A single star because there is no negative option. I don't about you, but about sick of dealing with nothing but machines. US Bank why bother to go to the expense to build a new branch if all the customer service I can get is "let me show you how to use the new ATM's". If you don't want to talk to your customers just stick a bunch of ATM's in a wall and call it a day. You guys SUCK and that is being kind!
My US Bank Card was declined as I was trying to get gas. Knowing my credit was good I could only assume that there had been fraudulent activity concerning my account. So at the station I called the number on the card that I might find out what the problem was. I was told there would be a 30 minute waiting time. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE! Other companies give immediate service and now I am not able to purchase gas to continue my trip for 30 minutes or more. This bank has no concern for their customers. Even my later communication through their website went unanswered.
The loan process is atrocious. It feels like no one is prepared. Everyday they are asking for some type of new paper, note or verification of something. A loan process that should take 30 days has taken me almost two months and they are still asking me for verification.
It was good the 1st week of being a new customer at us bank. Then I made a mobile deposit for $250 that was a gift from grandpa for Xmas. Received email that it was accepted. Of course I knew it would take a few days to clear.
But this is what US Bank did instead. They locked my account completely up. I couldn't log in on a pc or the app on my phone. I couldn't even call to get a balance from the automated system. I couldn't buy gas for the car that morning. After I call and find out they locked my account completely so I have no access to my funds, my money. They claim the account is new and this is to prevent fraud. So why not just hold the check? I'm not even notified that my account has been locked up and I can't even use my debt card or log in. I can't make xmas purchases that I was planning on. I could do absolutely nothing to unlock my account. Not one person actually helped they just made excuses.
I highly suggest you seek out another financial institution.
I am a current account holder in Tennessee. I turned off overdraft protections months ago and today they paid 114 worth of automatic payment and when I call they say they have the option to do so plus charge me 36 for each one and there is 3 So do the math. I'm looking for a lawyer I had 4.98 in my account now I can't get my back medicine…. No overdraft protection means if the money isn't there don't pay it … and I turned it off months ago. They offer a service but in actuality with this bank you are providing them the service when they need to make money the pay when they not suppose to the collect it back plus their fees. DO NOT USE This BANK!
I've been with them for 15 years. They treat me like I'm an important client with money. I'm not. I'm disabled. I love the small town feel I get when I go in a branch or call on the phone. They have treated well and helped me when I didn't think a big bank would. I'd recommend that you should take the time to go into a branch and ask them what they could offer you. Tell them what you're looking for, and they will take time to show you around and help you find it.
Sad to say that US Bank bought the bank where my father had all his accounts. And now I'm trying to deal with the most unprofessional Trust department I could ever imagine. Young inexperienced people are making poor decisions about my Trust fund, and there's nothing I can do! Do NOT trust them with your money!
I have had a bank account with them for approximately ten years. I will be closing bank account soon... not happy with bank operations and service. The reason I have to wait to close account, is a returned business check that was made out to me with my middle name written out and not abbreviated by the initial. Apparently, my middle name is not spelled out on current statement, so check was rejected and I won't get it back for 10 business days to re-deposit it. Absolutely unbelievable...
I have an auto loan through US Bank and have had struggles every step of the way. When setting up automatic payments online the system failed on two separate occasions leaving a note that it was successful but later we found no payment occurred, we were then charged a late fee. After the 2nd time of this happening and after calling customer support on both instances I was finally told to submit the request for automatic payment through a paper request and that I was then caught up. I found later that we were in fact late again and am now in collections. Speaking with a rep today I asked to speak to a manager and was told none were available. Asked if I could go to someone higher and was told "there is no one higher." Reportedly I am supposed to get mailed statements and have not received one in the 5 months I've had this account. When bringing that up US Bank states that is an issue with the post office and not them... sorry, but I expect a little more than that.
A week ago I used the atm to deposit money into my account and the atm ate it. I walk over to the bank guy he said dont worry bout it we still have 2 min before we open. I called cooperate talk them they said by Wednesday I would have the money still dont. I called the bank manager she said dont worry bout it since you called cooperate. I keep getting a run around and no one will refund or give me any advice. This is the worse bank I have ever used.
I went to closing with a fixed rate mortgage and one year they said they made an error changed my mortgage call to confirm that it was changed and that there was no issues with the escrow and said I was all current. In July they doubled my mortgage and did not put any money in the future escrow account. The only Bank I have EVER worked with that does not calculate the future escrow. They refuse to work with me! As a single mom working two jobs they increase my mortgage by $800 a month. The staff was extremely dismissive and refuse to even do bi-weekly payments to help with this massive change in my financial situation. US Bank is extremely unprofessional and they do not communicate to their members when they do not pull escrow out for the future year leaving their customers with a doubled mortgage payment with one week notice. I will never ever ever recommend US Bank to anyone!
My mortgage ended up at usbank when they bought defunct downey s&l. So we didn't choose them. We had NO idea that customer service could be this bad. Incompetent people, we have to keep going in to undo their mistakes on our account. Really, servicing a home loan isn't rocket science. Competent people don't stay long, just when we think there's hope, they move on and another idiot takes over. Not only are they stupid, they are rude as heck. If it didn't cost so much we'd refi to another bank. I hope to pay off the loan soon, I can't imagine putting up with this for 30 years! You can't fix anything on line, have to go to branch and scream in person.
This bank is burdello with Stupid **suckers
I did receive my salary by paycheck and bill it by atm. It was worst mistake in my life.
After this bank put hold on my account and still holding my funds - almost 1 month
Gonna increase rate if somebody from this bank will start to work with throat
Worst bank EVER! Every year they purchase insurance on my behalf and deduct THOUSANDS of $$$$ from my escrow account when I already have insurance and I have to get through to a person on the phone then get transferred around multiple times! HATE HATE HATE this bank!
I am thoroughly disappointed and pissed off.
A class of Kindergartners could handle their customer service.
Don't trust this bank to protect you money and don't expect them to stand behind you if you are a victim of fraud.
I initially US Bank was very helpful and promised me that I would not have to worry about money that fraudsters used Zelle to obtain money from me. I now apparently owe them 765.41. They took my entire savings.
When I called to inquire about the latest PayPal charge I was passed around to different departments, sent to a survey regarding a conversation that never happened and then hung up on. I was treated very poorly because they don't want to secure the fraudulently stolen money.
I have never in all of my life hated a bank more than US Bank! By far the worst experience I've ever had with a bank and wouldn't wish this hell on anyone. It should allow for zero stars it doesn't even deserve that. Absolutely no help, unfair charges, and extremely irresponsible with people's money for it to be considered a bank. Do not I mean absolutely do NOT bank with US bank you WILL regret it. Horrible just horrible company
I just opened a money market account and transferred funds from my other bank to this one. I noticed the funds are not available. When I called, they told me it will take 10 days for the funds to clear. It was an EFT. My experience with other banks is it takes about 1 day for the EFT to be completed. Now I have to wait for the EFT to be completed so I can close the account.
Another issue, after logging in on the website, it seems to be poorly designed and hard to navigate.
US Bank made a mistake on my account, so went to the branch and asked them to correct it. They printed a few pages with data from my account and sure thing they found a mistake and corrected it. However, they charge me $75 for "printing 10 pages pages" because they qualified it as an "analytics charge" :-0 If I've ever seen ripoff then US Bank is the essence of ripoff. This is my opinion.
This is one of the worst websites ever. They have a glitch or issue at least once ever 2 weeks. You can't login, you can't navigate pages. It's absurd that a bank of this size can't afford a legitimate or functional IT team.
Besides that, the bank isn't so hot either.
I have a personal and business account with US Bank. Their online banking needs to be improved. Their customer service is horrible with the exception of a few that are very knowledgeable. It seems that some customer service personnel is giving the "silent quitting" treatment. I called on a Friday morning at about 1am, the first representative did not seem knowledgeable and seems to give me the run around on all my questions for her. After 25 minutes of frustration, I hung up on her and called back and was able to get a knowledgeable representative to help me. It is frustrating but I have learned to end the conversation immediately with incompetent representatives and keep calling back until I get a knowledgeable rep. It is very sad that these representatives are incompetent but it is today's norm. I will still bank with US Bank for the time being.
Answer: U.S. Bank is NOT A SCAM! I've been banking with US Bank for over 18 years, and unlike many banks (TCF in particular... who's process may have changed by now since they got sued over it) US Bank counts your deposits first, checks or debits against your account second. If you know how to use Google, and you can find a branch by you, you will get the help you need. The statements by Joe B. Are insanely false and ridiculous. I have 2 checking accounts, 3 savings account and 2 US Bank Visa cards, I've never had an issue doing what I needed to do with regard to any of these accounts, and if I did have a question, they were easy to reach and always helpful. I am NOT currently a fan of their mobile app as they've kept updating it to a point where bill pay is messed up, but otherwise it has been most useful for transferring money and managing my balances. I've traveled the country and never had an issue getting money when I needed it, or handling my finances. And the bill pay on their website has helped me manage my monthly payments (house, utilities, loans) with ease, which was suggested by a US Bank customer service rep... which until recently, was very effective even through the mobile app. And just for the record, I've been buying groceries (and countless other things) at Walmart for 20 years... guess how I paid for it.:-) In general, over 18+ years, I can absolutely recommend US Bank. And no, I don't work there, I'm just a customer who opened an account there because it was across the street from where I worked at the time.
Answer: At the time, it was convenient because it was across the street from where I worked. I've stayed with them because they have always come through for me. Customer Service is easy to contact at 1-800-US-BANKS. Or you can find a branch where you live at USBank.com. And NO, I don't work there, I'm just a customer that knows how to use Google, the internet, a keyboard... c'mon people, use the hat rack on your shoulders.
Answer: Why are you asking people in a forum?! Call the bank and ask them! Here is a place to start: https://www.usbank.com/about-us-bank/customer-service.html
Answer: I had to buy US Bank checks recently. Two boxes cost me $40.80
