Cheese cake factory has not trained its Toronto staff in basic customer service concepts: Acknowledge when customer informs you of a problem. Look into the problem. Don't be disrespectful to customers. Is that too much to ask?
Before opening time, they allowed people to line up at 2 different doors. We didn't even know there is another door somewhere else. At our door there were 30+ people after 45 minutes wait. Staff came and saw us through the glass door and removed the 'closed' sign, but kept the door locked. We saw through glass door that other people are coming in like a flood. That is when we realized there is another door. We kept waiting and they periodically came and looked but didn't open the door. Finally I went to the other door and told the front desk 'hosts' that there is another long line at the other door. I asked them to open the other door, too. Not only they ignored me, but one of them even made a snide comment as I was leaving. I went back and we kept waiting but they didn't open our door! They saw us and ignored us. Finally I went to the other door again and asked for manager but they tried to block me. I persisted. They tried to intimidate me by aggressive behaviour and even pushing me aside but I didn't leave. When this scene got attention of all customers, they finally acted like reasonable people and let us in. But they still didn't open the other door! They didn't even go to explain anything to those 30+ customers waiting! They just ignored all of them!
The manager came to us because I had complained and tried to justify her decision by saying: 'I couldn't open both doors because I don't have enough room to seat everyone!' So what? She ignored 30+ customers waiting at the other door without so much of an explanation? I told her: 'It would have been prudent to put a note on our door asking people to go line up at the other door so you won't create this situation'. At least then she accepted it was her fault. The so called Hosts even don't have that decency.
I only stayed and ate because my wife wanted to try that place. Food and our waitress were fine but going to a restaurant is about feeling respected, not just food. I would never go back to a place that is so disrespectful to its customers and ignores them.
I suggest you go to any other restaurant. There are many good restaurants in the vicinity. Ignore this restaurant because if you go, they will ignore you!
When my friend told me about his delated flight from Brazil, I went to happy hours to waited from him at the Cheesecake Factory. I ordered a glass of wine and a salad and I waited and waited for that deliciously free bread that many times before was serve to us. But, the bread never arrived. My friend arrived and told me that he was very sad about the flight... I gave to him the happy hours menu, but he told me oh not, I'am so, hungry, I will order a meal from the regular menu. Then he said no bread? I said not bread, most be it had be eliminated from being free!
More people arrived to the happy hours, American people. The bartend that was serving us, went a served drinks and freed bread to all of them. My friend was done with his diner and told me I don't feel good, and he left. I wanted to stay there... and I ordered more wine. I asked to a couple sitting closed to me,"are you paying for that bread"? She replied, oh not, it is for free!
I felt wire, thinking most be the bartend did not like us... you know, my friend and I, we was spoken Brazilian langue while seating at the bar.
I requested to speak with the manager on duty and told to him my concern about the bartend service. The manager gave me his business card and told me call that number and explain your concerns.
Next day, I called the head courters and explained to the Manager about our experience at the Aventura Cheesecake Factory.

Answer: They are there just not very helpful when you need assistance.
Answer: I guess I didn't research it because we all wanted to go to the Cheesecake Factory. Instead we went to Uncle Julio's which was a little more expensive but very good.
Answer: My entire family likes items on their menu. My daughter is a very picky eater and that restaurant has things that she likes to eat so that is why we tried to choose that restaurant but it didn't happen.
