Booked a room in Las Vegas, montecarlo, used my credit card, tried to cancel with plenty of time, the system would not allowed to cancel, they kept my money, it is not fair. Help me.
I booked one night in Memphis, Tennessee. It was at least 20% cheaper. I saw a of commercials on TV and I decided to try it. I wont waste my time with any other websites.
I was trying to contact Booking.com through their customer service number as I needed to make a special request for our stay in Savannah, GA in June.
I called their customer service phone number,, *******958, on Friday, April 28th at 4:45 pm, MDT. I waited on the line for 6 minutes 8 seconds. I called back the same evening at 7:58 pm MDT, and waited 12 minutes 18 seconds. I called again the same evening at 9:43 pm, and waited 15 minutes, 6 seconds. I called again on Saturday, April 29th at 7:40 am, MDT, and waited 20 minutes and 52 seconds but still was not able to get through.
At this point, I have decided I won't be using Booking, com anymore and I also won't be using Trivago.com to book any future trips.
I had high hopes for Trivago when I first saw its TV ads. But after many attempts to book on it I found that 9 times out of 10 the prices are all the same?
Imagine my surprise when I booked a hotel room for Ocala, FL and received a confirmation for Moore, OK. Had I not carefully read the confirmation, I would never have noticed and would likely have been charged for a room I did not book.
This is an inexcusable mistake and renders Trivago a non-starter for me in the future.
If you are travelling to Orlando Florida and in the need of a taxi service you cannot go past ADAMZ taxi. *******797. Courteous, very helpful. Thanks to Adam he made getting around so much easier.
We came in today to Sedona, Az after booking with Trivago who sold us out to a third party Elvoline who changed our booking date without authorization! We got in and was for the wrong date which they admitted THEY CHANGED. Elvoline refused to work with us by changing the date back to our date or refund. Elvoline wouldn't even give us the # to Trivago! Had to make a dispute with my bank. After 45 min Elvoline admitted they lied and weren't third party to Trivago at all but had our info and would not give us the name of the third party. They said they were from Hungary and had no supervisor. All in all was a nightmare! Do yourself a favor and never use Trivago because they will sell you out to second and third party not in the USA and change change your booking dates!
I made two bookings using Trivago in the past several months. Trivago does a good job of a search engine by gathering data, but does not make it clear that some of those third party hotel booking search results are foreign companies. Booking.com is one of those, based in the UK. Booking.com has a loosely worded "guarantee" for its lowest price, which you will not be able to dispute. It only guarantees the price is the lowest at the time of booking, and disallows any non-refundable bookings, which of course, all or most of their offers are. Therefore their "guaranteed lowest price" is not worth anything. I noted that the room price changed on my booking through them to a lower amount for my selected hotel the next day, but couldn't change my reservation without forfeiting my paid charge. From this bad experience, I learned that I could beat the hotel rates shown on the Trivago search by calling the hotel direct and negotiating with them instead of using this third party booking company. Read the numerous complaints on Booking.com before using them. Trivago would do well to provide a clear option to avoid foreign booking companies.
Bad Beyond Belief. I entered the dates I needed for my boss's upcoming trip. Several hotel choices appeared. I clicked on the one I wanted. I was redirected to pay for the trip, however THE DATES HAD BEEN CHANGED WITHOUT ANY WARNING! I didn't notice until after I paid the NON-REFUNDABLE fee.
Booking trips for my boss for the last 15 years and NEVER made an error like this before. NEVER had a site randomly change my travel dates without warning. TERRIBLE.
BEWARE - Trivago is not a booking agency they simply refer to hundreds of other sites with No Control over the results! I just lost over $200 using a Trivago referral to AMOMA [whoever they are] when I discovered an arrival date error. I didn't want to "Cancel" the reservation, I simply wanted to change the arrival date... but neither provider would make the correction and the money's GONE.
Marc and I are so grateful to have had our wedding event at the Ottawa Marriott Hotel. We had a wonderful, great customer service, professional team at the Ottawa Marriott Hotel. Special thanks to Alfred Ayoub, Benjamin Bruckert, Food and beverage Services Manager, Caroline Cote, Event Manager, Lindsey, Manuela, and The Chef who was very exceptional to put together a menu tailored to our needs.
Everyone went above and beyond to help us. We received wonderful feedback from family and friends on how lovely the room was arranged, the view and most importantly how the great was the food. The services was impeccable. We have and will continue to recommend Ottawa Marriott Hotel to everyone.
Booked First hotel through trivago upon arrival i was denied check in because i am under 21 and the hotel has a bar. It is very unplesant to be in an unfamiliar place with no where to stay.
I used to Trivago to find a motel in Orlando Fla to watch my son participate in the parade at Disney. The site EasytoBook had a room and a great price. I made the booking. When we arrived at the motel at 1100 pm no reservation. It was a Quality Inn and they really bent over backward trying to find the reservation. It could not be found and they were booked. I called EasytoBook and joined the electronic shuffle. Meanwhile we tried to find other rooms at other motels. There was nothing available. It was a busy week at Disney. We called over 22 motels no rooms. It turned out EasytoBook was using a sub vendor located in a place far far away. They were no help.
We finally found a room that was, lets say, quite a bit more costly over the original room. We had no choice. We stayed 3 nights.
I submitted a claim to EasytoBook with a written story, excel spreadsheet documenting cost, and a copy of the receipts. After over 2 months they offered me a $100 refund. That did not come even close to paying for the bathroom space at our new motel.
I emailed Trivago and asked for their help. They put pressure on EasytoBook. It still took another 2 months before I got a very generous refund from EasytoBook. The Trivago customer service representative kept after EasytoBook and would not take no for an answer. Trivago kept me informed of the status.
I firmly believe that if Trivago had not intervened I would still be waiting for my refund.
I have stopped looking into Trivago. Whatever I tried to book, Trivago never found the best price, it just doesn't work. You obviously pay for the commercial bombardment they throw at you.
Since constantly seeing that homeless hobo pitching Trivao on TV, I have tried to use their service four times. Every time I have used their site and gotten prices, I have found better deals on my standard sites: Kayak, Travelocity, hotels.com, Hotwire, Expedia and Orbitz. If you are going to corner yourself in the "absolute best deals on hotels" category, YOU HAD BETTER HAVE THE ABSOLUTE BEST DEALS ON HOTELS, YO! I don't know why they think they can compete on price when they are not competing on price. In my opinion, they will be out of business in a short time with their dumb investors sitting in the corner crying.
I like ur site, its really helpful. We had been to Rajasthan in Dec 2014 & I'd done all hotel bookings through your site - Trivago.com. All the hotels were good and it was a perfect trip. After that I've always used ur website for all my hotel bookings. So when we went to Kasauli in October 2015 I again checked your website and did bookings for a hotel called Kasauli Castle. However, I was redirected to the booking site of Kasauli Inn- I thought perhaps they had changed their name and did not recheck. Imagine I checked the reviews, pictures everything for Kasauli Castle and instead got a rude shock when the hotel turned out to be Kasauli Inn. Kasauli Inn was horrible and we had a really bad experience there, the staff there dint help us at all. It was quite a nightmare, but, had ur site not redirected me to their lowest grade hotel, I could have done my bookings at a better hotel. You should check and verify which hotel is actually getting booked and what is your site showing outside. We were thoroughly dejected.

Love this place. It was extremly clean, easy to get to different attractions, managment could tell you of multiple places each day to see and things to do. Top of the line beds, quite, friendly..
As a small business who had told them we wanted nothing more to do with them (but not in writing) they took a further year's subscription from our credit card. No business has come our way from them.
I ran into trouble with a room I booked, and Trivago refuses to help me. They keep telling me its an Expedia issue. Expedia has no record of me booking anything.
I was searching for a 3 Star+ hotel in Bloomington, IL (there is nothing better than a 3 Star hotel there in anycase). Turns out that there were just 7 options through Trivago - with Holiday Inn Express at $105 per night. I got the same hotel for $63 per night, for the same period, from Hotwire!
Answer: The bottom line is good luck with that. Nobody cares and they may email you back but nothing will happen and i guarantee if you gave someone money for a service it is gone forever. There are so many rip off sites related to Trivago it is unreal.
Answer: Dear Michelle, Thank you for your message and I would be happy to help. Depending on the booking site you choose to make your reservation with (ex. Expedia, booking.com, Agoda etc.) you may be required to prepay for the booking in full, an authorization (hold) on your credit card may be placed, or you may have to simply pay upon check out at the hotel. I would suggest reading the policy of the particular booking site you use, to see how their payment process works. As trivago is a hotel meta-search, meaning users can search and compare different hotels and prices on our site, we pull information from multiple OTAs (online travel agencies such as Expedia or Booking.com) and display the prices together. However, once a user clicks through to book a room, they are directed to the appropriate booking site which provides that price to complete reservation and payment details. Trivago doesn't actually have any involvement in the making of the booking. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Kind regards, James Morrison Trivago user support.
Trivago has a rating of 1.6 stars from 325 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Trivago most frequently mention credit card, customer service and next day. Trivago ranks 201st among Travel Search Engine sites.
Dear Wendy,
Please note, as a hotel search/price comparison website, trivago is not involved in the booking process between the user, the online travel agent and the hotel, and therefore cannot, in any way, claim financial responsibility for the transaction process between these parties.
However, please get in touch with our user support team immediately at info@trivago.com. They will do their utmost to assist you in finding a solution with the booking site you made your reservation with.
We would like to clarify a couple of things in response to your comments. Please note that on trivago, users can search and compare different hotels and prices. We pull information from multiple OTAs (online travel agencies) and display the prices together. However, once a user clicks through to ‘view deal’ from trivago, they are directed to the appropriate booking site which provides that price to complete reservation and payment details. Trivago doesn't actually have any involvement in the making of the booking.
We look forward to hearing from you directly with all relevant booking details.
Kind regards,
Trivago user support.
