Don't waste your money. Very unprofessional service. Their "first draft version" was essentially my existing CV, except they had removed very important information and replaced it with totally inaccurate stuff. Clearly it was written by someone who didn't understand my line of work. It was a simple template job they did. After complaining their response was that they would of course make improvements once I told them what I want adding... sure like I'm paying in excess of £100 for me to re-write my own CV!
I asked for my money back but of course that was not possible either - in the end I got a small portion back. Terrible service.
A wonderful experience by Zeke who revamped my entire resume's style of writing. The turnaround was also quick and response was also fast! Best thing of all I managed to get an interview through! Looking hopeful!
Keep your distance!
I was allocated a CV writer who clearly knew nothing about my sector of work and produced two drafts that I could only describe as illegible. Nothing but a mad scramble of my own CV intended to be more punchy - but sadly lost any kind of meaning.
Complaints raised with my customer liaison officer led me to believe that I was writing to a BOT rather than a person.
Finally an hour with the customer service centre in South Africa before being passed over to the refund department.
My advice - do it yourself!
Actually the experts are very helpful as my expert david was respectful, whenever i ask for edits he quickly respond with his notes.
I have only one comment, just add a valuable information if you have been asked to remove some details not directly to the point, which make for example the responsibilities or any other information not satisfied.
Everything else was professional
Please be aware before you trust in this company. I purchased the second best option £129 for a CV and covering letter. Big mistake. I was assigned a writer who sent me a first draft that was such a big disappointment. The format was for first grade students, some of the language did not make sense. I told them straight away I was not happy and wanted my money back. Well I'm still waiting after more than a week. Apparently they don't refund since this is a non tangible goods. The customer service is non existent.
Don't trust them with your money
I'm not sure if I will get my money back. I will have to contact citizens advise bureau for help
After an initial problem uploading mu docs to the CV Now site I had great communications from Joe my Writer. He understood requirements, provided accurate interpretations and produced an on time great end product. Great value!
They do exactly as they state. The delivered a great CV which I never would of been able to create myself and I've had interview requests because of it. Is it worth the cost? Hard to say, but they're professionals who are good at their job.
This is basically a scam. I bought their best package and got absolute rubbish in return. Sent back for so many revisions and eventually gave up. They just ignored me when I asked them to focus on certain things or change themes.
They claim they can get you a writer who is an expert in your field. This is a lie. I work in finance so hardly niche, and the writer clearly did not understand some very basic concepts. I had to give more than one writer a crash course in my field. Pointless. They give you a nice template but you could just download that from Google.
Oh, and to top it off, the writers are not native English and their English is poor for professional writers. Expect typos, weird context and poor grammar.
There is lack of transparency when you sign up for the package. They say 'unlimited correspondence' with the writer but later went on to deny me a single phone correspondence. When I insisted on a call with the 'writer' since none of their communications specified 'email only', they say, speaking to the writer will cost me an extra £50!
The first draft I received had statements copied exactly from Netflix's JDs. And buzzwords stapled on to sentences without thought, hence rife with structural and grammatical errors. It did not meet some of the requirements I had mailed them in my brief and that's when I asked for a phone call which they denied for 2 weeks before getting back to me with a £50 option.
Such a bad service and I deeply regret trying to use them. I was really frustrated by my CV as I seemed to attract the wrong sorts of positions and wanted a fresh take. The CV they produced for me was hideously ugly and completely inappropriate. Large parts of it made no sense and did not seem to be written by a native English speaker. The cover letter was hilarious - I used to hire people in my previous position and if I received something like that I would have instantly deleted it. Do not use, do not waste your money. I'm sure there are decent CV writers out there. These people are not them.
From a list of past experiences, skills, targets and based on a former version, I was pleased to quickly receive a draft version of my updated professional identity.
With few back and forth exchanges, I received the final version using selected vocabulary within a week.
The generic cover letter and LinkedIn profiles were sent at the same time. Thank you for your responsiveness and speed. It's been greatly appreciated to enable further leads.
It was professional, responsive approach from TopCV expert. Well done job. Revised resume reprsents you as a viable, qualified candidate by quickly answering the question, "why are you the best person for the job?" rather than placing the burden on the reader to search your history for the qualifications they seek. I have got the level of a
Document that I expected with emphasis on personal achievements.
Finn H. Was exceptional in helping me with a perennial problem I had had in figuring out any way to reconcile my prior career with that I'm seeking to obtain at this time. He was cordial and has shown himself quite adept at the practice of aiding people with their CV difficulties. A great service all round.
I have been very skeptical of these services having had two previous 'professional' CV's written. First of all Sara reviewed my CV. She nailed the errors. Then gave me a written review showing what my old CV scored through the automated online review. That was an eye opener!
Cindy wrote my new CV and after accepting some direct feedback she got my CV right.
Finally it was passed back through the online automation. To the testament of their work it took three days for my first response. Just finished my first interview... Waiting for the next one.
Thanks to everyone.
I believe that the comments saying it is a professional service are fake. CV didn't arrive within specified 48 hours service time. Full of mistakes, spelling, grammar, dates, old font and layout Didn't get a single response. I'm going to take this to court as it has been a shambles start to finish.
I can only presume that any good reviews have been written by TopCV staff...
I joined this group for the same reason as everyone else does. I have a time critical job application waiting to be sent off.
I joined this group on the top tier and to date have not had the promised phone call, no promised email, (except one apologising for there being no contact after I complained), and no draft C.V.
I am still within the 14 day cooling off period and they have until the end of today to respond or I will cancel and recall my payment.
They had a very good idea to offer CV reviews for free and this is an important step forward for someone who needs personalised assistance. I did not try the paid service but I assume they know what they do.
Unfortunately I have to say VERY BAD. The quality of their CV suggestion / draft was not good at all, having left out several important aspects of my career. Additionally, the writer used too many words in the draft CV which brought no value added at all. So I asked the writer to re do ie make another draft... but I received no response. Then I asked for a refund... and I received a reply from a lady called Mandy who wrote:
"For the time, effort, and resources spent on your project there is a value and we will not be able to offer a refund at this stage of the project."
This is a total waste of your money. Do not go near them. The mysterious Katie will send you a critique of your cv but it's exactly the same as she sends to everyone. I have been waiting 2 weeks for my first draft and still nothing. The positive reviews you read are ALL FAKE. The bad reviews are from honest people who have been victims.
Save your money buy a pre paid deal with unlimited minutes, then start calling companies and taking interviews! There is no trick, the employers want to see your interest and experience/skills. No magic formula on the internet. It goes like this bait, hook catch! Type of companies, they offer you free, then pay in advance, then bye bye money
Just call the employer and talk to him ask him questions, and call for an interview
Good luck

Answer: They're a scam - and they'll all rot in hell. I hope our responses here save some other poor souls their hard earned cash. Absolutely appalling service - they're bullies and extortionists at best. A bunch of cheap crooks who cost us our hard earned cash!
Answer: Hi Elena, Great question! Our resume writing process is collaborative between the writer and the client. We use your old resume as a primary source of information, but you will also be able to provide additional details via our questionnaire and in communication with your writer. It's as simple as that! Please let us know if there are any other questions you have. Thanks!
Answer: Don't believe them Tracy! It took them 2 weeks to finally send me something, and it was basically what I had sent them. I complained and they gave my CV to someone else -- with NO rush put on it of course, and 3 weeks later I'm still without my professional CV that is supposed to come with Satisfaction Guaranteed. Only problem is they don't know what that means!
Answer: Easier to ignore an email.
