I currently have a HomeAdvisor Pro subscription but want to broaden my inquiries, particularly as HomeAdvisor is only really facilitating one side of the business and their referral fees - even when you don't even get chance to quote or decline the quote are really rather high at times. What's the deal with Thumbtack? What are the costs to the service provider and what's the process?

Don't waste your time with thumbtack. They are frauds. Read about it. They post fake work requests and pros like you and I bid on them thinking they're a potential job but in fact they aren't. Plus, thumbtack would be the worst downgrade to Home Advisor. I would compare these two company's to fishing. Thumbtack is a man who never fished before. He goes to Walmart and buys the cheapest equipment and gives it a shot with little success to real in some if any fish (clients). On the other hand, Home Advisor is a man with years of knowledge about fishing. He has the best equipment and with that, he catches the best fish (clients). So my experience with Thumbtack is that they only seem to attract the cheapest work request customers for us pros. Not worth your time. You can't make a living with Thumbtack's leads.
