I was purchasing some IKEA furniture and was told in-store that the assembly would be provided by task rabbit. I confirmed day and time with the tasker some 7-10 days in advance. On the day of the task I received a message that read the tasker would be unable to complete the job. A day later I was charged with $30 for the no-show. This company is a scam! They don't provide any services and charge people hidden fees. Beware!
They lost my items and I was overcharged for the task. It has been 3 months since I let them now and they are thieves who is not replying back to me and returning my money back. Worst company ever do not work with them I recommend they create a department and call it customer support.
So I needed 2 bushes dug out of my front yard and decided to give task rabbit a shot. As a new customer I followed their directions to set up my account and this did include entering my home address and zip code. I was given a number of potential taskers who supposedly did work in my area and booked the job. When the young man I hired did not show up as scheduled I contacted him thru the app and discovered he had just arrived. The problem was he was in Oklahoma and I was in Massachusetts. Needless to say I am flummoxed as to how a service can claim to pair up clients needing work done with local folks needing work and not be able to figure out where everybody lives. And there is no phone customer service only email to rage into the electronic void. They better not charge me for their stupidity.
After spending two hours chatting back and forth with a "tasker", the guy had the nerve to cancel the order. You can't text or email. You have to u se their narrow notification bar on their website. It was driving me crazy. I called Ikea to tell them what happened, and they were horrified. They recommended 123move, and I have the assembly appointment all set now. It was a pleasure speaking to someone on the old fashioned telephone.
I tried over a dozen times to book someone for a relatively simple job that requires some lifting, which I cannot do. Each time either they were already booked (I thought I was doing the booking on YOUR site—and I also gave you my CC# to lock it in?) or they did not have the skills or tools. Really NO skills or tools?!? Here's the job:
There is already a notch cut into the countertop for the slide in range. I wanted them to continue the cut into the countertop another three inches for a deeper sized range. There was nothing in the way. No cabinets, no drawers, no braces... nothing. You guys were absolutely pathetic. I don't need anyone to take out my garbage. I need a handyman... which was nowhere on your site. Just because I never had work done by you doesn't mean I can‘t complain about your ignorance and ineptitude over my needs, or any other customer's needs, when trying to hire you.
After asking to change from 4 o'clock to 6 o'clock and waiting until 7 I finally understood he was NOT coming. No phone call or anything. I contacted the customer service and was told that the tasker are indepent contractors and set there own time this happened to me twice. Going back to Angie's list
After moving, all I wanted was to once again have my small TV mounted to my bedroom wall. After an extended period of time looking at the wall and I can only presume trying to locate the studs, the Tasker began drilling holes. Without going into all the details, after 2 hours and an absence on his part of
45 minutes I ended up with 12 large holes in the wall and the mount hung vertically. He said the pieces wouldn't fit the other way...WHAT?!?! At that point I asked him to pack up his tools and leave before he destroyed my entire wall.
I have twice attempted to complete the process to become a Tasker. Neither succeeded and no final communication was ever received from the Tasker. Responding to their emails is a no go as there is no human to speak/communicate with. However, they are quick to
To take your registration fee. This is a very poorly managed company IMHO.
Great site for hiring just about anyone to do anything. I like their heavy lifting section to assist in getting rid of large pieces of furniture. I once just used craigslist for a junk removal service and got 2 small girls attempting to carry a couch out of my house. They couldn't do it alone so I had to help. I like how taskrabbit vets the service providers.
Stay away from Taskrabbit. Unfortunately, they were recommended by IKEA designers. Went through their website and booked a one day job. Taskers left not even half way through the job and canceled. Customer service did not offer a resolution other than going on my own to find someone to finish the job. Taskers have no experience or training. Not recommended
I have used task rabbit 3 times now - two for carpentry and one for electric work. All three takers were prompt, professional and very skilled. Prices were very reasonable as compared to other quotes that I received for the work. I will continue to use them as it's always something that needs fixed!
I had scheduled to have a well rated tasker complete a job 2 weeks in advance. He requested all the specifics which I gave him in great detail. 2 hours prior to the scheduled started he cancelled on me stating he doesn't have a stud finder when he knew what the job entailed well in advance. I tried calling TaskRabbit and they stated there was nothing they can do. Took the day off and they waisted my time. I'll never use them in the future.
The idea is right but the people in charge as well as the support center don't have a clue what they're doing and don't seem to care. The last straw was when they had me drive to a job that they already send two other taskers to, did not inform me and refused to pay me for my time after it was wasted on their behalf. Their ethics are garbage, don't work for them.
Hired someone for moving our stuffs in Ann Arbor area and he took 4 hours to complete a 2 hours job. He was super slow and didn't have any idea about what he was doing. It's extra cost and frustration for us.
After signing up and requesting assembly for a Besta cabinet from Ikea, I had a tasker accept the job, then cancelled, then another took the job. When I ask if he'd ever assembled this product from Ikea, he said no and cancelled. Signed up again with the help of Ikea. She took the job, cancelled the job, and then wanted it job back. Since she said she'd assembled this product "3-4 times", I was glad she came. Took her over 4 hours to do a job that Ikea says should've taken an hour or less and still didn't get the doors on right. I'm in touch with Ikea so we'll see how they handle the problem?
I hired Sasha Kohen to complete 3 tasks. She completed 2 and said she needed a better part to hang my light fixtures She left and never came back. She did not return my phone call. Taskrabbit took way too much money out for what was done and did not check with me to even verify the work. Never Again! I feel lied too and ripped off.
Taskers have no liability to show up at all. Furthermore, if the tasker claims it's you who needed to cancel, you'll be charged an hour of your tasker's regardless of whether or not you actually canceled. Customer service is trash, and they will not give you your money back. A cherry on top is their service charge - 40%?! Absolutely not worth it. Do yourself a favor and hire a professional who will actually be responsible for the work they do.
We had a very bad experience with Tasker Santos C. We had to pick up three pieces of office furniture and move it to our house. Santos agreed to do this job and we scheduled at a time convenient for him. On the day of pick up, he was supposed to arrive at 10 am at the pick up location. When we didn't see him at 10:05, we called him. He apologized at that point that he was going to be half hr late. This was already unprofessional as we had to apologize to the folks at the pick up location who had to leave for another errand. We continue waiting until 10:50 and give Santos a call again, at this point he let's us know he cannot make it as his truck broke down! This was extremely frustrating as we planned this task 2 weeks ago! It was irresponsible of Santos and I will not recommend him to anyone. Task rabbit should hold responsibilities on ensuring tasters don't cancel task at last minute! Also please note, you cannot write a review on the Tasker once the task is cancelled!
I haven't actually gotten to the point of the plumber actually arriving. I made the first appointment with a featured tasker with many 5-star reviews. He was supposed to come 12:30-1:30. I gave him my phone number. He messaged me through the taskrabbit system he was on his way. At 1:45 he messaged me that he cancelled. Taskrabbit charged me $98 on my charge. I rescheduled another plumber for the next day as the first did not give me an alternate date/time. The second messaged me and said that he would be 7 hours delayed. This is my first time using the service. Will likely be my last. This is super unprofessional. Hopefully the work is more professional than the scheduling.
I hired someone recently to paint a hallway and small bathroom in my home and the paint job was sloppy and unprofessional. Task Rabbit does not allow taskers to bring additional parties to the job site and she brought another person and they did a terrible job. In addition, Task Rabbit has a Trust and Support Fee added on top of the taskers fee that is excessive. I paid over $200.00 for the paint job and there was an additional $100.00 fee added on top. This is ridiculous. When I called Task Rabbit's customer service to ask if they could credit me some of my money because the paint job was so bad and they offered me $80 + $10 to use on another task. I refused. This app does not have good quality painters and I do not recommend. The Trust and Support Fee is excessive and burns through customer's pockets.
Answer: Mine responded and loved to chat. At the end, he cancelled the appointment. What a waste of time. Very disappointing.
Answer: Hi Carlos, thanks for your inquiry! When registering, a form of payment as well as bank info is required. The form of payment covers the cost of registration and the bank info is linked to your account so that you can receive payment from your Client once you begin tasking.
