If I can rate lower I could. Some tutors are good at explaining stuff but the others suck miserably. I purchased unlimited access or what I was lead to believe unlimited access. Which it wasn't it was a limited access of 4 hours a day 30 hours a month. This is truly false advertising if I see one. They are purposely ripping you off. They charge astronomical amount of money for 2 hours a month 4 hours a month or, "Unlimited Access".

The tutors are very helpful in my statistics class. They work with my pace and make sure I understand it. They are not going to just give you the answers. It certainly is not a rip off. The only think I did agree with is that I purchased an unlimited package, but later learned that unlimited is not truely unlimited. It has a 4 hour a day limit and a 15 hour a week limit. To me this sounds like false advertising. It is still well worth the money and I would recommend this site to anyone who needs help. I am going to give it 5 stars just to help raise the raiting, but normally I would give it 4 stars. Also, it is true that many of these bad ratings saying it is a rip off is their competitors.

Hope they have more bigger packages, so that they can be more economical

It was really bad! I would suggest you stay away from it! The tutors suck and they never helped out.

Simply horrible, stay away from this site... it's simply a huge scam. The sales rep. Told me from the beginning that I could have a full refund... I'm like OK, that sounds fair. I purchased the 2hr for 1 month subscription plan. I used the painfully slow service they offer... they gave me incorrect answers and misguided me on the problems (no exaggeration)... and on top of that, they would not give the final answer to the question (they're there to "help" you only... yea alright). I ended up complaining and wanting a refund to which they said that they would have "academic experts" review my sessions and evaluate them on their "helpfulness." Fast forward two days, I had only 48 mins. Left... they gave me a $20.00 refund b/c the "academic experts" found my sessions "helpful" (of course they could be found helpful when the tutors state facts rather than help me out putting thoughts together) which they claimed was an "exception" they made and then they draind my account of the 48 mins. Worst rip off of my life so far. Not even being dramatic. I was very upset. Not even worth it to be honest.

I would give this zero starts if i could. They didn't know how to answer a basic calculus problem and took over 20 minutes trying to figure it out. They also charged my card automatically without my consent for renewal of service. Horrible site doesn't help at all. It is a borderline scam. Stay away!

I have been with tutor vista for a month and a half now. I like it so far. I went for physics tutoring and there r one or two tutors who do a crappy job. One of the tutors Sujatha taught me wrong way of doing vectors and there is another tutor Sanjeev who would not explain things as well. So it is better to refer the notes from ur college professor just to be on a safer side. I then accidentally found this tutor Akitav He makes things so crsytal clear and explains why things act the way they do. Definitely choose him as a physics Tutor if you are looking to understand the concepts and trying to get ahead and do more physics. Also, for people like me who is taking this class as a pre-med and have to understand the concept for MCAT he is the teacher for u.

This site is excellent
October 27, 2012

This site is excellent. I am an extremely fast typist, and, although primarily Indian tutors are those with whom I speak, they mostly type very quicly, speak English very well, and understand every calculus problem I present to them. The benefit of using an online tutor compared with face-to-face is that I am not embarassed to be myself, and ask even the most stupid, trivial questions. I am quickly become more confident and at ease learning than I can ever remember being. I use a face to face tutor also, but this is AMAZING because 24 hours a day I can jump on and get answers to questions that pop up and it would otherwise be too late to get the answers for. I HIGHLY recommend this service. Best part of this: 125.00 / month for UNLIMITED 24 hours a day tutoring in all my subjects. Perfect! :)

If I could give this site 0 stars I WOULD. First of all, I sent them a question for calculus thinking that they could solve it, but instead they redirected me to another tutor at least 4 times. I assumed that the first person couldn't solve my question about derivatives until they kept on forwarding me to other tutors. This website is horrible and they do not help at all. Stay away from this site

They ripped my 150$ in the name of Unlimited tutoring. Worst tutors. They are painfully slow. Some of them are still good but mostly are nightmares.
Customer care is highly unresponsive. If you want to waste your money then only go for them.

I selected one star since there isn't an option for zero stars. In looking for assistance with a math problem, I stumbled into this website, which, as soon as i opened it, an invite to chat with a tutor came up. I accepted the invite and that's when the scam begins. I was told i selected the wrong class from the drop down menu and that i would have to pay additional to switch to the class for which i needed tutoring, by this time, they had already charged $99 on my credit card. I asked them to reverse the fee but they refused! The representative (Nanda) took long time to respond and his response always was "I request you to take Math right away" completely ignoring my request for cancellation. This is a SCAM!

While I find the tutors 99% great I have had problems with two. Customer service did rectify the first issue by crediting me an hour for my problem. Today I had a second issue which they did not resolve. They began by saying they would credit an additional hour but then expressed that I was over credited for the first issue and I would not receive a credit. The root issue was lack of knowledge from the tutor and a second tutor entering the session. To be clear, you will lose the time from the first tutor so if you are in a session decide if it pays to wait to see if you can redeem the session with the second tutor or you want to cut bait and end the session and start a new one hoping you can complete you problem within the session time.
To be fair until today I have had a very good experience with Tutor Vista and hope this is the exception not the norm...

Tutorvista is a FRAUD company with liers and bad customer service. They are extremely UNPROFESSIONAL! You can never get in touch with anyone at a supervisor level for any problem resolution. They charge your card just because they have them and ever refund the money. When I called my credit card company they try to reason with them and the card company advised me to change my card number. They will charge your card and do not refund the money even if havn't use the serivce.

Reading all these negative reviews, I was very skeptical. I tried a week for $20. I used this for my grade 12 pre-calc class. The tutors answered all my questions correctly (to my knowledge). After I watched them solve the problems, I would ask them to explain certain parts, which they did. After the week, you get a free hour every month for free. This is a pretty cool service because it offers unlimited tutoring for a modest price. Just be sure to cancel the subscription as soon as you sign up! If you don't they will continue to charge you with no refunds. I canceled immediately to be safe and was only charged the $19.99 I wanted to pay and kept my week.

This company signed an annual advertising agreement with my company. They refused to pay their bill and we were forced to cancel their ads and send them to collections. We were able to recover 1/4 of what they owed us. Do not do business with this company!

Was very responsive and able to on line chat regarding expectations, homework, fees, etc. After they processed my credit card information my daughter was unable to log on and get any assistance. The customer care line mailbox is perpetually "full" They do not respond to emails. I suggest you report this site to all consumer protections agencies, the attorney general in your state and any press you may be able to listen in your area. IT IS A SCAM. Once they process your credit card there is no tutor available for any type of assistance... which is illegal. Businesses cannot take funds and provide NO SERVICE WHATSOEVER. BEWARE.

I don't understand why I should have to settle for a minimum of one star; they deserve "0' stars. This is a scam. Do not fall for their affiliations; they are just supporting the outsourcing of U.S. jobs. It is obvious from every review that we have all experienced the same poor service, language barrier and the "automatic renewal" that results in months worth of huge fees. They should be stopped. I will dispute all charges on a credit card and I would also contact the Better Business Bureau, but they are in India. Also, they offer a "guarantee." What is the definition of a guarantee? I would assume satisfaction and those are my rules. They can have their rules of a "no refund policy"; I have a rule that a guarantee means satisfaction guaranteed or I get my money back.

Their reps can't even speak a normal english! Can we sue? How can we make the public more aware?

I tried out a 1 month subscription for $79.99 only to find out later that they renewed by subscription and kept charging me $199 for 3 months. I did NOT continue with the service since I did NOT like the quality of service. And talk about paying $779 for the crapiest 5-10 hours of services we received from them. I feel like I've be cheated to the core.

When I realized that I've been charged additional $600 for recurring subscription (which I had no idea about when I signed up since the chat rep cheated me with signing up by saying that I'll be trying out 1 month service), I spoke to the customer server I got a response that sound like well we got your money now, so now we don't bother whether you got the service or not. The customer rep kept telling me that you can't take any legal action as they have everything taken care of in their terms and conditions. This is one heck of a fraud company who doesn't value customers money at all. I took 0 services for 3 months and they deceived me and charged me $600.

After such a horrible experience all I can feel is here is one company which cares only about making money, how they can deceive customers by not telling them properly that they will be charged month after month. And forget about service and customer value. These are the least important things to them.

When I contacted later to cancel I was told we can extend your service. How can one even feel comfortable taking any services from a company which shows almost no morals and integrity with their business. I would NEVER recommend this to anyone. If you like to be around cheaters who can dwindle your money anytime, you have reached the right place!
