I mostly copy/pasted someone else's post because I had the IDENTICAL experience. Within 30 days I had NO traction on The Knot, but crazy sales through my website. When I tried to cancel I was informed I signed a YEAR contract - but I was told I'm billed monthly - I don't understand. The annual contract never came up! So now, I'm locked in for 11.5 months. "Wish I had read these reviews before getting involved with them. They treat their vendors very badly, customer service is extremely poor, they seem to be only interested in money. They charge a lot of money for very little service and limited tools. Further, the leads from the site are minimal in relationship to the exposure they give you for the cost. Never again, big mistake."

Mostly ads and the staff opinion on items related to Weddings. Not much that does not seem to be from paid advertisers. They also do not respond if you ask a question. I wrote in about an item two weeks ago that was in their shop and still have not heard back. Found something similar on Artfire.com and got it already, very happy and still no work back from this site's staff.

The Knot recently forced design changes to websites that have already been published. People's information is now missing, in the wrong place, duplicated, etc. The company has refused to correct this issue or provide updates despite over 100 customer complaints on a forum they created for people to discuss the problem. I think the forum was just for show--people who paid for their websites, sent invitations with website information, etc. are out of the money they spent now. I have warned my engaged friends to use another platform. Be warned. If you use The Knot to create a wedding website, they can and will change the design on you whenever they feel like it and you will be left looking like an idiot to your guests with a website that is cluttered or missing information. Save yourself the time of dealing with this company and AVOID The Knot.

Do not book here unless you want to cry and stress out before, during and after your wedding. The websites company is very childish and unprofessional. Vendors can write their own positive reviews which can look like as if the vendor is super good meanwhile they don't even show up! Scammers on this site and the company doesn't do anything about it as they simply ignored to answer people their emails regarding how they allow scammers on their websites. They only want your money, and won't give anything in return. Use another website to find your wedding planner!

Wish I had read these reviews before getting involved with them. They treat their vendors very badly, customer service is extremely poor, they seem to be only interested in money. Terrible
October 23, 2019

Don't do it. Can't stress it enough. They're a terrible company to work with and ignored several attempts on my end to communicate an issue. I was ignored for weeks by them as a paying customer because they didn't have a solution to the problem and refused to negotiate refunding me or ceasing payments.

Total disaster
April 10, 2015

Can no longer log in to my wedding website that I spent 4 months building. Can't access my guest list. Don't know how many invitations to order since I can't access the site. Have been sending emails and calling them for one week with no results. Total nightmare. Was planning to have guests RSVP through the site but not now!

For the price you have to pay its not worth it. You barely get leads no matter how much information you put ob your profile. The leads you do get don't even respond back to you. They lock you into a 12 month subscription and threaten to call collectors when you ask them to cancel. I expressed my concern of not getting leads and they told me to post more pictures on my profile, which is what I been doing this whole time. And the apps are terrible. Don't waste your money

I have been enrolled in the Knot/Wedding Wire for 9 months. I have yet to receive even one legitimate lead, but many fakes and several scams, one of which successfully deceived me and cost me nearly $3000. Add that to th $250/month fee and the entire experience will have cost me nearly $5000 without so much as a penny in return. The Knot may not be a scam technically but it sure seems like one to me. Clergy beware! We tend to be far too trusting.

Zero Privacy

They are unable to maintain privacy- even if you change your settings to private (after several months of contacting them & waiting) they are unable to keep your wedding website off of search engines. For some this may not be a priority, however for me personally, having dealt with some undesirable attention, this was a nightmare. Otherwise I believe this site is good, but the lack of control over your own privacy from the public is disturbing & detrimental.

Tried the premium spot for 6 months, was locked in to a storefront for a year. Even with the spent time and energy into setting up site, we are still upside down in our wedding side of our business. The customer service was horrendous. Standard was email, call, email again to get an answer. The responses never clearly answered our questions. Not as great as people think.

We spent hours filling in all of our guest info in the knot including grouping the guests by family and address and so forth. We did this seeing the invite feature and figuring that the knot.com would pull from this information. Then another hour or so into finalizing the design of an invite we ordered them at which point we were told they would send us a spreadsheet via email to fill out. Low and behold they want the same information in a completely different format. I tried sending them an export of the knot.com data we put in to no avail. After giving up and accepting that I would have to regurgitate this information to them in a different way they give very unclear instructions and note that you can add columns for extra info if you want... well if you can completely modify the format what is the point and why can't you just use the export from your own site? This is just pitiful technology in this day and age. ZERO stars.

This website calls itself "The Knot Worldwide"We recently tried to contribute to a honeymoon fund here only to find they will only accept credit cards from a US bank with a USA billing address. How is that a world wide service? Families are often spread across the globe.
Caused such a hassle trying to get funds to the happy couple before their special day.

I'm a catering vendor in the knot. The software doesn't work well at all. I pay 630 a month for broken software. Support is virtually useless seems like they can't troubleshoot anything without you doing it for them. Templates don't save and when they do the information is random and not what you saved initially.

If you pay for a spotlight it doesn't keep in the top 1-5 like I was told when I first signed up. Basically they lie to you to get your business and lock you into a 1 year contract.

You are better off not paying for the top spots you will get just as many inquiries without it. Slow over half the inquiries you get seem to be bots. I have 100 inquiry's with 20 responses.

I tried to post a review on vendor that I was given bad services and they kept requesting me to change the entire review. There argument was that they must be fair to vendors also. But then what about consumers? What about vendors who scam people out of their money for weddings? The knot is not authentic don't go by their reviews.

My family's photography business has been a client of The Knot for quite sometime. Recently, my father passed and the business closed. We were told to send a letter stating we wanted to cancel our account as well as the reasoning. We did this right away. We were still billed that month which we understood because it was last minute. This month, we will billed again. After numerous calls trying to get connected to the billing department, we finally connected with someone in this department. They were extremely inconsiderate of the situation and not helpful at all. They acted like it was our fault our family member passed. She could not explain why we were billed again and kept blaming the credit card company. There was zero sympathy for our situation. The agent was speaking to a woman whose husband had just passed and she did not care one bit what she was going through and how much tougher she was making this process.

All our reviews were 5 stars suddenly we get a 1 star that was full of lies it was so obviously an unhappy competitor even our customers came to our defense by writing glowing 5 star reviews. I spent hours with customer service and my "sales rep" and they just wrote me off and defended the phantom bride. I am the one that is paying these people thousands of dollars a year to advertise but who got the benefit of the doubt? Well it was not me and they told me to "you have the obligation to prove that it was a competitor" How about taking the side of the vendor who pays. What a joke! Once my contract is up they will never again get my business.

We had a potential bride try and force us to change our policies by leaving us false reviews. The Knot knowing this allowed the review to remain despite proving portion of the review were factually inaccurate. The only person at The Knot in charge of reviews is Lindsay. She has no check and balance and there is no escalation process. Don't bother becoming a paid customer, they don't care about you.

I am shocked at the customer service received by, The Knot Shop. I placed an order of several items on 12/1 with a "delivery before XMas guarantee". I had not received shipping information so I emailed last week, again told "Great news! You did place your order during our guarantee period for Christmas." I still have not received shipping information so I called customer service today and was told, "we are going back on our guarantee and can now not promise your order will be delivered before Xmas." I did not receive notification of this and was only given this information because I had reached out. I now have a cancelled order and it is too late to order personalized items anywhere else and receive those items on time. Horrible customer service.
