I registered for this service thinking it was a Dutch CV writing service, but it turns out the company is in the US. The Dutch, and Europeans in general, have a very different CV writing style than Americans do. Before they even begun any work, I asked for a refund. They refused even though they'd done no work at all for me. They finally agreed to giving me a partial refund and keeping 50 of my money for themselves for doing nothing and for misadvertising on a Dutch website when they're not a Dutch company. It's impossible even to find their address anywhere so I question the legitimacy of their operation.

Not having required a CV for many years I felt having one was job done, how wrong I was. Having the opportunity to have my CV reviewed professionally was quite exciting but never anticipated how forensic the findings would be. This made me really look at the critique and clearly Katie knew her stuff, as we say around here. I only wish I had Katies analysis abilities, would most likely mean I wouldn't need a CV. Well done Katie.

Indeed, pretty useless.

I honestly doubt if their CV writers are even native English speakers. The CV looked like it was created with a meme generator - both language wise and format wise.

I was surprised to receive my first draft with actual lies - made up numbers, bombastic and unrealistic titles, incorrect and irrelevant experience - which I had to kindly ask my writer to alter.

The only positive thing about it is that it gives a bit of perspective regarding the format and the way one should present themselves - but I could have found this in different ways online anyways.

I have to edit everything from scratch, since there were so many typos and factual mistakes - I simply don't trust my own CV anymore. That's a shame, because the idea of a professional reviewing your CV is a very good one - only in this case it is very poorly executed.

On the first revision I noted several inaccuracies but after a second review (after my comments), I really liked the new version of the CV. It really captures my experience and skills, and it is also very well written, short, and will likely call the attention of future recruiters.

The only thing that I noted is that it took longer than I expected but it was worth.

Being a Creative Writer, I always heard from people that my CV was appealing and different. The myth was busted when I submitted it for CVNow's review. They reviewed my CV on various parameters - structure, language, usage of keywords, listing achievements vs. tasks. The best thing I learned was - how my CV would look like to a recruiter. It was a 360° review. I have already started updating it.
