How could anyone object to a Timex?
Simply, a great little watch at a reasonable price.
Styling is conservative, in my opinion, but that isn't a bad thing.
I'm not sure that it can still 'take a licking and keep on ticking' as the 'old' motto suggests...
Lot's of choices for under $100.00.
They're certainly worth checking out!
After 2 purchases unremarkable except for complete lack of notifications that order was received, shipped, or delivered, ordered an extra watch strap. Got something that only barely resembled the description and photos of what I ordered. Have mailed Customer Service 4 times over a 5 week span now, and gotten no reply except automatic "Thank you for contacting us" letters. They obviously care not the slightest once they've got your money and have no interest in support after the sale. Avoid them fastidiously, there are watch companies out there that actually care about their customers unlike Timex.
Ordered and got a watch. If not for PayPal payment receipt would never have known the order was accepted. No notice of item shipping sent. After order placed used "create account" option, added a password, no record of the account even existing. Attempts to send email and get a password reset get me nothing. I guess it's lucky I got the watch, not like they made any effort at all to keep me posted of the process though.
My story just keeps getting better!
Purchased a watch in June. Beginning of august it stopped working. Emailed for a solution. No response. Can't get ahold of anyone. Two weeks later finally someone answers the phone and says a different person will be reaching out to help me later that day. Nothing. I emailed and called again a few days later. Email reply saying they would get back to me soon. NOTHING. I gave up. Wrote a review. And 2 months later they email back saying they can't refund me because it's "beyond the window". You're kidding right? Now I'm out $160 and have a broken watch.
Zero customer service to attend to any of your questions. The web chat does not work or gets rejected. Item once ordered, was kept in limbo and may not be sent out immediately. My watch was sent out only after a week, during this time, they ignored all emails sent. Upon received, the Timex customer service had the cheek to reject all of the honest reviews about the product. Avoid Timex if you can. Especially the online webstore. Look around at the reviews, they're all very similar and its not even about the product. Its the customer service. This is the absolute worst service from a well-known brand.
Timex asks that you create an account but then you cannot access your account. Nothing happens when you click on "sign in." I ordered a watch and have NO idea what the status is or when it will arrive.
Timex watches are great, although there has been a slight dip in quality the last decade or so. Prior to that I would get years and years out of them and the band quality is also not as good as it was. But for the price point, they are wonderful.
Purchased a timex watch online on the 10 th of December nothing. Tried calling automatic machine comes on email them nothing but call back to number the automatic machine came on really. All I want is a refund for my watch if not going to receive it. I actually left corporate a email see if they even respond. Warning don't purchased them online will ripped you off. Spend 94.96 for something I never received or text or email. This thinking of u tube this on video to warn people.
I ordered the Navi XL on 1 May 2023. No order confirmation, no communication and no replies on the online portal. It feels like this is a bottomless pit money is thrown into. Have never experienced such a total lack of customer service
I purchased an Iron Man watch with a 30 m rating assuming that with a 30 m rating it could go underwater 90 feet or 30 m. However, after jumping in the water my watch immediately took on water and broke. After reviewing their website a 30 m rating just means that you can wash your hands with it. You can't even get into a pool. This is an outright lie by the company Timex. I don't see how this is legally allowed. In and of itself, the Iron Man competition is a competition of swimming bicycling and running. And then to falsely put a 30 m rating on a watch, knowing that you can only wash your hands with it is just outright wrong.
I bought a timex 11 months ago the expedition. I noticed after about 2 months it was losing time so once a week I would have to move it up about 5 minutes. 3 weeks ago the battery died lol I bought a battery and put in it it started right back up I thought great ready to go but the I indiglo light wouldn't work. I thought I don't need it. 2 days later I noticed it losing time again I'm done with the watch I went back to a 5 year old Casio that has the original battery and works like a charm and it only cost 24 dollars and the damn timex costed me almost 60. So yeah I'm a Casio fan. This isn't the first time a timex has let me down but it will be my last. Way to expensive and quality isn't their.
I do like Timex watches; however, their customer service is ridiculous (or should I say non-existent). I have tried email, phone, chat and cannot reach anyone in customer service. With email, I get zero response. With chat, I get kicked out after submitting a chat session. With phone, I get told to leave a call back number but never get a call back. When I try to call again (during business hours), all I get is a message saying they are closed. Likely only to buy Timex watches from other vendors from now on.
I have a time T2N720 that requires a screw pin and screw to attach the band to the watch. Timex will not sell or send me a screw pin and screw to replace a broken one without me sending the watch in for service to have them put another band on I don't want. It's a lousy screw pin and screw guys. I have two Timex watches and will never buy another one again.
I purchased a Timex Ironman Run Trainer 2.0 watch with GPS with a one-year warranty which ceased to be waterproof for my daily lap swimming after 23 months from new. I subsequently purchased a Timex Ironman T5K412 watch with which to track my daily lap swimming, again with one year warranty, only for it to cease to waterproof after 21 months. For the prices that I paid for name-brand wristwatches with specific waterproof specifications, I had hoped each watch would maintain its respective integrity for a longer period of time. Silly me!
I've owned quite a few Timex watches since the 1970s and I've never had a single problem. I purchased a Timex watch on Wednesday 10-1-20 from a department store. It has the steel wristband which you stretch out and put over your hand when you put the watch on your wrist.
On Saturday 6-18-22, if you do the math having worn the watch 5 days a week for that period of time and not wearing it on the weekends I've probably put this watch on and take it off my wrist a total of about 800 to 840 times.
On this particular date when I went to take the watch off the part of the strap near the top of the watch itself broke on one side.
I waited until today, Monday 6-20 - 22 and I phoned Timex to explain the situation. A gentleman called Migelle (sp) answered in customer service and to cut a long story short after I explained all the above to him, he sent me a 15% email coupon if I bought a Timex watch strap!
Let me get this straight your poor workmanship has failed, and I've got to buy another watch strap. What a spit in the face. If I was Timex I'd have said, "We're so sorry for the trouble and thank you for having faith in our products for so many years. We'll send you out a new watch strap.
I've nothing further to say. I think this company's poor response to a customer who's been with them for almost half a century says it all!
I have a brown Timex Expedition watch that I've had for over 10 years. A few days ago, it was missing. Last night, I washed a large load of clothes at the laundromat and dried them for 30 minutes on hot. When I got the clothes out of the dryer, I found my brown Timex Expedition. There was not a hint of moisture in it, and it still had the correct time and date. TAKES A LICKIN' and KEEPS ON TICKEN'. I'm 70 years old and have had several other watch brands, but there is nothing like a Timex.
I really want to give Timex 0 stars if there were an option. Just cheap a cheap trash watch which I paid over $100, had only it for about 3 months, not wearing it on a daily basis, and now they are wanting to charge me for an unwarranted item $30? I purely specified that if this "new" watch needed repairs that I WOULDN'T pay for it and to just send it back. I received a paypal email specifying payment is $30 and there was absolutely no breakdown on what the issue was. The watch (which I don't know how it happened) was ahead 2 hours! It was one of those days I didn't happen to wear it. I also bought 2 cheaper Timex watches on Amazon, both of these were defective as well. So all 3 Timex watches, defective! Why do I need to pay $30 for a repair which obviously wasn't me who caused it to run 2 hours faster. Not a great experience also with no confirmation that my watch was received, also that if there were ANY repairs it needed that I would NOT pay. They could have just just returned the watch, and I would just throw it in the trash! Unbelieveable, I am so not happy alround with this cheap watch company.
TImex sent us someone else's order. I called them to report and request a return label. They couldn't send one right away - had to check with someone higher up. They said they were re-shipping my order. I should have stopped there and kept the watch, as it was the same one I ordered. A week later I still had no return label so had to call again. (Mind you each time was a 40 minute wait to speak with customer service.) When I said it was ridiculous that I had to wait for a return label to fix their mistake, they sent one. I returned the watch and waited for the replacement, which never came. I called a third time and they said the order had been cancelled. I received no notice of this. The watch I ordered as a gift for my daughter was no longer available. There was a similar one, although it wasn't exactly what she wanted. I asked Timex to pay for express shipping, and they wouldn't do it. They said they would refund the shipping. Given how many screw-ups there had already been I asked them to pay for it. I can't spend any more time on the phone with Timex talking to people who have no authority to help me, and don't communicate. I even spoke with a supervisor. I might as well have been speaking with a robot, as she kept repeating the same canned speech over and over. If you order from Timex, and they screw it up, it will be your problem, not theirs, and you will have wasted hours of your life on the phone with unhelpful people who aren't interested in fixing their mistakes. I will never buy another Timex watch. And my daughter will have to find another watch she likes, and won't have it for Christmas.
Answer: At this point, having wasted 5 weeks trying to contact Timex customer support about a purchase that was not at all what I ordered and being completely ignored, I'd go with full bore scam.
Answer: No, but I can share 5 failures of Timex customer support to so much as reply over a 5 week span regarding a single issue. They obviously have that "We've got your money, now shut up and go away" mentality working.
Answer: Long-standing reputation. Watches still seem to hold up to said reputation, web site and service not so much.
Timex has a rating of 1.9 stars from 17 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Timex most frequently mention and customer service. Timex ranks 172nd among Watch sites.
