I've worked with VRBO but was skeptical when I rented something through VRBO that was managed by Vacasa, Tried to cancel 21 hours before tropical storm as I worried about getting over bay bridge and am familiar with flood in the area (parents lived in the area so yes I know) as soon as they heard I had insurance, they told me just to submit a claim. Guess they didn't really care about working with folks, just wanted my money. Will not rent again and wish then Karma as now I'm out $800 for an overpriced weekend anyway, as insurance is not paying and my integrity will not allow me to lie just to get my money back.
We paid $1700 for a 4-day stay at a beach property. Very bad experience. Huge disappointment.
Carpets were soiled and filthy. Sofa/Couch fabric was dirty. Shower stall had mold and mildew. Cushions in bedroom were filthy and only 2 thin pillows were provided. Even after repeated text messages, phone calls, emails, sending photos to customer service, we did not receive new fresh pillows. Very poor customer service by Vacasa!
Air conditioner was very noisy. Washer was very very noisy - sounded like an airplane taking off and you won't hear anything else! The dryer lint filter was blocked with so much lint that clothes were not drying properly, a potential fire hazard! So we cleaned it ourselves.
Phone calls and text messages to customer service did not yield any results. We were told that local staff will contact us, but no one from the local staff attempted to deliver pillows to the home, and if we didn't answer the door it means we were not in. The local staff did not call us or come back again to deliver the pillows. For all this Vacasa refunded $110, compared to the $1700 we paid for the stay.
Vacasa says "Customer satisfaction is our priority", NOT REALLY! Book through VRBO or Airbnb instead! Don't waste your time and energy on Vacasa!
Vacasa cancelled our trip and is holding ALL Of our money rather than providing a refund! This is completely out of our control and we should immediately be refunded ALL of our money. Due to covid-19 the trip has to be cancelled but as a consumer, we expect a full refund.
While the house is beautifully located with a fully stocked kitchen and as pictured in the photos the management company Vacasa is the worst. The home was filthy upon our arrival for our week stay. After over an hour in the Vacasa main office, a crew of cleaners were sent to clean our rental. They did waive the cleaning fee and contributed towards dinner while we awaited our rental to be cleaned, however, with improved communication, we would not have had our initial exposure to our rental as dirty and filthy. There was a lack of basic cleaning commodities in the rental. Little toilet paper, no paper towels or dish soap, sponges, dishwasher pods or even a single bottle of cleaning spray or disinfectant. The microwave and central vacuum system were broken. To our surprise, a new microwave arrived and was installed mid-week, however, we received no, no communication, that workers would be occupying our space. A heads up would have been greatly appreciated. I will never rent from Vacasa again, it was honestly one of the worst experiences and for the amount of money we spent, it was unacceptable.
Was involved in the booking a condo in ocean city maryland, Vacasa was the rental management company assign to handle the property.
Vacasa staff was so unhelpful and rude, I couldn't believe that they were in the customer service business. I would never be involved with any service or business that has Vacasa associated with.
God where do I start. House was literally the most disgusting rental I have ever booked. Stains in carpets everywhere, dog food and trash under almost all beds, PILES of hairs in corners and closets. Blankets weren't even clean. Stains all in beds and sheets. Some of the cheapest mattresses ever. There are ants LITERALLY EVERYWHERE! Half of the TV's in the home don't even work. Fridge doesn't close most of the time. Hot tub doesn't cool well. Gas grill doesn't have propane. We texted Vacasa's "supervisor" and she was no help AT ALL! No response from the "local team" either. Real crappy place and even crappier company. And after driving almost 6 hours here to the OBX, we expected better. Will NEVER use Vacasa again.
We rented an apartment from VACASA at Sugar Mountain, NC for the New Years weekend and where do I start. We get to the apartment at 4pm as they told us we not check in before then so they can have the unit ready and clean for our Family. Well as I opened the door I thought their was people still in the Apartment because it was so dirty. The bathrooms had snot and blood in the sinks, there was bloody female pads in the trash with dirty pampers. All the bedding sheets were from the previous occupants full of body hairs. All the towels were thrown on the floor. Basically not what someone expects to see when you pay for the apartment in full with a cleaning fee and service fees even before you arrive dead tired from traveling all day. Then we called to complain, and had to wait for another hour for someone to show up to clean and we use that term loosely. It's been a week since we left and they still have not refunded the cleaning fee that they promised and no one returns my calls to answer for this.
Filthy upon arrival. Sand in beds so evidently sheets werent chznged, looked like vomit on couch. Hsur in showers n clothes belonging to someone else still in drawers. Wear black socks on bare floors because that will be color if ur feet n socks if you dont. I have nevef stayed someplace that was so filthy.
The place we booked looked very nice online. We were even called by the company in advance to go over details. We were told that if we were cold natured to bring our own blankets bc there were none provided. So we did.
When we arrived, we were greeted at the door by ALL the trash from the previous renters. I called to ask if they wanted me to roll it out to the street. They said yes.
The outlet in the upstairs bath does not work. Fine, we used one in the bedroom. The bathroom sink barely drains. But the kicker was the AC barely worked. I called 4 times as we watched the temp go to 80 in the house. Thankfully there were ceiling fans and we made it through the night. They sent someone the next day. When we got back, there were air filters left on a table. I can't tell that anything was done. It's 78 now. I called back. They are sorry…there is nothing else they can do. So very disappointed. Vacasa did not deliver at all.
We had an opportunity to stay elsewhere and now am wishing we had. This is the only and LAST time I'll ever use this company. I sent an extensive email, with pictures. No response yet. I wonder if anyone ever will respond.
Save your money…use someone else! If I could give 0 stars and leave that as a review, I would.

Paid $429 for 2 nights just to have a dirty rental. The bathrooms were nasty one tub you can see was dark from Continuous use without cleaning. The curtains in both were stained with dirt comparable to a dog playing in mud and just shaking the dirt off. There were stains and chunks of dirt on the beds, hair left in the bathrooms, food from previous guests in the freezer, the utility closet was disgusting as it had an stained towel and excessive dust. The curtain in the living room was broken and was literally just hanging by Fabric. VACASA took NO ACCOUNTABILITY AT ALL, and after going back and forth for over 7 hours and providing 65 photos of evidence for what they lied and verbally told me they cleaned and inspected they came back and offered to have someone come the next day and change the bathroom curtains and show me how to fix the curtains in the living room. After 7 hours of refusing to respond i was offered 50% of the cleaning fee $100 as a refund. DON'T STAY HERE
I have stayed in multiple Air B&B's and this is the absolute worst. This is the only one I have stayed in that was through "Vacasa". The house was DIRTY despite having a $190 dollar cleaning fee. My son also left and IRREPLACEABLE item and they refuse to talk to me about it until I pay them $25 dollars PLUS tax. I have to pay that before anyone will even look for it and it's non refundable whether they find it or not. The lady I talked to was RUDE and it's taken almost a month to get any answers anyway so the items are most likely gone by now. DONT STAY ANYWHERE WITH VACASA!
Do not rent a home that is manages by Vacasa. My family rented a nice home that was manages by Vacasa. When we entered the home, it had not been cleaned. All three beds were were not made. Towels were still all dirty in the laundry rioom. The floors hadn't been vacuumed or washed. Very poor! We had prepaid alot for this home.
We had to move from the cabin we booked because the bath tubs and toilets were backed up with nasty water. They didn't move us until 1am and when I was contacted about the place they were moving to I was told it was easy to get to and I didn't need 4 wheel drive. This wasn't the case not only did they move us to an extremely difficult place to get to it was 40 mins away from everything. I called them immediately after getting in the new place because I was so tierd and scared because we were sliding down the road were it had been raining. They told me they couldn't do anything about it and the local manager was supposed to call and talk to me but never did.
After making a reservation and paying the 50% deposit, we ran into health issues. I applied for a refund of the deposit and was denied a refund as the circumstances did not match the property owners expectations. My reservation was for June 24th, which would have left the property sufficient time to garner a new reservation. I could have been offered a refund if the property does rent for my cancelled week, but that too was not offered. Consequently I or my family could never recommend this company or the property which was #******* at ******* Worchester Drive Rehoboth Beach, DE *******. Do not take a chance on vacation rentals from Vacasa and certainly not from this property owner..
Acess to the unit required driving through 5 inches of water, then up the side of an unimproved mountain road. When trying to seek local knowledge about the access, like "does this road get worse when the tides come in or with heavy rain", vacasa told us they would let us know within 72 hours. Not great. When we asked to cancel, they told us it was non refundable because we didn't buy disaster insurance. We went to a hotel for the night because we didn't want to get stranded.
The next day the management team said that they know about the situation, and in spite of the water, the road is passable year round. So we went back.
Once in the unit, it was lovely. A converted basement in a yuppie McMansion, overlooking Discovery bay. Someone made it look like cleaning was done, except the sheets on two of the three beds were dirty. The bed was made, but never washed. Globs of bodily fluids. Luckily there was a washer in the unit, I spent; hours doing laundry before I could finally get to sleep on the second day of my rental.
No refunds.
They only give a 24 hour refund policy or they keep part of your money made reservations 3 months In advance but unfortunately had to cancel 2 days after reservations where made I understand if it's a few weeks or even a month before arrival date but 3 months in advance will NEVER book through this company again

Would leave 0 stars if I could. Rented a home through Airbnb where Vacasa was the management company. Approximately 6 hours before we were due to check in we received a phone call that the septic backed up and the place was no longer available for our stay. We were already in the Lake George area, 5 hours from home with the large group we were traveling with. The rep that I was speaking with said he was going to see if they had another property in our price range. I politely replied that of course a last minute rental would be more expensive than the home we booked in our price range months in advance. In the end we were told we would only be refunded and no additional assistance would be provided to help offset the cost of a last minute rental. I can't believe a large company can do this to a large group of people, traveling with children in below freezing temps leaving them with no choice but to book something out of budget. I will definitely make sure to not book with a property that is managed by Vacasa again.
Customer service suck, I hadn't just got a deposit back I paid the full price of the reservation of 3769 and I hadn't gotten a penny back yet. When you talk to the people that you paid, they would tell me I have to talk to the insurance guys and then the insurance guys will tell you that they are waiting on vasca to confirm that the reservation has been canceled. Please book a reservation with someone else because I think both vasca and the insurance company are working together and are scammer

The absolute worst booking agency if you're a renter and you need to cancel. The booking fee is outrageous ($1800), and they keep it even if the property re-rents! I was told by an agent that the booking fee is related to the cost of advertising...Total BS. Also, good luck if the property you need to cancel is in the OBX. That's a different department and a different phone number which none of the agents can seem to get right. I went as far as speaking to the supervisor after jumping a few hoops, and it went no where. Unfortunately, Carolina Designs Realty is now run by VACASA and it's a $#*! SHOW!
Answer: It's a monster scam. Avoid at all costs. I've rented several properties that ended up going through Vacasa - despite my best efforts to avoid them. You can't find out that it's Vacasa until after they have your money. It's a criminal enterprise.
Answer: In my experience, construction is their "catch all" excuse for canceling. Follow up to verify that it was rented, but for higher fee.
