Went this afternoon for HH and the 2 good beers were out. Then, the chef decided that dinner would start at 5 not 4 as advertised. Seriously? Bought one over priced beer and left. Went next door to Calypso, great craft beer for 3$, shared the seafood platter, and had the clam soup. Excellent. SKIP 11th ST. Bad marketing and decision by the chef, Would love a response.
I travel a lot and this site is very helpful when I'm searching and booking hotels. Their review section is also a great feature for me to check and see others feedbacks/comment of that particular hotel, restaurant etc. On top of that I am also getting affordable offers and discount from this site. Highly recommended!
If you are travelling to a place you have never been to, Tripadvisor can be relied on. But i found in some cases that subjective judgment of reviewers (hi rated reviewer) can be judmental and contrary to the facts. I found reviews of high rated reviewer, which is unfair as it was during an incident while may cause visitors decline visiting the place reviewed. So visitors of trip advisors should also visit other websites to check the object.
Trip Advisor really gives you the full picture of where you want to go. Sometimes I feel people worry about non important things! But it gives you a good sense of facilities and what it's actually like-- we all know the pictures aren't always accurate! I love how easy it is to navigate, the built in maps and most of all the city guides with the best rated things to do. It always helps find some hidden gems, if go back through enough pages!
I love this website to get to know nice restaurants or pubs/clubs. Used for the first time when I went to Marrakech and it was a great way to find my way to nice places in a place that I visited for the first time. Started using it for other cities since then and got to know quite some hidden gems. Of course there are also some users trying to promote their own business in general I have found the reviews to be very helpful.
I have had a fair experience with TripAdavisor, till two weeks ago. I found a economical airline ticket of about $145 each flying within Peru through an online travel agency called "OneTravel.com" under TripAdvisor. OneTravel is almost a scam. First, after the booking, they let you choose a seat and I did my selection, but no response! Next morning, an e-mail sent to me saying they are willing to refund me $23 because they can't give me a seat? I never knew there was an extra charge of $23 for seat selection in the first place. I then did see a charge of $23 and a credit of $23 in my credit account. But they refused to refund me the ticket price of $145 even they can't find a seat for me. I don't want to travel in S. America without a set confirmation. So I called my credit card company for a dispute.
TripAdvisor, please take my advice; remove OneTravel from you site; it is ruining your reputation.
Traveling is my most lovable think in my life and I went so many countries to enjoy my many vacation times. Four month back, I visited Singapore with the help of tripadvisor site and they make my journey very easy. They booked hotel room and vehicle booked I reach there and I got a good guide too.
This is an excellent site for hotels. It gives accurate information and allows to make a well thought selection based on price and reviews. One caveat though. It happened to me once that a hoteI I had selected was considered as "full" for the dates I wanted. I called the hotel and there were still rooms available at a similar price as the ones listed by the site. So check first with the hotel reception in such case.
For those who don't realise, it is very easy to get fake reviews added to a business to bump them up the ratings. Some businesses give incentives (bribes) to customers to place reviews. Some even get friends and family to add reviews. If you do not join in the 'game' the number of reviews will be significantly lower and you will sit lower in the ranks. Lets face it, we are all getting a little 'review fatigued' now.
Tripadvisor will never address this as they want businesses to compete and to proliferate their brand - very clever! There are genuine reviews but within the mix of the less than truthful versions it all becomes a bit unreliable really. The verified reviews you get from other sources, the big OTA's, are great in one major way, you can only leave a review if you book through them, so they are far and away a more trustworthy resource for knowledge.
And outstanding resource filled with numerous opportunities for accomodation, and moreover - reviews from travellers from all over the world. Greatly helps to decide which particular place to stop in and what to expect when you come there. All good - thanks!
I use Travel Advisor for information pertaining to vacation travel, but the site is also very helpful on information for your local living area. I search for open restaurants on Sunday and holidays. It's great NOT being redirected to other sites to have my questions answered.
We checked I. Had the most pleasant experience Ive ever had checking in to a facility! Matthew was amazing and very helpful I would definitely recommend the hotel because of him! I have traveled many places And felt very welcome at this facility
They offer owners a "Free" listing, then cannot sync with VRBO and do have charges of $200 for cancellations.
Run like hell if you get a call from anyone w an Indian accent making promises.
They do have charges and lie to you!
They have tons of resources and I found that very helpful for my visit to Europe. From booking to exploring local places and restaurants, it was a pleasant experience. But their customer service was not very good. I had to wait long to get hold of someone and I didn't find their support team very friendly. Except that, everything else was good. I don't mind using their service again.
I was recently writing a review and one of the questions. Was did they provide a mask for unvaccinated. First off how the hell I am supposed to know. Is the restaurant even allowed to ask. Lastly vaccinated still spread the virus. What a stupid question
Do never book on Tripadvisor...their identity has been cloned, I have been scammed of a considerable ammount of money and they did nothing and said it was my fault, they are the worste of the worste...I read of similar situation with other website (abritel) and at least they did a commercial effort and offered a little refund. In the end they should check that their identity is not stollen. I will never, never, never use them again for anything, horrible and umiliating experiance, shame on you for putting the blame on a victim of a crime!
My only complaint about TripAdvisor is that it's seemingly impossible to search for and review businesses that don't fit into the categories (e.g. Hotel, car rental, etc). I wanted to review booking.com but couldn't find a way to do that.
Otherwise, I like their website.
They are dishonest. I wrote a review for a website in a very polite fashion. It was genuine but negative feedback about the hotel. To my surprise the review was removed by 'tripadvisor' within 48 hours.
This is my fifth year to rely on this marvelous site to arrange my summer trip with the family especially to choose places of attraction and shopping spots, so easy to use the only thing you need is to place your destination and search, then choose from side list of categories weather you look for hotels, attraction or shopping malls, accurate addresses to copy and load in your google map to save it in your places,,, you can also see it on map from the same page.
You also get benefit from the members reviews which helps a lot to know more about the place and weather to put it at the top of the list or not.
Many thanks and appreciation to the team standing behind.
Good luck and all the best.
This website have a lot of tourist agency staff pretend a tourist guest, to promotion their website business, and reply themself questions, suggest compare acquire more information from other website, Never believe the forum or question and answer from the website, some price is higher than normal price.
Answer: Ya, its very easy, you can find your hotel and write as you want. What's your experience with this hotel.
Answer: Its hard to find it. I think you must need to find the correct name of your company or place. Then you can easily find any review
Answer: I don't have a chance about this. I think real reviews with good details published immediately.
