Maybe things have improved but I have not had the kind of problems other people have complained about. I had no problem uploading 230 1099s from QB. I haven't had any trouble figuring out how to enter data and prep forms for filing. I like the fact that you have time to make changes after upload and before efiling unlike other 1099 software programs I have used in the past. I am not sure I am happy about the printing options but still looking into that.
This program is easy to use & easy to import information into from Excel. However, what company does NOT have support and extra help on a deadline day? Their system was down & not working from at least 11:00am - 5:00pm on January 31st. I called multiple times & attempted to chat with a support person & there was no response. No message on their website about an estimated time of correcting the system. Stay away from this company!
Hi - I'm sorry to hear that our support team wasn't able to answer your questions. Our site was running slowly yesterday, but was still functional. We had several thousands of forms filed through the platform yesterday. I do hope you were able to get your forms filed, and I apologize again for any issues you may have encountered.
I just did my 1099's and when they emailed me my receipt it stated that the e-file date would be 02/06/17! Which means I will be filed late and have penalties. I have tried to call - They say to go online for support - Well, that is a joke. I asked about this 25 minutes ago and it states they respond within a "few hours" THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I am going to go ahead and print out and mail. I had attempted to get this question answered before now on when the deadline was. All they would give me is the IRS deadline. DUH... I know that. I kept trying to find out when THEIR deadline was to file on time, never got an answer. These people are scammers and I am very disappointed in Quickbooks for sending me to their link!
You can not download a copy of the 1099s as filed. This company replaces the TIN with xx's. Therefore, you have no proof that your 1099s were properly filed. And if your recipient does not get the mailed copy from this company then you have NOTHING to give them. Do NOT use this service.
Hi small b, you can download the copy of 1099, both payer and recipient copies, under Forms->Manage Forms after you've made the purchase. For the TIN truncation, it is an IRS recommendation and also a Treasury directive, so that's why we automatically truncate the recipient TIN. You may unmask them at anytime. If you have more questions, please send us an email at support@tax1099.com with subject SiteJabber. Thanks! -Tom
I was a new customer this year and thought integrating from my Intuit products might be easy but turned into a nightmare. The import tool would not import new data but would only import the incorrect file even after deleting the file. Called customer service and they were very little help as they could hardly understand the nuances of technical communication required to explain the problem. Finally blocked the submissions but they did not tell me that there was no way to stop the incorrect 1099 copies going to the recipients. Recently found this out when recipient for two 1099s for the same amount, one from tax1099 that I had blocked/ canceled. E-mailed their customer service today and got a reply that basically said if I was too stupid to use their tool I was at fault. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE - they may be an Intuit partner but they are not reliable and cause more issues than their service resolves!
Hi, J. M. -
We're so sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with us! The import process can be difficult to initiate, and we're sorry that you had difficulties with it. I'm also very sorry that our customer support wasn't able to provide you the help you needed. For future filings, please live chat with us, and we'll help you get the mapping and import set up.
When you select USPS mailing, those requests are processed immediately. This is to make sure your vendors get their forms as soon as possible. We alert you to this when you select the USPS option. Additionally, PDF's of your forms are available to view and edit before submission - I would suggest that you take a look at these before submitting a filing.
I used for tax year 2018 for my two companies... no problem (or at least I thought so then).
Fast forward to tax year 2019 and it is nothing short of a nightmare. First of all, for one of the companies, it shows my 2018 records under 2019 to be filed in 2020! Didn't they file it in 2019 and hence shouldn't be filed again? For another company, it shows nothing for 2018 and nothing for 2019 even though I filed 2019...
I have no way to know and customer support couldn't help.
Will not recommend it, will not use it again... what a pain.
This program is TERRIBLE. It would not upload the data correctly, then once uploaded it kept trying to change the filing date to next week. It also would not let you file them without selecting a method of delivery to the recipients. When selecting USPS it charges you to have THEM mail them. It does not explain this until the end, after you have paid for it. Then it states they won't be mailed for 3 - 5 business days! They are due to be mailed out today, so we are mailing ours and TAX1099 I guess is mailing them, but I cannot get a hold of anyone to tell us that is truly the case! Tried to print them, have to print each individual 1099! I will NEVER use this product and do not recommend that anyone else does either!
Hi Annette, sorry for the frustration. In regards to the printing, what you can do is goto Forms->Manage Forms and click on Download All PDFs, and we will process the batch on our servers and automatically e-mail you a direct secure link to download the PDF containing all your copies. This way you only have to print once, and not individually. Hope that helps, if not, reach out to us at support@tax1099.com. Thanks -Tom
Not only have my clients received double mailings, but the information I entered online IS NOT what appeared on the mailed copy! In one instance, the Payor name is last name, first name no space, like it's all one word, and in the other instance the payee social security number is incorrect. Online, I looked at the information I entered for each form, and there are no errors. There is no credibility for what was actually sent to the recipient or what was sent to the IRS, if what I entered isn't what got mailed. This site was an automatic connect from QB, and I'll be registering my complaint with Inuit as well.
There is no customer support. Noone ever answer the phone or when you try to use the online chat it takes them 30 min to reply each time. What a waste of my time!
Hi Vera S., can we schedule a time to speak about your experience and make sure you're taken care of? Send a e-mail to support@tax1099.com with subject SiteJabber. Thanks-Tom.
Used BDC and QBO imports for my 1099 test run for this year and it was able to pull appx. 1200 records in no time from BDC and 637 qualified vendors from the QBO.
Bill.com feature looks more exciting as it filters vendors based on threshold.
Found your site to be super easy to use for my handful of 1099 NEC filing, TIN match was a great help in ensuring correct filing, Super quick and inexpensive, Thank you!
Thanks, Jennifer.! We're glad we could help you complete your 1099 NEC reporting requirements.
Impressed with the fully integrated feature like TIN match, W-9, and efile. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a fully integrated solution around 1099 compliance.
This is my first time using an online tool to efile my 1099 forms and the experience was great. Just wondering why I did not move from ugly red form to this tool.
Hi, Mason! Congrats on becoming an eFiler, and thanks for using Tax1099!
I have always issued our 1099's through the quickbooks application. That was no longer an option, as QB has started using this service. I never could get my info to automatically transfer, which wasn't a big deal, I thought. I only had 5 vendors, so I just manually added all of the information. The lack of email confirmation was disappointing, but I could see they were scheduled, so ok. The status forms load very slowly, and in addition to that, I could never locate an option to view the status of whether or not the forms had been mailed to the recipients or not. I used the online chat for that. The chat session was ok. The guy walked me through how to run the report (you actually have to export a report to excel--there isn't a place on the site that shows status of mailings. So I did that, and discovered they were still showing "scheduled" to be mailed. That was still ok, as we were still in the the deadline. That was approx Jan 26, which was about 2 weeks after I initially filed. But I just checked today, and it shows my federal submission as "processing" which according to the key means they've been submitted but waiting on the IRS to approve submission. Fine, but the quickbooks app I used to use had a 24-48 AT most hour turnaround from filing to acceptance! Anyway... I did a new exported excel report, and the status of forms to be mailed to recipients still shows "scheduled". It is now Feb 3. I will not be using this again. And I really hope quickbooks does not either.
Hi Angie, my deep apologies for the experience. There are many things we are working on post-season to improve this. Can you PM us or send us an e-mail at support@tax1099.com with your contact info Subject: Facebook? I want to reach out and hear your concerns and answer any questions you may have. Thanks, Tom.
Year-round TIN match that is super inexpensive + option to issue W-9 for mismatched TIN is what I like the most. I use this system year-round and file all my 1099 MISC and 1099-K forms for both federal and states by 20th of Jan. Did not really see any major issues except a few slowness
The tool worked for me and actually worked a little better than expected. I would recommend this tool to anyone looking to efile prior or current year 1099 and W2 forms.
Oh my. This is the worst company. NO ONE answers the phone. My 1099s were imported 5 times and I had copies everywhere. No gives a solution on their fake chat line. They have the wrong e-file date in their software and it is UNCHANGEABLE. When you ask on the chat line they keep copying their non working solution.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. COST ME OVER $5 PER 1099!
Hi Sara H., can we schedule a time to speak about your experience and make sure you're taken care of? Send a e-mail to support@tax1099.com with subject SiteJabber. Thanks-Tom.
Used this Website for the first time to file my 1099 Misc and K form. Impressed by the ease of use and features. Definitely coming back for more filings
Great product and round the year support for 1099 NEC efiling., I was super excited to see how QBD could not support my prior year efiling for clinets that I had recently onboarded and Tax1099 could go back 3 yeras and let me complete my prior year 1099 MISC and current year NEC late filing. Super affordable and great support.
It was a very smooth filing experience with Tax1099 compared to my desktop software that took hours to setup. Separate state efiling support was a big plus.
Answer: Hi, Michelle! If the state is a participant in the Combined Federal State Filing Program, the IRS will forward important information from your federal filing to the state. While some states have additional requirements where state withholdings are concerned, as a general rule, you won't need to send a separate filing to the CFSFP state.
Answer: Hi Roxanne, We have made many improvements, including a streamlined dashboard we will be moving to the site in a few days, additional staff for the deadline period, and a number of customer requests from last season. We will have some user training sessions beginning in November to familiarize customers with the updates. If you are a registered user on Tax1099.com, look for an email inviting you to register for one of those sessions in the next week or two. If not, send your email address to support@tax1099.com, and ask to be included when we send those invitations. Thanks!
Answer: Hi TW, thank you for your candid review. We'd like to reach out to you and resolve any issues when it is convenient for you. Send us a note at support@tax1099.com with subject SiteJabber and we'll make sure you get taken care of. Thanks. -Tom
Answer: Hi, Stacey, Yes, we file to all 50 states according to the most recent filing requirements of each state! Whether the state requires a separate eFiling, paper filing, or CD-ROM, we've got it covered. It's important to note that you'll need to submit any additional state filing forms at the same time you submit the federal eFiling - once you've submitted the federal eFiling, you won't be able to go back and file with the state in a separate transaction. Let us know if you have any other questions! Tax1099
Answer: Make sure you do not have local system restrictions due to configuration of antivirus software, firewalls, etc. This can cause plugin to not open. Saw some article on this when we had similar issues last but no issues after we used the first time.
Answer: Hi, Jerry! When you eFile, the IRS doesn't require a 1096. We have one available in your account, if you'd like to print it for your records. To access the form, click the "+" icon in the top right corner of your Tax1099 dashboard screen. You'll see "Generate Summary (1096/ACA)" in the column on the right side. Thanks! Tax1099
Answer: Yes, we are an approved vendor for IRS. You can e- file with us.
Answer: Hi, yes we can file the Massachusetts filing along with the Federal filing as long as the dollar amount exceeds the threshhold limit. If it doesn't, then the state doesn't require a filing.
