I hired two movers & was left at my storage unit waiting with all my stuff I had just closed out the unit thinking I was moving TaskRabbit did not fix the situation what's so ever but told me I can have $10 off Its says they charge you when Task is completed but instead they charged ahead of time without telling me I'm so disgusted by this service They also cut my chat with the movers so I couldn't speak to them I will never use Task Rabbit again
I had my brand new home completely ruined by a super dodge so called handyman. ALAA E is his name! Do not hire him! Complete con!
I had a very simple task for him to put up curtain rails. He completely damaged my walls. I brought up the poor quality of his work with him and he completely denied having any part in the damage. And said if was my own doing. I cant see how that would be possible with the huge holes made behind the rod.
The curtain rod is also not straight.
I didn't see the damage initially because it was dark when he left and the following day I had a trip. On my return I saw it during the day and was completely shocked. I've tried to go through the complaint with task rabbit but they have also tried to say I'm at fault. I am left completely out of pocket at least a few hundred and feel ripped off! Don't hire handymen from here. Get a proper tradie! You're not covered and you are dismissed even when you show them proof of the damage. I have very clear photos that show undeniable proof of his poor work!
Terrible. Task rabbit is a terrible company terrible they don't pay their Tasker‘s and they steal clients money they don't fix a problem they don't email they don't do nothing do not spend your money for their services you're going to get terrible service I'm telling you I'm a Tasker almost at a five star rating they don't help their good Tasker‘s get paid or nothing but they'll send bad Tasker‘s to mess everything up for one they don't pay their good Tasker‘s two they don't email they don't fix the situation they are a terrible company please don't waste your money on them find someone or another company that is closer to you You just better off doing it on your own..
I have used Task Rabbit for errands and shopping for groceries. My taskers have all been wonderful! They provide a necessary service, especially during the pandemic. So grateful!
I wasted about 20 minutes trying to sign up for Task Rabbitt - after providing my credit card it took me to the next screen where it asked for my SIN #, BANK ACCOUNT #, and BANK TRANSIT# Obviously I am not going to provide this information so I bailed out of the registration process. Also be aware that there are limited categories. I provide complete home painting services and this was not a category to select so again I caution people to stay away.
Large mirror installed by tasker came down 3 months later thankfully no obvious damage. I paid my Super to remove the mirror and he showed me the extra hole in the wall and only one screw instead of two on that side. Tasker did not centre mirror and had to redo it - maybe he broke the screw and did not say a word. No wonder the mirror didn't hold with a screw missing. Taskrabbit support was no help - they won't do a thing if it's after 30 days. A mirror should not come down at all! Chat with the tasker is disabled after 24 hours and no review can be left once invoiced. Support will not allow client to contact the tasker, they emailed him to contact me and he has chosen not to. No repercussions for the tasker. 2nd and 3rd support reps said the matter was escalated the 4th said no escalation. I attached photos and explained what happened to no avail. Asked to speak to someone more senior also refused. Their policies are rigid and just leave the client frustrated. I paid an extra fee for their guarantee, and chose a tasker with higher rate as his profile said 'I'm bonded and insured you get what you pay for' yet am out the money and have no recourse but to hire someone else to fix what went wrong. I will never use Taskrabbit again.
I needed next-day assistance to move an armoire from an already loaded vehicle into my home. Having had good experiences with Taskrabbit previously, I booked two movers for the next morning. The next morning brought torrential rains, so I contacted both movers directly (as directed by Taskrabbit instructions) to re-schedule. Both were able to re-schedule for the next morning. One arrived as scheduled, the other cancelled literally within 60 minutes of the move. This news was delivered to me by email by Taskrabbit central communication, so I didn't see the email until just before the other mover arrived. The Taskrabbit email indicated that they had tried and could not find a replacement. Stressed out I realized I would still have to pay the mover who showed up, but yet he would not be able to move this item alone. I started calling other nearby moving companies and neighbors to find someone who was available to fill in at the last minute. This cost me an additional $300 on top of the fact that Taskrabbit charged me double for the mover who did show up (I was charged a two-hour minimum for their mover which was double the agreed upon cost---the booking agreement was for a one-hour minimum) for a job that took literally less than 30 minutes. I subsequently learned that they have very taskers- like 18 people-- in this very large metropolitan area, so be careful- you may be stuck and it will be expensive! They have no back-up options if your movers decide to "no show."
DO NOT USE TASKRABBIT.
Hired a cleaner for a small 1 bedroom place that is in good nick as it's cleaned thoroughly regularly.
1) Task Rabbit doesn't show you their fees next to the taskers costs, they bury it deep in fine print. Expect to pay ridiculously high fees (more than 30%). You also only get to see the total amount you're going to pay after completion, and they even make this amount hard to find or dispute. You're at the mercy of the taskers lies (they can say they worked for 3 hours when they worked for 1, then good luck trying to get your money back).
2) More deception from Task Rabbit - they hide bad reviews on their website (you can only find these on the app, and they make it very hard to navigate). I also question the legitimacy of their reviews.
3) The person who came to do the cleaning deliberately took a long time to rack up their fees. In two hours they half cleaned 1 bathroom, which needed only a light clean, and nothing else. No vacuuming, dusting, mopping nothing. The bathroom was poorly cleaned, and we had to clean everything again. The tasker even said that the apartment was clean before they started cleaning so what were they doing in the bathroom for 2 hours? I asked them to leave after two hours and it was obvious I was being swindled.
Save yourself from wasting money and being swindled…don't use Task Rabbit!
Below is my message to TaskRabbit because when you call them, they say message them. Well, the response to my email was: For urgent issues, please allow 5 to 10 business days for us to respond. Are you kidding me? Never ever again will I use this service. They have no control or even care about the people they contract with.
My message:
Hello. I hired a tasker and he did not show up on the day we are moving. We really needed his help. He put us in a bind, but when I spoke to him the day before he said he'd be here. Then he blamed your office and said you should have called me because he was already booked for something else. Which is a big lie. His name is xxxxxxx in Atlanta, GA. I want to put a bad review on his page ASAP. He then proceeded to give me his moving company's number as he was soliciting for his business. I am beyond outraged. If you do not let me put a bad review on his page, then I will contact the Better Business Bureau and submit a complaint for your company. This is just so ridiculous to book someone and the person does not show up, lies, and then advertises his business. You should reject him as being a tasker and no longer allow him to be on your site. He should NOT be allowed to do this to other customers. We have no idea how we are going to get another person to help us move. We paid for our truck and your service will not allow us to book someone else ASAP. I am so upset right now. Your service literally screwed us and is costing time and money.
I was use the service of this thing called taskrabit and was no great service the guy was here late and with clearly drunk beahivor! I reported this to the company they promese me to send other one and the did but was a non professional person he was uknown the messures in the metric! No never again Don't use these company is only a waste time and also expensive! For nothing!
I was charged over $105 for a trust and support fee, but received zero support when the Tasker canceled the appointment 3 hours after he was supposed to have shown up! This site is a rip-off.
Don't use TaskRabbit, The yard work labor who agreed to help me out today cancelled FROM THE JOBSITE 1 hour before she was scheduled to start! All communication with both the contractor and TaskRabbit immediately disabled.
Hired a tasker for $35 an hour for 2 hours. Instead of getting a $70 bill I got a $120 bill. $49 in fees that was not expected. Cannot afford to tip my Tasker. Talk about a rip off!
Just had a job completed the worker was EXCELLENT but when I got bill was more than expected... they charge the fee per hour I thought per job they have no problem putting the fee up front BUT the fine print "per hour" on the last page. I will NOT use task rabbit ever again
I have used this app a few times to hire taskers. In all cases they did great job. My only complaint is how terrible the app is. It's difficult to navigate.
A tasker arrived at my place to fit a kitchen unit and panel, its looks terrible and he's damaged my panel. Task-rabbit have distance themselves from my complaint.
I'm a long term tasker in the UK and if I was anyone about to use Task Rabbit, I'd honestly reconsider your actions, they try charging for two taskrs when only one I required, they have no tests to show the competency of the actual person coming fitting your products, the whole company is a shambles, I'd keep your data safe also as they keep all your card information and can take payment without your consent if they feel a taskr has been shortly changed. You'll find the whole process a shambles and in the person who has to go to tasks to explain myself as I'm the face of task rabbit so we have to deal with any issues arise with missing items and missing personnel.
Phillip came to my house to build a wall unit
He was on time, he was very kind and professional. He did a great job and in a very timely fashion. I would recommend him to everyone
This app is NOT user friendly. When you have an issue, your ONLY option is to e-mail them and wait a day or two for them to respond. What a waste of $20!
I just want to warn you that there is no way to get an estimate from them till they get to your place. Once there, demand an estimate (and have knowledge of how long a task typically takes) or they would take all the time in the world, according to the very tasker that came to my house. ANYHOW, I had him put together a drawer unit for the garage (I had estimated that it would take me about 2 hours). He then delivered within the estimated time. I needed a second unit to be done also, which should have been ONE hour. But he was tired and said that I should set up another date. Which I did. He came and finished in about 30 minutes. I was about to pay for one hour, when he explained to me that it was his minimum 2 hours, even though he had agreed to continue doing the project from the day before. On top of that Task Rabbit has a mysterious charge for safety and trust of almost 50 dollars per visit. So, In my estimation I was had for about 100 dollars (the unexpected 2 hour charge and the safety and trust charge). I protested but he refused to back down, and rather than having an angry man in my house, I just paid for it. HE DID A GOOD JOB, but MAKE SURE that you ask all sort of questions, and be clear on the most minute details. I cannot recommend this outfit.
Answer: Mine responded and loved to chat. At the end, he cancelled the appointment. What a waste of time. Very disappointing.
Answer: Hi Carlos, thanks for your inquiry! When registering, a form of payment as well as bank info is required. The form of payment covers the cost of registration and the bank info is linked to your account so that you can receive payment from your Client once you begin tasking.
