I worked for TaskRabbit for about 2 months. They did not pay me a dime of the hundreds of dollars they owed me. It was a simple issue that needed to be resolved with payment, but customer service is almost non-existent and dragged on the process until the amount owed was substantial. This is a SanFrancisco tech giant who does not give a rat's $#*! about anyone who is actually out doing the work. Stay away from this company at all costs. I'm owed hundreds, and at this point I am considering legal options.

What a bad experience. I hired Mauricio L. Spagnuolo through IKEA 's service and this yahoo emails me saying he can't do the job for the price IKEA commissioned. He demands 100 euro more as if he were a plumber or electrician complaining that the economy is bad and he's self employed. IKEA was paying him more than his profile asks. Less than 24 hours notice. What a jerk.

Do yourself a favor and do not ever even consider utilizing this company. Even if you choose a Tasker with supposed good reviews, they are likely to damage your belongings with absolutely no recourse. TaskRabbit as a whole is unwilling to try to rectify any sort of problem in an acceptable sort of way. Instead they'll just try to deflect any sort of blame or responsibility and not compensate for hundreds of dollars worth of damaged items caused by their Taskers.

Terrible experience! I hired someone to re caulk a shower he was an hour late and after he did the job literally the next day the caulk started to come apart. I was also told $45 an hour and after some "task fee" of $95 a 2 hour job cost $220. I reached out to the company about the job not being done correct and no help at all, they asked if I wanted to hire someone else! I called my CC and disputed the whole thing. I will never use this company again!

I was unable to schedule for a task that would require two people. Several attempts were made with the help of the "Taskers"...who were trying to help. System may work as long as you only need one person - not able to comment on that. The support chat system is likely run by AI - time consuming and not sufficiently sophisticated to actually be responsive.

This was our first (and last) try using task rabbit. We had a refrigerator to pick up on the other side of town. So, there's a bunch of movers with trucks and dollies to do it. Sweet! But we placed the task, it was accepted, and then the tanker cancels an hour before. That has happened 4 times over the last week. In the end, I'm just going to rent a Uhaul and do it myself. Because the new tech/gig people are unreliable and apparently the platform just keeps them around. Good luck with that.

Taskrabbit is very much on the side of the money. It does little to protect its taskers from the whims of the public who use it.

Clients are free to leave negative reviews full of lies and taskrabbit will not change them, even when presented with clear evidence of the lies.

Clients are free to choose incorrect categories of work and then just write a completely different list of demands. For example, they can select "delivery" (intended to be delivery of small items such as clothing or food, as specified by taskrabbit itself) but it will actually turn out to be a full house move. There is no penalty to the clients for this.

Clients are free to add extra tasks on the day and make extra demands not agreed upon, if you (as a tasker) decline, you are subject to negative reviews even though the client breached the agreement.

When jobs go well, this app is a dream, when they don't; it's a nightmare.

I've worked for task rabbit for maybe three months, when things are fine and you complete your tasks well enough, all is ok, but as soon as there's even the slightest problem which may not even be your fault, the start messing around with your account, for instance; you can book your hours or expenses, you cannot contact them for support, even worse, then reduce your ratings for no aparant reason.

I read about Task Rabbit in an LA Times article and logged in and referred them to a friend. I have used a handyman--and loved him so much he's been back three times. He is exceptional, very skilled and conscientious. And I used someone else to pack up my mom's place after she died. He was also good--had initiative and was responsive and flexible. My friend used someone to clean up her closet and was pleased. So I would recommend you to others, based on my positive experiences. TB

I also signed up to be a tasker, went through the video training and attempted to download the task rabbit app for taskers. I was unable to open on several different occasions and did not get any response from tech support. Unfortunately the $20 application fee is not refundable and it seems that Task Rabbit is ripping off many people. They should be reported to Better Business Bureau.

Would not recommend TaskRabbit. I hired a couple people from there. Biggest problem is that the people who did the work enter and were paid for their hours without my approval. There is no mechanism for the person hiring to approve hours. Free for all on my credit card.

Hire a tasker at your own risk. Mine hung a large mirror that fell off the wall a few days later. Mirror cracked and baseboards damaged. $381 to fix the mirror and $500 to fix the floor. TaskRabbit only offered me $381 and some offer of free takes for five hours if I use them within two weeks. I'm out $500 and the tasker still got paid. There is no insurance here and I had the same experience as another reviewer. Hire a private contractor that has insurance.

I'm a big fan of "gig" apps like this one, but TaskRabbit fails to deliver on a number of fronts. Most importantly, the Taskers themselves are unreliable. They book jobs and fail to show up. They don't respond to job requests. And, it is almost impossible to follow up or track your jobs. The app developers need to rethink the platform. (May i recommend Rover.com... excellent app and process... TaskRabbit could learn a LOT!) Finally, they need to have a better way to vet their taskers and hold them accountable. If i can't get someone to shovel snow properly, there is no way i'm going to have them do electrical work!

Don't Use Them!

We hired them to put together an ikea dresser. I asked the guy if he ever put this dresser together before and he said yes but at the end of the day admitted he never did. They quoted 3 hrs to assemble. One hour in I noticed something didn't look right and a piece was bowed on the front because he assembled it wrong. Later when he was putting all the drawers in one was crooked and 2 other pieces were put in backward so holes showed. He tried to say that was just how it was. I told him that was unacceptable and he then took a shortcut when trying to correct the problem and ended up breaking a piece. 6 hours later we were left with a broken unfinished dresser & he had to go. He said Ikea would have to pick up the entire piece of furntiure and replace it. When we called Ikea they said I could come in and get a replacement part. I would never use them. The guy was inexperienced and careless and had the nerve to ask if I would pay for half his parking - really!?!?!

Please do not use this Service, Impossible to talk with a Customer Service Rep. Hired Austin, on Sunday, Nashville, TN. Project change out a Bathroom Light Fixture. He was asking me how to do it and why the lights did not come on. Ask me what tools I had for project. Took him 90 minutes and light doesn't work. He left to do another Project and has not returned my calls. UNREAL!

The "tasker" didn't just breat the glass table top. THey took off with the base as well. Incredibly bad service by the company after that. I was charged the full job and have zero recourse. Never again

Apparently it's okay if you book a tasker at their advertised rate, explain the task, they accept, and then shortly before the task they ask for more money and when you say you will tip and that you booked them at their listed rate, that's not good enough so they will cancel on you at the last minute. Customer Support apparently "supports" this practice and does not support the client. First and last time and telling everyone I know never to risk it. Wow, it was so easy to book and then everything fell apart, impacting me and the three people I had set up at either end of this task. Shame on me for not researching reviews first.

Taskrabbit is one of the most elusive sites of communication for customer support. After paying $20 resistgration, they could not answer me with an expediency commensurate with gathering of my credit card information. And then nothing. NO BAD REVIEWS?

The assembler didn't count the number of handles before he started drilling holes in the cabinet doors. Then, when he said he was done I went to check on the job and realized there were three handles (the IKEA lady had told me there were two per package, but there was only one). Then, the installer tried to dismiss it and said I didn't need handles on the other doors. Plus, upon inspection, I found that one of the handles was installed with a gap. Very sloppy work! Then, after the company charged me, and I complained and told them that I was going to file a claim for the doors if I couldn't get matching handles for all of the doors, they removed the option to rate the tasker! For reals! So, this guy did a sloppy job, tried to over charge me (he wanted to get paid for installing five handles when he only mounted three), dismissed the errors he made, and now I can't warn others about him! BS! Do not use task rabbit! Terrible!
