We had our carpet cleaned here at Auto City Speedway! All Around Carpet Cleaning took on the challenge of cleaning our carpets. (We are a race track!) Paul was very prompt on his arrival time given for an estimate. His prices were very reasonable... We didn't have to wait long for an appointment to clean. He was very accomodating to our needs. AND... the carpet is now cleaned and looks FANTASTIC! We won't need to do any more "Comparison" shopping... All Around Carpet Cleaning will be our FIRST CHOICE from now on!
Terrible customer service - They took my money but wouldnt help me set the account up properly. I had a free account set up. When thumbtack called with a cyber monday offer I decided to take advantage of. I wanted to have both of my businesses represented. They rushed me through the process and didnt tell me that once a name was on the account, it couldnt be changed. They didnt help me set up properly and basically had NO solution for THEIR mistake!
Most customers or "leads" are people that no one will work for for various obvious reasons reasons like they have lines on there house for non payment, expect the impossible or want everything for free. One lady said she was missing a shovel and I lost out on $500 for a shovel later she found it but my $500 never saw it. Another lady couldn't find her tape measure later found it but I have yet to find my payment
I was referred to Kenny Vargas of Pura Vida Pool and Spa Professionals because our spa was not working. We have had the spa for14 years and this was the 1st time we were having an issue. Kenny spent a lot of time diagnosing the problem. He worked really hard and it was really hot but he was a cool as a cucumber. He replaced the necessary parts and the spa works great! Kenny is also very personable and a joy to do business with. If we ever have a problem in the future I would not hesitate to call him and will refer him to others.
They charge you what they want when they want. If the customer sends you a message saying hi I decided to go with someone else, they charge you. They said that was a lead. How is it a lead when the customer tells you they are going with someone else? They have a "NO REFUND" policy. I wanted to give no stars!
I have tried this for a year, I got around 150 quotes request for audio rentals in Central Florida, at least 70% of the quotes I sent they never viewed them, 29% they viewed the quote but didnt say anything, i even tried to see if I was charging too much and i sent quotes just charging $100 to rent microphones, speakers, digital sound board, monitors for concerts, everything for $100! And they never said anything. I just 1 hire from 150 requests!
They are just looking for prices to plan their events, not to hire from Thumbtack, sad :(
I just listed my business on this site and next I had customers coming in I tried Angie list but it takes seversl days just to figure out how to sign up oh best part no hidden fees and pick your own budget
Thank you Jesus Diaz! He took on the challenge of finishing a crawl space with framing, drywall, and painting. He took a lot of pride in his craft, demonstrating professionalism and masterful expertise. A trusted gentleman and skillful craftsman. Affordable, timely, and complete.
Sam Spencer does exceptional work! He has done commercial and residential work for me over the past 10 years! His pricing on labor and materials is fair and very accurate. He has done every kind of project for me from concrete to windows to roofing and flashing to siding and ceramic tile and painting and plumbing and drywall. I have dealtt with many contractors in my 65 years both on a personal level and a professional level and Sam Spencer is heads and above the rest. I give him my highest recommendation to anyone who wants great workmanship and fair pricing!
Overcharged for the leads. Even if client cancelled on the app or not matching preferences. Not getting respond from customer service. Now they changing $150 minimum on your card for leads. Scammers and thiefs
Thumb tack constantly charge me and three other people for one lead. The first contractor may accept job, the other two contractors are charged for doing the job as well. I added card to account so i could receive payment i thought they would subtract for the amount customer would pay me to do job. Instead thumbtack subtracts the money from three people upfront it don't matter who get the job. Added a card to receive payment they started hitting my card rapidly for leads. I stayed on for one week before it began to seem more like i was being scammed. Noon was answering than they would send you to look at job that you don't get paid for although you clearly added to your account that there will be a charge for estimate. You will end up $200 short before you can blink your eyes
Being an 80 yr old widow with health issues I desperately needed help with my 28 yr old small condo. Debbie came here and after organizing the kitchen cabinets she wallpapered the kitchen with a cheerful blue and white paper. She made a valance and covered the dining chairs with the same fabric. She then created a cozy guestroom from a catch-all room. What a pleasure to wake to everyday.

I have been a caterer on Thumbtack for about 2 years. One thing I noticed from the beginning was that the people who are making the request does not have to pay. I soon found out from countless would be clients that they just wanted to see how much it cost to cater and that they weren't planning a party. Some people said they were just web surfing and came across the name and tried it but with no intention of following up. I have made numerous attempts to ask Thumbtack to let the clients know this but they have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Now, there is no hiring on Thumbtack for caterers and I am inclined to believe what some of the other professionals are saying and that is many if not most of these requests are made up. Of course Thumbtack does not lose money they are making money off the professionals. Very bad practice, like leaches sucking off your blood.
I had the same exact problem, Thumbtack cancelled my account because I was associated with a company not allowed on Thumbtack. I responded to many request spending $100s of dollars, they refused to provide a refund after I requested my money back. They are not only a scam but a total rip-off. If my account was cancelled I should have received my money back.
I had a 75 inch TV mounted on the wall also I had a laundry room door that was broken and repaired by blessed by the best and it looks better then it did when I moved in my home. I also had pictures hang all through the house and small repairs done to my bathrooms on a scale of 1 to 10 I give them 11 I will recommend this company to everyone
I recently found Dwayne Goodwin and asked if he could do a few paint jobs around my house to clean up previous work another contractor preformed and I couldn't get to return to fix. Not only did he do a great job he improved the previous job quickly and affordable.
I used Wendy Heller as a private dog trainer for my three dogs. She showed us how to train our dogs with positive reinforcement. Our dogs responded very well and I found I wasn't yelling all the time. I would recommend her and found it to be a positive experience.
I used the service once, next time I tried to use it my account had been deactivated. They tell me it's because I am associated with a company I have never even heard of. Then won't tell me how I am connected or how they came up with the connection.
Took my computer to Venom, PC this am with Blue Screen and got it back at 6pm with a new hard drive with all files cloned. Very reasonable cost and I will return. Highly recommend Venom PC in Urbandale, Iowa. $#*! Nelson
Answer: Thumbtack does not generate fake requests. When our professionals come to Thumbtack to meet new customers, we know how important it is to receive requests that can help them expand their clientele. We have a lot of customers that come to Thumbtack and hire professionals to help them complete their personal projects. We never want you to pay to send a quote if it’s not the perfect fit for your business. This is why you can view the details of each request before you send a quote and introduce yourself to the customer. James - I’m so sorry that the concerns you’ve brought to our attention haven’t been responded to in an appropriate amount of time, this is never our intention. It's important to us to obsess about answering our customers and professionals questions and concerns within a timely manner. We are a real company that can always be improving. You can read more about our company in reputable sources such as Forbes and the New York Times. If anyone has specific concerns about certain requests you’re receiving, we’d be happy to review them and see how we can help. Feel free to give us a call at (800) 343-1710, we have an amazing support team that is just waiting to talk to you.
Answer: Hi Kay, I’d be happy to answer your questions. When we initially started Thumbtack in 2009, we tried multiple business models. This included a commission based model, but there were some concerns. When professionals didn’t pay for each quote they sent out, there was nothing to stop pros from quoting as much as possible, regardless of if they were the right fit for the job. Paying for each quote encourages better quality quotes and creates a much better experience for customers. Like you mentioned, it’s important for us to get customers to try our site and continue to hire professionals. In the end, pros are paying to promote and advertise themselves to customers that are already actively looking for that particular service. S. G has an amazing point, and Thumbtack is a great introduction site. There’s a lot of potential to expand your clientele, but sometimes it takes some tweaking to your profile and quotes to increase your response rate. The goal is to create a connection through your profile and quote message, and we’re here to help you do this. It’s kind of like sending the customer a virtual portfolio of your experience, achievements, and reviews. I do want to clarify that Thumbtack does not create fake requests, and it goes against everything we value as a company. While Thumbtack may not be the perfect fit for every business, we strongly believe that we can help connect businesses with new customers and foster growth. If you’d like to give us a call at (800) 343-1710, we’d love to give you more personalized help or answer any other concerns you may have.
Answer: We love to see that you’re interested in joining Thumbtack, Grace! Your party planning business sounds like it will be a blast. When it comes to having a license, it's up to each professional to determine what licenses are necessary and follow their local, state and federal laws. I recommend checking with your state to see if a business license is needed for your service. Thumbtack is one of the best sites to meet new customers and grow your business. Robert S. Gave a really good explanation of how we work. You can sign up and receive requests for free, and you only pay us when you send the customer a quote. Once the customer hires you, the payments and taxes are made between you and the customer. This is a great way to connect with the customer and build an extensive referral network. We wish you the best of luck with growing your business. Have an amazing day!
Answer: The reason you had a lull in leads we because thumbtack had a manual action penalty levied against them. If you are not sure what that is you should google search it. The letter you received from Thumbtack regarding this was (as usual) not fully truthful. The letter does not detail the slimy tactics thumbtack used ti enhance google rankings in organic search returns. Do yourself a favor and search this phrase "thumbtack manual action penalty"
Answer: With our recent changes, you're only charged when a customer responds to your quote with interest in working with you. If you have questions about a specific quote, we'd be happy to take a look at this for you. Just send us a message on Facebook with your email address and the customer's name.
Answer: We want to make sure you get the most out of our site and see a return on the investment you've made with us. Please give us a call at (800) 948-2034 when you have time so we can go over your concerns with us.
