“Positive Review for Grape Vine Purchase”

There were so many negative reviews for this nursery that I hesitated buying from them. But, they were one of the few places I could get the Grape Vine varieties I desired. So, I placed an order and held my breath. I know satisfied customers are less likely to write a review. However when a merchant does a good job they deserve positive comments. The grape vines I received were quickly shipped, appropriately packaged and extremely healthy with excellent root growth. They should make a great addition to my home vineyard!

I have bought a plant on-line from that nursery. It came dead rotten from the box and disintegrated in my hands. I contacted the owner, he claimed that his dead plant is my fault, as I did not follow his instructions. 1) The instruction was not in or on the box 2) None of the instructions can revive a plant that arrived dead. I shop a lot on-line, including buying live plants, and this is exceptionally rare experience; very irresponsive, unwilling to cooperate owner getting rid of substandard plants

I ordered some plants in August, they promised shipment in 4-6 weeks. In October I sent an email requesting an ETA and expressing concern because I live in a cold climate and it's not safe to ship plants past October. It's November and I have not received a reply or any plants. I was charged at the time of order. I don't recommend ever doing business with this site. It's a ripoff.

Don't buy from this site. I didn't receive my plants or a refund.

I ordered an almond tree from this place in April. Originally, I ordered a larger tree than I received. However, by the time my tree was mailed (3, almost 4 months later) they only had a smaller size. They said they were swamped with orders and asked me to be patient. They did give a partial refund for the diff in price. When I received the tree it was dry and all the leaves you see below fell off when I stood the tree up! I was told this was normal "this time of year" (not yet Fall!) and to soak the roots in a bucket of water 24 hrs then plant it. I kept the tree in shade where it could be watered easily. The tree never recovered. Also, I have two healthy, grown almond trees from a diff nursery, and neither of them have dropped their leaves yet! I am an avid gardener and have ordered hundreds of plants, bushes, trees, fruits, etc. The few times I have had problems the nursery responsible always made good, no questions asked. THESE people kept going back and forth with me. In one email they said they would send a replacement, but then they recanted and literally called me a liar! Do NOT order from these people! I lost $80 on one small, pretty dead tree!

Poor packing, terrible customer service, doesnt honor own policies. Wish I had read reviews and saw the BBB score of F, before trying to by from a family owned company

Do NOT do business with this company. The website stated that orders would ship in 3-5 days. I messaged the company after not getting an update and the owner sent an odd reply about packing up the wife and horse trailer to get more plants…but no estimated ship date. After another week of no updates, I sent another email requesting info and received a reply that they items would ship that week or the next. A couple weeks later I emailed AGAIN, and the owner said they didn't have one of the two items anymore and could go ahead and send the other item if i would like. I ordered two plants for Mother's Day and over a month later they still haven't shipped and don't even have both items? I expressed my disappointment to which the owner sent a very snarky reply and mentioned that shipping delays were referenced on the home page of their website. That's fine, but 1) you have to scroll way down if you're ordering on your phone and miss it all together if you use their search function, 2) they messaged stating the items would ship within a week at one point and they still hadn't shipped 3 weeks later, 3) they didn't even have the items! And 4) they took my money the day I placed the order. I received my refund, but this company is a nightmare to deal with and completely unreliable. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

I purchased a bougainvillea from this nursery online and received it Mid August. They explain to you that they send bareroot plants and give you explicit directions on how to handle planting the plant. Several times in the directions it says if you do not follow the directions to the tee, your guarantee is void.
When I received my plant, it did not look fresh. Bareroot plants often don't look that healthy, often dormant, but with the proper planting you should get a healthy plant. I followed the directions they sent me and I continue to water and after a little over a month I still see no difference, no new growth, greenery, nothing.
I called and spoke to a gentleman who basically said the only warranty is if you send it back within 7 days. How was I suppose to know, that at the time, this bareroot plant was not going to grow and what guarantee are they talking about on the instructions? It can't be the warranty of 7 days.
I order a lot of plants, especially fuchsia plugs on line, and I have never had such a bad experience. Occassionally, I would get a damaged plant/plug but I've been told, give it some time and if it doesn't survive they would sent me a replacement.
Poor business ethics!

Tried to order a set of 3 different bougainvillea plants but PayPal would not go through. I closed the website and the next day, Mr. John Talbott contacted me personally and apologized for the PayPal problem and I ordered through him with my credit card. Because of the problem, he gave me the same deal at 25% less than the online order. The plants arrived packed very well and in good condition. Top of the line customer service.

Tip for consumers:
Email Mr. Talbott at *******@gmail.com for an order. It's more efficient and nicer. He is a very nice, older gentleman. (And that's rare!)

We had a good experience with Talbott Nursery. We had purchased two Asian pear trees and were dismayed to read that they require a Bartlett pear tree to pollinate. No one carried Bartlett trees locally and we had a heck of a time locating a firm that would ship to Hawaii. We were relieved to find Talbott Nursery and placed an order. On the day that our tree was to ship, however, I realized that "auto pay" had provided an incorrect "Ship to" address. In a panic, I called John at 5:00 am their time (my bad) and he cheerfully corrected the address. Talbott Nursery saved the day! Customers are reminded to read the instructions and first plant their bare root in a pot to allow it to recover. Our Bartlett pear tree is doing well. Thanks for the personalized service, John and Cristy!
