speak to a supervisor, they put you on hold for ever, literally. This place is terrbile. STAY AWAY.

Dishonest
August 31, 2019

I booked a flight through Kayak/ vayama. When I received my confirmation email it had a hotel reservation attached to it. I called the hotel to cancel but couldn't and I called vayama and they said I didn't have a hotel reservation. I was charged for the hotel... so apparently I did have a reservation. Thankfully it was only $11 BUT I'm very upset about it.

After I filed a complaint with the BBB they responded by offering me a discount on a flight from Venice to Dusseldorf, presumably so I could catch my Aer Lingus connection. I went to their website and checked and there are no flights that will be me to Dusseldorf in time to make my Aer Lingus flight. I presume they checked like I did so they knew the offer was worthless, but it looked real good in writing. Please don't be fooled.

What customer service?
May 3, 2018
Previous review

66 Customer Reviews and 341 Complaints and they get an A+ rating. I think BBB needs to review its rating system. I purchased tickets in Sept. 2017 for flights from Hartford, Ct. To Barcelona on 5/22/18 and from Venice to Hartford on 6/5/18 for a trip that we had been planning for a long time. In Dec. I was notified of a change in flight times (not unusual or usually a big deal). They never mentioned that the change was part of the flight was cancelled (AirBerlin went out of business). When I finally figured out what happened I asked Vayama for help. They came back and said the only options I had were to leave Venice a day early (which I couldnt do because plans had already been made) or to fly out of Germany (it was up to me to figure out how to get to Germany and after I checked around there was no way to do that) When I explained that neither of the options they gave were feasible and that I wanted my money back they said that they cant do it. It might be that English is a second language but to say that you cant do something means that it is possible. What they should have said, and what they meant to say is that they wont do something. I explained that if I went to a store and purchased a product, and it didnt work, the store would give me back my money. I guess these rules dont apply to Vayama. By the way, on my own using another website I was able to find flights from the destinations that I wanted on the days that I wanted. I guess Vayama isnt that good on offering options to help out their customers either.
Minor side issue, if you call and ask for a supervisor be prepared to have a long discussion with whoever answers the call (they dont like to transfer you) and then get something to eat because youll be on hold for a very long time.

Their site offers some competitive flights, probably using bulk consolidator fares. I would look at a router they show, dig into it, and potentially just buy the tix on your own, b/c the routers they will offer are not true connecting flights. What this means - is when you get to your connecting airport, you will have to leave security and re-entering, first stopping by the check-in desk. Also, their flights could not be checked in online. I had a connector at MCO (Orlando) to my destination. For some reason, JetBlue would not let me check the Vayama bought JetBlue tix online. Luckily I am TSA-pre / Global Entry - so I accelerated two lines. But some other passenger was going to Colombia and had none of that, I can't imagine she made her connecting flight. In other words - REALLY look at the route they give you.
