Make note of the low rating!

Poor customer service. They will try to rip you off where possible.

They charged me 160 euros for 2 alloys that were already damaged. My fault for not taking photos of the wheels before hand and only the body of the car!

Make sure you have sufficient insurance or go with another company.

No where near the airport either and not easy to find!

My recent car rental with this company was an utter nightmare, leaving me feeling cheated and disappointed. The entire experience was plagued by various issues that made it a total rip-off.

Firstly, I was hit with an unexpected additional insurance cost during the booking process. The lack of transparency and hidden fees felt like a dishonest attempt to swindle customers.

Upon receiving the car, I was shocked by its deplorable condition. It was disgustingly dirty inside and out, showing no signs of being cleaned in ages. The lack of care for their vehicles and customers was evident.

To add to the frustration, when the car experienced a mechanical issue during the rental period, the company's service was abysmal. Their staff showed no interest in resolving the problem, leaving me stranded and unsupported during my trip.

Moreover, I had paid for a 5-door car to accommodate my family's needs, but they provided a 2-door vehicle instead. The complete disregard for my booking preferences disrupted our travel plans.

Even worse, despite pre-paying for an automatic transmission, I received a manual car. When I raised the issue, the staff completely ignored my request for an automatic, showing a total lack of concern for customer preferences.

In conclusion, I strongly advise against renting from this company. The unexpected insurance cost, filthy car, terrible service, incorrect car type, and ignored request for an automatic transmission made it a disastrous rental experience. Avoid! Off site pick up, long waiting times, rude unprofessional staff, try to charge you for invisible scratches. Stole money from our bank account a week after returning home with no explanation. Our bank has now taken up the issue. Avoid.

Ever ever again, be aware of this fraduelent, money graping company, and thier partner company in turkey (active car rental) took 900 euros deposit on top of my rental, it has been over a month since I returned the car and haven't received my deposit back yet the rep was very rude.tried to sell me unnecessary insurance, and when I refused he was very disrespectful the car was dirty, brakes were loose with over 100k miles.very bad experience remember this name active car rental in turkey part of surpricr car rental.bunch of scammers.

Fraudulent

A punch of fraudulent. They make ever effort to lout you. Intially while renting didn't write the milage or the fuel consumption on my copy of rental agreement. I had to drive back but then he had to write it. When I returned the car it was rainy. He climed a drit sign at a very low corner of bumper is a scratch. It was absloutly nothing. He made it up because he didnt want to drop me to the airport as he was supposed to. Few days later I found that he cashed the $500 deposit. Perfect example for theives

2 months ago we rented a car for 1 week. We paid a deposit and they supposed to pay it back in 2 weeks. 2 months passed but we haven't got our money back. We are going to claim to court.

Dishonest, Rude, with No Integrity Whatsoever.

Deceitful and abhorrent, they have no integrity whatsoever and lying in my face; so they don't return my safety deposit, this is recent at Dalaman airport, December 2022. Beware and do not use these people. Very rude and unprofessional.

I've hired cars in the past in Italy, Greece, Spain, UK without any issues. Sadly in Turkey this has happened!

The SURPRICE representative for the delivery at the airport of the Fiat Panda, without further verification, immediately went to try the key because she already knew of the pre-existing defect, but to get me to sign and conclude the procedure she told me that the damage was related to the previous rental and that everything was fine for me. Landed in Italy I saw the charge of Euro 288. In any case, I inform all the competent authorities to verify the adequacy of the charge and the number of lock replacements carried out during the year on said car.

STOLE DEPOSIT

Dalaman Airport (regular renter) Returned car washed, clean,, correct amount of fuel, The operative found a scratch that was tiny. Proved by my pictures i took, it was there already... then went under the bumper and a hairline scratch magically appeared! 500 EURO deposit taken without email or notice. Chargeback has been issued... utter money grabbing scum... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY... REPORTED TO EASYJET ZERO STARS IF IT WAS ALLOWED

Terrible company! Don´t trust!

When we came to get our car at 03 in the morning at Tirana Airport they just told us they didnt have a car for us. No reason why, nothing at all - they had our order in their system and we had paid full in advance but still they just told us they could not give us a car. Not even a different one than that one we paid for. This was in the middle of the night and we had our baby with us. Instead we had to leave without a car and find a taxi that could take us for 1 hour to our hotel. The next day they didnt answer the phone and when we finally got through they refused that we had even been there! They said that the car had been ready but it was us who hadnt shown up! We had to show photo proof and plane tickets and fight with them and even write a police report and after 1 month we finally got a refund after threathening to sue them. An insanely bad company that no one should trust!

You just feel cheated

When renting, a lump sum insurance premium of 300 euros was proposed and that was done continuously, to say the least.
We did not take a TOL pass. So assumed it was removed from car. But that has not happened and it has not been said that you have to remove this road before you drive. On the highway there are transmitters that register cars when they arrive. So for each registration you have to pay 36.90. Shame they don't tell you this. In the end I have to pay about 200 euros. Although I have not used this pass.

They drive you to an office block miles from the airport in some seedy little office.
They damage your credit card in so that it is unusable then try to get you to buy their comprehensive insurance and if you refuse they call you a "no show" and keep your deposit. They have a "clean out clean back" policy which isn't mentioned anywhere which means you must have the car valet serviced or pay another £20 and they charge you £5 to take you BACK to the airport drop off zone.
Then just ignore your emails
And stay clear of CARJET who are just intermediaries and it is not possible to contact them post event...

Ordered a Golf size car at Venize airport. Flight was changed so I called them a week in advance and notified them. Asked if I needed to do anything else, but said no - all OK!
Arrived at airport flight on time, no shuttle. Had to call twice for the shuttle to arrive. When there, halfway through the paperwork, I am told that since I am late (!) they have given my car to somebody else and offer me the cheapest car they have (Fiat Panda). The norm is to upgrade at no cost in such circumstances. I point out I was not late and that I had to call twice for the shuttle. No help. THe whole experience seems like blackmail, stranded in a parkinglot in the middle of nowhere at night. They guy is deceitful and rude, constantly changing his story why they can't give me a proper car. The car park was absolutely full with other cars, as it was when I returned. The company has a fulll-to-full petrol policy. It came to me empty and the warning light came on after 30 km. Ended up leaving EUR 20 in extra petrol.
Never again! Walk away! They will use any opportunity to rip you off!

Pickup was the worst I have ever experienced. Drop off was perfect. The rental agreement states that there will be "Meet & Greet". I had informed them of my arrival time and flight number. There was no Meet & Greet. After waiting half an hour, I called them. They kept on lying to me that a car is coming to pick me up and it is just 5 minutes away. 1.5 hours after my arrival, I gave up on them and went to get a bus ticket. At time they called, to say they were outside the terminal in a private car. Me & another renter were taken to their office. The driver was the same person and the only person, who does the paper work. Took half an hour to do the other person's paper work and then half an hour to do mine. I finally got my car 1.5 hours after I was scheduled to pick it up and almost 3 hours after my arrival.

AVOID AT ALL COST! They are a scam!
Hidden costs (low published price to get you hooked), AND they will find any reason to slug you with damage fees (hairline scratch) if you didn't fully photograph/video the vehicle completely in good lighting on collection.
Their published price doesn't include basic mandatory insurance (unlike all comparable rental companies).
I got slugged for a minor scratch that could be buffed out, to the value of $500+.
A premium brand (Avis, europcar, budget, Hertz) would have been cheaper.

Horrible experience!

1 hour and 10 min waiting in line. Staff EXTREMELY RUDE and UNFRIENDLY. They treated us like we are stupid, when mixing English and Portuguese words and did not respond to me when I spoke Brazilian Portuguese. Company is very shady. Full of little extra things to pay and very poor explanation for everything. Just assuming we should know things.

Terrible experience on return. They take money from your VISA without any reason, without explanation and without notice. Apparently we had passed automatic toll gates on the way from faro to lagos, those tolls are registered on a small windowbox in the car. Checked, toll from Faro to Lagos is 6.60 €. Surprise Car Rental charges 180 € for this toll. Nice profit margins though. So they just take that from your VISA. And that is all possible. You will not see proper explanations and official evidence, so a hopeless story. For us the first and last time!

I booked a car in Antalya airport (Turkey). Nobody was waiting there for me when I arrived, I had to call them and wait. Later in their office the manager refused to give me the booked car saying that my cards are not credit cards and he is enable to hold a deposit there (the cards are valid, credit cards). So I had to stay in Antalya one night and rent a car in an another rental company (which had no troubles at all with my cards!). But I still have not gotten my prepayment of booking from Surprice!

Run away from this company

I rent cars at least 3 or 4 times a year and always pick up the best deal available. Never had problems before, and the rates this time were good. When picking up, a worker took about one minute tops, inside the shadowish garage, to take note of all the scratches. I didn't get a copy of that report - but there already a few minor scratches in several parts of the vehicle.
I went outside of Lisboa - to highways and other places where parking is not a problem and there is lots of space everywhere.
So, 6 days later, delivering the car, everything's different and I had two guys checking every millimetre of the car, under Lisbon's July sun. And they found a "new" scratch on the alloy wheel, a tiny-minor-difficult to see (this time I took the pic...) for which they charged me 170€, well over what I'd paid for the whole renting. So, I've read reviews after that and concluded it's their business model: cheap renting, then overcharging clients with scratches that were already there.
They go by different names, the documents are issued in "International Car", "International Car II" and "SurPrice car rentals".
PS - I dare you to find the 170€ worth of damage in the photo...

A few weeks ago I already posted this review. Surprice Car Rental has responded to this, but unfortunately no further action has been taken. That's why I advise everyone not to rent a car here. They have low prices but make money with "old damages"!

I advise not to rent from this company, although the prices are attractive. Between 8 p.m. and 8 p.m., a 35 surcharge is requested to pick-up or bring the car. This while they advertise as a rental company for Faro Airport! Picking up after 8 p.m. is a real problem because they have 1 employee at the office. In my case there was a waiting time for more than an hour and a half. They give me a different car than ordered and the car was parked in a dark corner and the gas tank was not full. The car had to be inspected in the dark, so that a small scratch on the bumper was not noticed. When returning the car a few days later, the employee immediately walked up to the almost invisible scratch on the bumper and said that this would cost 215,-. There was nothing to argue against this because the damage was not mentioned on the form! The car rental for 5 days actually came to 300. It's better to rent at a famous brand such as Herts or Europcar, to prevent disappointments afterwards,
