The folks at Thoughts to Paper are incredible. They take their time to explain the process and give great advice every step of the way. Not only that, they are good at what they do and with their help we were able to get our first product patented, with hopefully more on the way. In addition, their pricing is extremely fair. I highly recommend them!
Great experience working with Thoughts to Paper. They have a team dedicated to serve the clients with excellence, integrity and vision.
They definitely exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them!
If you have never worked on getting a Patent and have no idea what you are doing Thoughts to Paper is the best choice you could make. Tien was my first contact and he was great and answered ALL my questions through the entire process. When they assigned me to Jackie the engineer she was fantastic. She took my rough ideas and multitude of thoughts and condensed them into a fantastic Patent pending document that was concise and brilliant! At one point I purchased something we later concluded that was not necessary and they gave me back a full refund! They truly are amazing! Thanks again Tien and Jackie and Thoughts to Paper! Michael
Our Patent Consultant Jay and Engineer Kamal both really understood the nature of our invention. They gave active advice on improving our patent presentation. The final product Thoughts to Paper delivered was far beyond our expectations.
The only thing I would change, would be setting expectations. Everything took just a little longer than the time stated, however, the final product was worth the wait.
Everyone is very helpful and friendly. My provisional patent completed smoothly without issues. The process took a bit longer than I expected but due to the pandemic, it is understandable. I do appreciate the professionalism of everyone involved. I have a few more patents to file and will definitely use Thoughts to Paper again!
This is a great team to do business with. Great communication from the beginning and throughout the process. They explained everything in simple terms and answered all my questions. Thank you Thoughts To Paper
This is my second filing patents by Thoughts to Paper in the last 4 months, first a design and second is a utility patent. Both of them went through nicely and clearly step by step. I am so happy to have them done. My contact person here is Ryan Iffland, Thank you Ryan. I will have 1 more patent need to be done, with bring it to you in couple months from now.
I would highly recommend Thoughts to Paper.
Like tony the tiger... you guys were... Greeeeeeeeat! Professional, respectfully and move my invention in a most impressive motion,,,,,, would highly recommend their service to family, friends to the entire world...
Thoughts To Paper was incredibly courteous and attentive to my concerns as well as my project. They helped me with each section of my project to the end. I was truly grateful for the swift response to my email and phone calls. L I truly thank Jay Chiao, Minu Manoharan, Tim, Trent Bolar, Nicholas Kim and Tony Chow. You guys rock!
I started trying on my own with US Patent Disclosure Document and my own mechanical drawings and electrical schematic work mailed to interested companies. I got copyright filed on the story of how it works basically. But no deals. Then I paid much with another company in 1994 to 96 trying to get it done. No progress. Then with ThtsOnPpr discussion after review learning a key thing about "utility" compared to "design" and now it comes around to filing with substantially improved content to the disclosure documentation. No one can guarantee govt result but this was more progress that I've made since I started in 1987... so I'm happy.
See The big picture and leave room for future innovation. Good to hear thoughts to paper will baby its clients, who may not have previous patent application experience, from the beginning to the application of non provision patent right is granted
From beginning to end this company was on point! When I was uncertain all I had to do was email or call them. Everything was explained in a manner that I could understand. They never made me feel dumb or out of my zone. I truly enjoyed working with them.
I have nothing but great things to say about this company. I have received 3 patents from them and each time they did everything in nothing but excellence. Tien is awesome and he is so patient, kind, and professional. The whole team at T2P deserves 5 stars. Anyone considering securing their invention should use their service.
Excellence... First rate every step. I worked with Yikai Xu. All of my question were answered with thought of my specific account in mind. I'm so appreciative to both Yikai Xu and Oscar Perez and everyone on the team. Thank you. Thoughts to Paper
Thoughts to Paper makes the patent process easy to follow and straight forward. I would highly recommend using them for all your patent related needs. Over the last five years, I have used them several times and had the same great service every time.
An inventor fears his/her ideas would be stolen and would want the fastest and most reliable support. Ryan responded on the spot and I was able to get my provisional patent playing on physical casino table games outside a physical casino in 3 days. Great work, thank you

I would recommend this company to all the inventors that I run into. They are very quick, professional, and most of all kind. I didn't have any trouble with their process. I was caught between two tasks when I chose their service. Daniel handled everything in sharp and professional way, which is rare in this business. They prices were better than some other reparable companies I know. I give them two thumbs up! I look to continue using their services in the near future.
I love the simplicity & professionalism of this company & highly recommend them for your projects. I most definitely will return with my future projects and look forward to working with the same exact agent & engineer because they now know what to expect with me & I with them. Which is a timely turn around of communications & interactions... thanks Ryan & Kevin!

Answer: You should apply for a patent application first. This secures your place in line with the US Patent Office so you can tell the company you pitch to that your product is "patent pending". This way, if that company steals your idea and files a patent of their own, they will be second in line after you, since you applied for the patent application first. A provisional patent application only lasts for 12 months though, and it must be converted to a non-provisional patent app before the 12 month expires, to keep the protection. However, this route of the provisional patent app, at least gives you 12 months to test the waters before you need to decide to commit to a full more expensive non-provisional app. Give us a call during normal business hours and we'll be happy to answer any further questions or get you started.
Answer: Roberto, yes, you could file a provisional application first and get 12 months to figure more details out. However, keep in mind that the provisional application can only protect what you include in the application, the information you have already figured out. For example, if you only have a basic idea and the details are unknown, you could file the provisional application for just the idea without the details yet. However, those details would not be protected in the application because they are not disclosed in the application. Put more simply, you can only protect what you know and put into the provisional application. What this means is, lets say you file the provisional application then 2 months later you figure out some critical details of your invention. You must be careful about disclosing those details you figured out 2 months after filing the provisional application. Because those details were not included in the provisional application, they are not protected yet. We would add those details when you convert the provisional application into a non-provisional application and only then, would those details be protected. We offer a professional level service for the provisional patent application which allows you to chat with one of our engineers. We can help you figure out a bit more detail than you may have so that you file a provisional application with as much detail as we can figure out at this time. This ensures that your provisional application covers as much as we can. Any additional details you figure out later, well put it into the non-provisional patent application when you decide to file that application, prior to the expiration of your provisional application. Hope that helps! Give us a ring during normal business hours and well be happy to help!

Answer: Patenting is our specialty, we are a patent firm with patent attorneys and agents. You would look for an invention manufacturer separately, or we can refer some that we know. However, we don't do manufacturing ourselves since we're a law firm.
