Hi all Hard working folks,

I confirm Supportbuddy.net is a scam. I have read the posted reviews from the last so many months. I was almost going to be hit by there racket. It all starts with a 'locked up' screen with instruction to call a toll free number - that's where cyber crime begins. The recipient of the call on the other side identifies himself as 3rd party company partnered with Microsoft. For solving problem they will like to remote login into your computer -Suspicious Behavior - (SB) #0 by telling that they are using remote diagonostic tools - (SB) #1. When I asked where are they located they would not tell - SB #3. For me three strikes and you are out. In fact I did further investigation of their identity based on which more than convinced that this case needs to be reported for cyber crime. I'm trying to find out who can help. If some one has any lead and would like to share and I'll do the rest.
Thanks. I hope you find this narration credible and at least protect your resources - hardware devices as well as your data.

Several years ago I used this company via the recommendation of another person. I had no idea I was still on their list of customers since I had not used them for some time. Recently, they began calling me again, and again and again... Then, they stated that this past May I renewed their services but I did not remember nor wanted to use them again. They debited my card (I checked and sure enough) for $299 but I do not remember even talking to them. Now, they are contending they are an official support technical company for Microsoft who is having problems with their software and my computer is about to crash and I have to pay them an additional $751. They began calling me every day and at all times of the day and night to the point they are calling around 5:30 a.m. and as late as tonight at 1:00 a.m. on an ANONYMOUS telephone line which does not display the telephone number they are calling from. Not only am I reporting this to as many places as I can because of the scamming but to the local, state and national law officials. I am getting my telephone number changed which I have had for about 30 years. This is a horrific ordeal for a recently widowed 68 year old woman who does not bother anyone for anything. I am having my own issues trying to deal with my precious husband's death and now these "Indian or Pakistan" (not American Indian) speaking people are harassing me. If anyone else is having this same problem, please report them to as many entities as necessary to get their licenses revoked

Scam!
May 2, 2016

I received a message on my screen that said that I needed to call Microsoft and when I did an Indian guy of some sort said that I needed to pay $199 and that was on April 15,2016 and and then on May 2,2016 I received another pop up message saying that I needed to contact Microsoft again and I paid $299 so finally I thought about it and I called Microsoft directly and I also looked up the The website support buddy reviews and noticed that it was a scam and I asked Microsoft and they said they they do not put up pop up messages saying that the individual is blocked from using their laptop or desktop device. So I called my bank to block the two transactions and the second message that said that I needed to pay $299 said that the first message was a false. The phone number is *******775, *******379, *******467, and *******391 be aware!

I, unfortunately and ashamedly, was taken in by this SupportBuddy for $300.00. They locked up my computer and the tech guy claimed to have cleared up some awful virus called "Koobface". Afterwards I checked a few review sites and found out about their scamming. I called them to stop their 'service' just to have someone on the phone with me for almost an hour extolling their legitimacy. When I insisted on my money back I was transferred to the billing dept, told I would get my refund in 10 days and was given an refund ID number. After waiting several days I called again to check on my refund. I gave the ID number I was given, which suddenly there was no record of. They asked for my customer ID and suddenly again, no record of it as well. I gave my name and as you can guess, no record. After having somewhat of a yellfest, now they found my account. My refund "has just been sent off, and will take 10 days". DON'T FALL FOR SUPPORT BUDDY, WHATEVER YOU DO!

My computer was updated automatically from windows 7 to windows 10.2 days later as I am still learning the new system I was going to a well known site by typing in the address when suddenly the while screen is taken over warning me that a serious malware had invaded my computer, If I open another browser or shut own the computer, I risked losing all my data and I should call a number. I did and I got a technician from Support Buddy. I spent 30 minutes trying to verify who they were and whether they could be trusted. I learned that I would have to pay at least $179 for them to fix computer one time. That was ridicules. I had Norton protection and never had a problem for over 5 years. I said I would call back. Using my laptop I investigated Support Brother and found this site. 22 #5 ratings, but 12 #1 calling them a scam. That is what I was thinking. I restarted my computer. No problem. I ran a quick Norton scan and found no problem. I then ran the full Norton scan and it turn up and isolated 3 high risk problems. I don't know how Support Brother had access to my computer, if it was through Microsoft or if they were involved with the risk files. It was scary and cost me several hours of downtime. But in the end I didn't need their repair and my Norton handled any problems that existed or had inspired the scary warning from Support Brother. All in all, I think it was a scary scam that prays on people fears of data loss to take their money. But you be the judge! Thank you to everyone who posted comments as you helped me save a lot of money. I hope my comments help the next people.

Rip-Off
June 19, 2017

This company (support buddy) is a scam. About a year ago (6/6/16), they called my cell phone stating that they were from "Windows" the big computer software company. They claimed that their computer monitors of the Windows software detected a damaging "virus" in my computer, that needed to be immediately repaired to prevent further damge to my computer. I allowed them access; they charged me $390.00; and told me that the $390 charge was for their ongoing service contract to repair my computer whenever I needed it for 2 years. In the next 2 or 3 weeks, the computer "crashed". I called them to repair the crash. The technicial put me on hold for 1 hr; then came back on the line and said he had to speak with a "supervisor" then will call me back. He did not. I called again next day, same thing. No call back. Same thing following day after that. I finally took my computer to a IT repair company who said that my hard drive had crashed, and that it needed to be replaced. I did that, and computer has worked fine ever since.
Now the Support Buddy company reps are calling me back (at least 10 times now), saying that they would give me a "refund" if I allow them to access my computer again. They claim that there is some kind of "form" that needed to be filled out. I asked them to send me the form by e-mail, I will fill in and return. They said they could not give refund unless I allow them to access my computer. I refused. They keep calling back. Same exchange. I think their scam is they make up an excuse to access your computer, then they put some kind of bad virus in it, causing it to crash. Then when you call back for repairs they want to charge you more money to fix it. If they truly intended to give me a refund, why can't they just send it by mail? They claim they can't do that because the "refund department" needs to be connected to the computer.

This is a scam. I found a notice on my computer saying my system was compromised and to contact them right away and to NOT ignore the notice. Stupid me. I called them at *******064. I spoke to a man who told me I was a "nice lady" but that my computer was totally compromised. He told me my credit cards had been used (even though the log he showed me did not have any of my credit card #'s - thank goodness!). He also said there were some pornography sites that had invaded my computer. He said it was a ZEUS virus and started to give me the sales pitch. I called STAPLES tech. Service on my other phone. The technician told me to disconnect from Support Buddy immediately and to bring my computer in to the store, which I did. $170. Later it was back to normal. I called Support Buddy and told them they totally screwed me up. I spoke to "Michael" who told me (his words, not mine), "If you call and speak to someone with a foreign accent you are being scammed - if you hear an American accent, you are not." I told him this was racial profiling and shame on him. He said he was based in Boca Raton, FL and this was legitimate. He kept talking over me and finally hung up on me. RUN, DON'T WALK, AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

Disgrace
December 2, 2016

I got a popup saying my computer was going to shut down and to call *******2246 to get it fixed. Later do i know someone was hacking my computer while i was on a phone call with them. They even turned on my camera. So i hung up and call again with the name of the agent i worked with only to find out he isnt an agent there. They told me to shut my computer off and he wont be able to work on it anymore. I am super pissed, i called again to speak with the manager and they wouldn't let me apparently if you haven't purchased anything from them you do not have the right to complain. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY AND IF YOU DO AND YOU GET AN AGENT NAMED PERRI ( ID BADGE # *******) DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION IT IS A HACKER.
