Is very expensive to be featured with them! They also have way too many vendors that the traffic is really not enough for all vendors. You might get some inquiries however, that doesn't mean that the leads had also messaged other vendors which at the end the minute the leads finds a cheaper vendor they will go for them. So the amount of actual clients booked does not bring business after you pay the yearly fee. At least not for the beauty section because beauty services does not bring thousands of dollars with one wedding. I think that as a beauty vendor is not worth it. The leads you get are not really of quality & they are also seeing your competitors. You be better off paying for SEO to drive more leads of quality looking at your website.
Don't believe all the reviews you see on the knot for their vendors. Many of the reviews are fraudulent. They pay their own people to write reviews for vendors they've never even met. I know a DJ that got three reviews, and none of them were from any brides he ever booked.
The Knot has some issues that have caused me to drop them from my advertising budget. Allowing another company that does not pay for advertising and then uses my company name in their reviews to steal and mislead the brides. I have shown them cease and desist letters to the company in question, but the Knot does not care. I am a paid advertiser for 10+ years. They are not at all. Plus ANYONE can now win the Best of award. Not just paid advertiser but non paid. What is the point of being on here if paying gets you the same as someone not paying.
Tried to write a review for a local DJ service. They removed the original review saying it did not meet their terms and conditions. Wrote 2 more for the same DJ each time giving him only 1 star and written within their rules. They were both removed. Don't trust the reviews, they remove all low rating comments.
The knot is a joke. All of the leads are dead end leads or fake. As a photographer and this being my full time job I was really hoping that this subscription would pay for itself but it hasn't booked me ANYTHING and I'm paying $190 a month. They should be sued.
I advertise with the knot. It supposed to be the premier website for advertising wedding vendors. The site has many bugs and is hard to use for both vendors and couples. Don't waste your time or money. I am locked into a year contract even though I discovered how cumbersome the website was in the first week and told them I wanted to cancel.
I really don't like this wedding website. I thought it would be really good because I see advertisements for them EVERYWHERE. I signed up to so a website. I immediately began receiving spam from them. The website is not user friendly at all. It says that there is a blog before you sign up, but there isn't one. Or if there is, I haven't found it. When I finally did figure out how to use the website and I put all of my wedding information down, I clicked save and it deleted everything!. Do not use this website.
Don't Count on the not to accurately reflect your registries. It's cute for introducing your wedding party and giving your story. But add your own registry card to your invitations. This site kept dropping major department stores from the registry
The Knot Wedding Shop has worse than terrible customer service, as in NONEXISTENT. They are going back on their "delivery by Christmas" guarantee, leaving countless holiday customers in a lurch. I have trying emailing and calling about my order status with no response. I checked my order today to see that one item was cancelled, the rest of the order still "processing." Was I notified of this? NO. Will I order from this company again? H*** NO! I suggest all the other unfortunate customers of this company to report it to the Better Business Bureau. They have a helpful link at the bottom of their page!
As a Wedding Professional The Knot and WeddingWire have helped increase my exposure on the web. I'm almost through a full year and it's been a success so far for collecting reviews and featuring myself on a platform that couples actively use to plan their wedding. As a custom stationery designer, my business isn't a "necessary" service for a wedding so I would say the traffic I get is good! Highly recommend this platform for advertising.
Thank you for the review! We're so glad to hear that you've had a great experience and that your business has benefitted from your partnership with The Knot and WeddingWire!
Vendors can write their own reviews and post them on this website.
Also consumer reviews are not verified so anyone can post a review.
No guidelines or rules for vendors or consumers.
Mind blowing of how these people are still in business with the amount of negative reviews.
The knot has the absolute worst customer service. They don't have phone service and they don't get back to you quickly over email.
They misinterpreted my email and deleted my wedding website! Something that I paid for and is on my invitations. I've been emailing but of course - no response. I'm completely screwed and I feel absolutely helpless.
Do yourself a favor and go to wedding wire. The knot sucks!
Christine S., I completely agree. I haven't found theknot.com to be helpful in planning or managing my wedding. Weddings are frustrating and I just needed a place to vent and GET ADVICE. I turned to the knots forum and was received by nasty, rude women who had more put downs that a middle school bully! There were a few who did try to offer advice but the board bullies attacked them too. I know the Internet opens up a whole new world of "opinions" but jeez. Needless to say, as Christine S. Stated if you want REAL advice go elsewhere. The trolls on theknot will just trash talk your post trying to make you feel like an awful person because you're experience isn't theirs. I feel sorry for those women, you think they'd have something better to do like plan their own wedding rather than hound message board to make snotty comments!
I honestly can't figure out what's keeping people coming back to these sites (The Knot, Wedding Wire, etc.).
There is a reason why they lock you into a year's worth of payments for premium listings. If you were able to pay on a month-to-month basis, you'd cancel after the first month.
For those considering signing up, don't.
A sales person will call you, talk you into a listing, and have you paying for a year's worth of advertising at the click of a button. There will be no walking through of contract, terms of service or cancellation policy. Before you know it, they'll have you locked in (under the premise that they'll get you tons of leads) and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.
I'm truly curious - has anyone successfully been able to cancel without actually canceling their credit card?
We apologize for any negative experience you've had. Like everyone else, I purchased during the "guaranteed" holiday shipping promotion. Ordered 12/2, items have been in processing ever since. Called their customer support today and I was told they aren't even sure if some of my items are out of stock/back ordered or not because their warehouse and online inventory aren't connected in any way... I don't know how a company can have such terrible supply chain management...
I had many personalized items in my order and their willingness to let me cancel without question makes me think they haven't even gotten started on personalizing my items (most likely because they are out of stock). I thought I had all my Christmas shopping done.
I understand that things happen, but they are being so unprofessional by beating around the bush. I wish they would've just told me a few days after I ordered that everything was out of stock.
Very disappointed. Will not be using this site again.
Like many others... I spent hours plugging in 280 guest names and emails only to find out you can not send an EVITE!
Your guests have to go to the website on their own and RSVP from there.
I would not recommend this site.
I also paid "extra" for a custom URL name... complete waste.
The Knot is run with fraudulent and deceptive advertising practices.
Their Vendor * Wedding Photographer was a no show at my daughters wedding, and she refused to return our very sizable deposit. I tried very diligently to leave a review on The Knot Web page warning future clients. I was able to document everything as per The Knots requirement for reviews. I've had multiple interactions with management each time promising that they will post my review, and still nothing posted. The knot seems to have a policy of only posting five star reviews. Please be aware before using this web page.

Hi Todd,
Please reach out to our Review Dispute Team by emailing reviewinquiry@theknot.com so we can further investigate this for you. We look forward to hearing from you!
I receive soo many spam inquiries and all extreme bargain hunters. The sales team was also relentless once I showed the slightest hint of interest. They called over and over again, stepping over boundaries and use high pressure sales tactics. I wouldn't give them your real phone number, but would recommend giving them a google voice number instead (yes, it was that bad). And then as soon as I signed up, literal crickets. I only have a few months left on my contract, thankfully (they make you sign for 12 months). Overall, it's 100% not worth it. Total scam.
Hi Lizzy, thank you for letting us know about this. Your feedback helps us do better. We'd like to learn more about your specific situation and make things right. If you wouldn't mind sending us a private message with your business details at your earliest convenience, it would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you!
Received several inaccurate reviews, they had the nerve to indicate I was lying then demanded proof or a court order to have removed. So guess what, I called me attorney and had to spend thousand of dollars to get it removed.
Reviews should be based on contractual agreements only. Joe Smith should nto just come in and give a false statement. Turns out they were competitors trying to ruin my rep.
Go with Wedding Wire instead. No proof = no review
I ordered a few items for my wedding but it took damn near forever to receive my package... Some of the things were doable... But within minutes of taking the plastic off and opening up "The Knot Expandable Purse File - Swirl" this raggedy cheap $#*! thing tore and the clip that holds the marker broke off when closing it back... no wonder it was on sale... it's a joke! Never again though! And you want a star, LMAO I think NOT...
Answer: My honest opinion... do not use theknot.com for your wedding. It crashes often and can be extremely frustrating. Believe me... I used it and was locked into using it because it was on all of my invitations. My best advice: use weddingwire.com. But, if you're not going to listen to my advice or are locked in and stuck as I was, go to your wedding website (not in preview mode) and click on guest list from the dashboard... well... After 9 attempts, TK will not load properly so that I can step you through it (everything else on my computer works great). Sorry, that's all I have for you. I hate theknot.com!
Answer: Tell them the same thing they say to you when you contact them for help in any way! "I don't think it is in our best interest! You are on your own... Good luck with that!"
The Knot has a rating of 1.7 stars from 390 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with The Knot most frequently mention customer service, credit card and wedding wire. The Knot ranks 79th among Wedding Planning sites.
I would love to look at this with you a bit more. PB and WS are one company and while we are partnered with them we don't always have access to the updates they are sending, which may include pulling a registry down. Happy to help though! registryhelp@theknot.com, Attn: Keri - Let me take a look along with you.
