“Unlock my phone before going on holiday”

James R.
11/1/17

Thanks to these guys I could take my phone during my holiday to Europe. My att Samsung was unlocked in less than a day and once I got in France, I could insert one local card. In this way, I used data without paying any extra fees! Thimbs up!

Have not fulfilled their promise. Stopped communication after I asked for a refund. 1-9 days for the code was what was stated and it's been almost a month now. Just waiting to hear how it's my fault and blah blah.

As others have stated they will basically steal your money. I'm amazed that most IP's allow them to advertise.

Products used:

I ordered an unlock code from them and paid a premium for unlocking it in 40 minutes or less. They could not unlock it even though their automated system stated otherwise. Just for clarification: you input all the information of the phone BEFORE you order. So the system knows exactly what phone it has to unlock. Stating that the code is available should mean that it is available. After 4 days and several delays they asked for more money. What does more money have to do with the unlocking process? I already paid you a premium and you could not unlock the phone. Why would 5$ more change anything? Why should I trust you after the system/you lied to me?

Did not pay them more, got a refund after some discussion/time and unlocked it somewhere else for the same price, and it worked.

Anyways,

Gave them a negative review and got answered that of course I am at fault, cause that is how they do business (pretty much summed up their answer).

I can live with that...

What really pissed me off was the fact that after 6 MONTHS! They report my negative review and state that I have not conducted business with them. WTH?
They replied to the review and everything. How can they reply to a review if they don't know what it's all about?

Lying piece of $#*!!

Luckily I had the old emails including receipt, communication etc. in my Inbox and sent it to trustpilot (reviewsite) and of course the negative review was put up again (after being taken offline because of their damn lies!).

If this is how you do business, then my time writing this review was well invested.

Just in case you are a smartass again: Order ******* IMEI:
************** Phone model: Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017)

Greets

Tip for consumers:
prepare to wait for delivery. sometimes it just does not work and they just ask for more money to rip off? or just to gain time?

none, did not work

HTC Desire 530, encoded in Vodafone Romania company, trying to unlock into Orange Romania.

I aquire the phone IMEI, complete the form, pay the amount requested by unlockunit.com and of course, like a good customer I wait for the unlock codes.
The payment is confirmed and after 15 minutes, I receive an email with two unlock codes which both don't work.
Two weeks of useless emails, phone pictures with the exact IMEI, and today the request to make a video to prove that the codes are not working.

Totally unprofessional and that beeing said, I strongly do not recommend!

I Made a Request to Unlock a Samsung S6
I made the Payment, Sent a Code,
They sent two codes, Nothing.
They say that comes factory management. LIE!
They doubted my word, I am a month without a cell phone, because they are always delaying.
I made a Video I put on youtube to prove to them that I would not be fooling them.
They sent me another code again, these people have been trying to fool me for weeks.
I saw that I was out of money.
But nobody who buys anything to this company, they only serve to steal money.

Placed an order with unlockunit and got instant correspondence but when they could not get my code and I asked for a refund this stopped, I have emailed many times asking for my refund but it looks like I will have to ask my credit card company to assist in refunding my £28. DO NOT USE THIS SITE THEY ARE CON ARTISTS.

Unlockunit took 3 full days to provide Google e-instructions to unlock my phone using an active T-Mobile SIM card, which I don't have. When I told them I didn't have a T-Mobile SIM they told me to borrow one. They NEVER provided a code, and refused refund when I requested they stand behind their "100% Money Back Guarantee" to unlock my phone.

My phone REMAINS LOCKED. I already knew I could use a T-Mobile SIM to unlock it, which is why I used their service in the first place. My phone ALREADY qualified for a unlock from the carrier, IF I had a T-Mobile SIM--it was the promise of an unlock code (no SIM required) that prompted me to use their service.

I now have to dispute the transaction with my credit card company. Whether Unlockunit unlocks your phone or not, they will take your money. Their "guarantee" is trash. Use another unlock service.

My experience with this website has led me to advise others to avoid! I paid for their "service", then realized that I did not need to unlock my phone because it wasn't locked in the first place. Once I discovered that, my UnlockUnit correspondants failed to respond to my emails. When I continued to email them saying that their website states, "Money back guarantee" and "Excellent customer support", they ignored all my messages. Fortunately for me, I had used the best bank card one could possibly have. They back me on all disputes. I was reimbursed by those idiots, but only by going through my bank. UnlockUnit had not only refused to reimburse me, they refused to so much as respond to me. THEN, a few weeks later, I received an email saying,

"Hi, My name is Gabriela, I'm co-founder of UnlockUnit.com. I noticed that you've tried to place an order with us and I would like to ask if you'd be so kind to tell me what went wrong. We're constantly striving to improve our service and it would be very helpful for us to know the reason why you haven't completed the order with us."

I have now realized from other online comments that this is a standard letter sent out by the website. Before knowing this, I responded to Ms. "co-founders" email informing her that I did not TRY to place an order, I DID place an order. I explained all of what had occurred. But, just like apparently ALL the UnlockUnit team, she did not reply. It would appear very clear that they respond only when they think they're going to get your money. Avoid these idiots! There must be more reliable options out there!

Hi Mona,
Once placed, all orders are automatically sent to our supplier. You have to check if your phone is locked before placing an order.

Your order was already sent to our supplier and we have been charged for it. Moreover, the code was already delivered to your email address. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer you a refund in this situation, as stated in our T&C, which you have accepted before placing the order.

I used their service to unlock my phone. Even though I was sceptical at the beginning, they did their job and sent me the unlocking codes.
