I needed someone to move small furniture (several chairs). Task rabbit kept matching me with workers who did not have a van or truck, although I told them the job would require a van or truck. They also took my debit card information and wouldn't let me cancel the job. TaskRabbit grabs onto your credit/debit card and makes it hard to cancel. It's a confusing site and process. I was able to find a friend with a truck to do the job the same day. It may be better to rent a small U-Haul van or truck and give some homeless guys a chance to earn a few bucks.
You pay $25 for their non-refundable fee. You never get tasks. It's a waste of the $25 fee. Good concept. But you're in charge of promoting yourself and clients only look for 5 star reviews. Can't get those if you don't get tasks. Deleted my account.
We've completed around 30 tasks on this platform, NEVER AGAIN! There's ZERO quality control over the workers. Very common to have people overbill you, not complete the task as agreed upon, ask for more money, perform atrocious workmanship, take jobs they're not qualified for, show up late, etc. i'd estimate around 30% of projects have MAJOR problems, requiring you to re-book another worker (and of course, waste more money).
The issue is there's little/no recourse! If you try to get in touch with this task rabbit, they simply ignore the problem. They will suspend YOUR account without warning/notification, and when you inquire as to what's going on, they simply say "there's an issue, we'll contact you in a few days" (which of course never happens).
You have to end up disputing the charges with your bank.
Been burned by these idiots far too many times. Hire a professional company instead, it'll cost you FAR less time/money/headaches than dealing with these amateurs.
My first time booking a Tasker, the guy cancelled that morning, said his car was in the shop. Gave him benefit of the doubt, and we rebooked. He was also very prompt in response at first, so I was willing to be flexible. The day he was supposed to arrive, he never showed without any communication. No way to get a hold of anybody to help. There is way to "phone" the tasker but they don't need to pick up. AND there is no way to RATE your tasker if they never show. Thus, everyone looks like they are doing a fabulous job - 4.5-5 stars for all! It was a waste of time for us, and I will never use this service again. Allow the customer to honestly rate the tasker from beginning to end- otherwise the reviews are not credible.
I used to be a tasker for taskrabbit. I did a full on move for someone and they never paid me for the job and havent contacted me even after I sent them receipts and proof of hours. I put my own money out for the job and never got reimbursed. The total for the job was over 1300. I have to seek legal counsel now. Taskrabbit is a scam!
Ils ne sont jamais venu! Pas d appel rien. Ils ont Zero Respect pour leurs clients j ai attendu et même pas un coup de téléphone pour aviser d un $#*!. Pas surprise ils sont avec Ikea!
My Tasker was over an hour late, yet I was charged for the hour anyway. The best they could offer was a $20-something credit for future services. I also got charged an extra $60 fee for some nonsense. I will never use them again. Horrible customer service too.
Do not let your tasker leave before the task is finished because you will get billed regardless of the result. The skill level of taskers varies on the platform and there are some really unprofessional taskers that could make the situation worse than before. Customer service is unhelpful and will terminate the chat while you type your response, which is a very unethical practice.
This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Ended up sending him away before he did the work as he was not prepared for the job and wanted to grossly over charge me. They sell it as by the hour but it's by the "task". Misleading and deceptive and not experienced "taskers".
We needed our IKEA dressers and Pax wardrobe assembled on a Saturday morning. I had never used Task Rabbit before and we were a little apprehensive to try their service with such a large project. Afsu was the tasker assigned to the project. He arrived exactly at 9:00 and did a great job. Very nice guy. I would absolutely use Task Rabbit again and I would request Afsu.
My Tasker was cool. He did the job, no real issues the cost was a little more than I expected to move a couch and a chaise lounge from Harlem to Brooklyn but he did the job BUT Task Rabbit charged me twice for the job! There was no one to speak to about this glitch in there payment system and no one got back to my urgent email regarding this fact. Over $700 was taken out of my account. For a $280 job! I can't use them again. I can't afford to do so. I have submitted a claim against them from my bank so I can get that credit back to my account. Meanwhile I am completely pissed off an I have no one to speak with. They offer a live chat but I don't have an iphone so I can't chat with someone. Task Rabbit get your $#*! together.
Just a warning that this company does absolutely no checks to assure their workmen have any qualifications to complete the tasks. If any of them happen to cause damages, the company takes almost no responsibility. They will rebate less than half the value of the work if the damages are small and none whatsoever if more than one workmen causes damages.
Its a fantastic platform but they dont pay taskers much, other platforms take around 30% but this company takes almost half of what tasker earns, which drives taskers taking clients outside app. Maybe thats what Taskrabbit think, that taskers steal clients so lets charge them properly! Surely some will do but most taskers want a security payment and prefer to do it on app.
Or you should introduce system where more active taskets get higher commision. But anything over 40% is too much sorry.
Horrible. Had a bunch of furniture from Ikea assembled. A wooden dowel was lying around afterwards. The "rabbit" said there were always extras. I also found 5 washers that were never installed. Plus my dining room table was dented. Now, 3 months later, the bookcase has fallen apart due to the missing dowel. Taskrabbit will not compensate me because of legalese, meaning dishonesty-ese.
Not only did they send me an inexperienced punk, he arrived 2 hours too early with a big mouth. After all the caos, he stated he'd return at the assigned time but never showed up. I received an email finally stating that he had canceled last minute. Ended up using a different company who was half the price, prompt, clean and fast
I've read a lot of reviews about TR and most of them were not favorable due to unreliable Taskers or errors in payment.
I should've listened. I used TR for the first time needing help moving a hutch from my storage unit to my condo (less than a mile away). I explained all of the details and chose a Tasker (Joshua) based on no. Of tasks and his reviews.
We communicated back and forth and I said if he was not available to please let me know and I would make other arrangements. The night before the task (Saturday), he confirmed that he could meet at 3:15 on Sunday. Then I get a notification on the day we're supposed to meet that Joshua is unavailable and chat was disabled.
I am extremely disappointed especially since it's Sunday. I'm not using TR again only to have another person bail.
Listen to the reviews. Should be called "Flake Rabbit." Deleting app.
Requested deadbolt replacement at entryway for next day installation. Tasker charged 80+$. Then kept texting asking what tools they needed and to send pictures. Sent him a picture of existing lock. He ignored and sent a message saying he could not do the job. MY credit card was charged anyway.
Taskers don't know what they are doing most of the time, ripping customers off and taking hours and hours to do a job just for the $20 an hour mentality(which in tern is very low to work with on this app taking into account the number of available jobs and how some people take 8+ hours). I don't recommend for anyone to work for or with TaskRabbit, especially for IKEA furniture. You are left with a damaged product after someone's side hussle on the weekend when skilled workers from IKEA were put off from work. I think the app had good intentions at the beginning but so far now have ruined customer's experience at this store(at least in my city not talking about all). Only select from this app if you really can't use a screwdriver, but be aware of fake reviews, way too cheap jobs. Have a nice day.
Booked someone to come the next morning to fix my leaking toilet. They were to arrive for 8:30 but didn't show up. After a little while I noticed an email from them saying they were here but can't find my name in intercom directory and wanted to know what my buzzer number was. I responded but because 30 minutes had passed they left. He said I didn't provide my phone number so he couldn't call me. I checked my profile and my telephone number is there. When I told him this he said it wasn't working. My phone works perfectly fine. He didn't have time to come back till 4 days later. So I cancelled the task and was charged his hourly rate of almost $60.00! NOT HAPPY
IKEA bought taskrabbit. When I bought a bed a few weeks ago, and found out about having a tasker come assemble it, I thought GREAT! And boy was I impressed. The tasker that showed up was incredibly professional and polite, but got my furniture assembled in the advertised time. Couldn't have been happier.
In fact, I found the same guy, through the taskrabbit app and hired him to come back and do some general handyman stuff around the house. Amazing! This guy could do it all. And do it well. I am overly ecstatic about the amazing value of this service.
This was the tampa area so maybe things are different here.
Answer: Mine responded and loved to chat. At the end, he cancelled the appointment. What a waste of time. Very disappointing.
Answer: Hi Carlos, thanks for your inquiry! When registering, a form of payment as well as bank info is required. The form of payment covers the cost of registration and the bank info is linked to your account so that you can receive payment from your Client once you begin tasking.
