I unfortunately overlooked the fact that my provisional patent was due to expire in approximately a little over a week. In a panic I followed up on a heads up email that Tien had sent me back in June to inquire if the options he outlined were still available to keep my provisional patent date of a year ago.
When he indicated that a PCT application would retain my provisional patent date plus add an additional eight months before having to file my non-provisional application, however a PCT application typically takes 6-9 weeks.
He told me they would do everything in their power to complete the PCT in a little over a week. I was cautiously optimistic when I authorized them to prepare the PCT application... well they over performed and got it done on time in a very professional manner. I intend to do much more work with them in the future.

Filing a patent is a complex and complicated process especially for a novice like me. Without the help from the team of "Thoughts to Paper" I would have been lost. There is also the issue of the technical language and the quality of the drawings. They are well organized guiding me through the process step by step. Communication was excellent. Thank you for for the kind words. One clarification on your comment which is the PCT will extend the provisional patent date an additional 18 months, not just 8 months. So ending date of the provisional + 18 months. Be sure to file non-provisional patent applications in all countries desired, before the PCT expires at 18 months after the end of your provisional application.
