Myself and 3 other friends in our mid 50's drove down from Vancouver BC to see The Arkells. We bought tickets in advance. We showed up at the Doug Fir Lounge and we were told that we were not welcome to come in, as the only form of ID we had was our BC drivers license and our American Government issued photo Nexus card that we used to enter the US. Not good enough for this bar! They required a passport. What a shock! Not only are we out the price of 4 tickets, but a 7-8 hour drive to and from home and the cost of our accommodations. Apparently this ridiculous policy is on their website or on their tickets, but I can't find it, and Ticket Fly did not make me aware of this policy. I certainly won't be coming back or recommending it. I tried to get through to Ticketfly, but got tired of being on hold.

Here is the response I received from the OregonLiquor Conbtrol Comission:

That sounds very frustrating. The OLCC has a list of acceptable forms of ID for the purchase of alcohol (it looks like the Doug Fir sent you a link to previously.) They are correct, as a Nexus card or Canadian driver's license would not be eligible to be used for ID verification. This is set out in statute, and the statute is only specific to ID for the purchase of alcohol. So while they could possibly deny you purchase of a drink without ID, the statute doesn't speak to the ID required for entry to an establishment. That's up to the establishment. It sounds like they choose to check ID at the door, and apply the statue there, which is fairly common and they are free to do, but that's up to them and how they administer their establishment.

Hopefully they could at least refund the tickets? Sorry to hear about that expereince.

Paid the same price as everyone else did at the door at the early hours. Price spiked later on. Cant complain. Enjoyed the show.

STAY AWAY FROM TICKETFLY! This site is NOTHING but a SCAM. Tried to order tickets, got the message that their site was "experiencing a hiccup" and that my order would NOT be processed. However, they didn't hesitate to CHARGE my account not once but TWICE. I NEVER recieved a confirmation for any of my purchases that they have charged to my account, and I have tried contacting customer service many times in a variety of ways. Emailed and recieved a message saying to "contact customer support via a phone call (insert number)" so I called that number for them to tell me that their customer service was down at the moment. After attempting to call (probably 10 times or so), I finally had a option to choose from, however, those options led me to NO WHERE! All I got was an option to "Press 1 if this is the number I would like to recieve a call back on". This is a scam, fraud, joke, pathetic, disgusting way of business. I have contacted my bank so they are aware of these fraudulent charges being made to my account so if they are processed, they will be filed for a dispute. As being in customer servie myself, I cannot imagine treating paying customers this type of way. I am beyond furious and pissed off.
