Snaptravel Scam
July 27, 2022

Snaptravel and its offshoot, reservationstays.com are scams. Four months ago, I clicked on an online ad made to look like the legit hotel company's ad. After making a phone reservation with someone who struggled to understand me and asked MANY times for me to repeat my information, I had a bad feeling and decided to cancel. When I called back (within the hour), I was told the reservation was non-refundable and they hung up on me. To clarify, the woman who too, my first reservation NEVER told me the reservation was non-refundable. I called back twice, no answer. Third time, was again told there was nothing they could do to help me. I told them I was reporting this as fraud to my credit card company. They hung up. I called my credit card company and was able to shut the card down before anything was charged. Fast forward to today, when I found a confirmation in my spam folder for the Snaptravel /reservationstays.com reservation. I called the hotel directly and they said I had a reservation through Booking.com that they could not cancel. Sooo... it looks to me like Snaptravel and reservationstays.com are taking info by phone and making reservations in the caller's name on legit sites like Booking.com. Since the caller doesn't know this, they are utterly stuck and forced to deal with Snaptravel/reservationstays.com. Fortunately, when I called the hotel directly and told the manager what had happened (and that my card had been canceled and there would be no reimbursement coming for the Booking.com reservation in my name), they overrode the "No cancelling third-party reservations" policy and cancelled my stay. Be careful out there. Caveat Emptor.

I made a reservation on the billed my cc. I had to cancel because the person on the phone made a mistake on the dates. I have been waiting 2 weeks for my refund. Yesterday they told me that my card was never billed. I have my cc statement showing I was charged. They sent me the cancellation and it clearly says you will be refunded in 7 to 10 days. I have spent many hours trying to convince them I was indeed charged. I have come to the time where I will dispute the charge on my cc. But do yourself a favour and don't book with this company. They will say you didn't book woth us than say you were never charged and on and on. Read the reviews! This is common practice for them. Don't use hotel planner.com reservation stay or snap travel. All they do is blame the other one. They seem to all affiliated.

I booked a room through them at a knights inn in Flint, MI which seemed like a dam dirty homeless shelter to begin with, and because my friend who was with me didnt have his ID they refused to give me my room that i already paid for through SNAP TRAVEL! Now i never listed i was having a guest. So my booty call was none of their business! But the snappy old $#*! at the counter i think wanted some of that strapping young man and since he didnt have his ID decided to be an $#*! and not give me my room! I went back to SNAP TRAVEL and they refused to refund me or help in the situation because they dont intervien with motels "policys"... I GOT SCAMMED FOR SOME CASH THAT THE ROACH MOTEL GOT TO KEEP. MAYBE THEY WILL USE THE EXTRA MONEY TO BUY SOME SANITATION CLEANERS, LORD KNOWS IT NEEDS IT! DONT TRUST SNAP TRAVEL. GO WITH PRICELINE. MUCH BETTER COMPANY THAT WONT COWER UNDER PRESSURE.

I am a single mom and booked a vacation for me and my two kids to Mexico. Upon arriving to my hotel in Mexico I was told by reception that my booking was made for two adults and one infant vs my confirmation of 1 adult and 2 kids and that unless I paid another $1000 I would not be able to stay at all! Easy enough to remedy if Snaptravel had a phone number to reach them in Mexico but they don't and the company that snap travel used to book this through (yes they are a middle man) confirmed that they were given the wrong info. So I had no choice to pay. I contacted snaptravel yesterday and sent them proof of their mistake. Rep said she would call me back when she got the email and never did (sent it twice) and today I got a hold of customer service and they said their system is down now to call back some other time! What a joke! They have a reservation guarantee that states they will 100% reimburse you if you can't check in. I was not only not able to check in but paid another $1000 (thank God for a credit card) to stay and company now saying they won't honor their guarantee because I did pay the extra $ to stay. At this rate I'm not even sure they will reimburse me at all for their mistake! A nightmare of a company!
Save yourself the headache and spend a few more $ or get stranded in foreign country with children in tow!

Snaptravel hides any resort/cleaning fees to make their prices look lower than any other sites. These extra fees are always included in the total price for any other reputable site like (i. E. booking.com or priceline) but snaptravel includes this information in a small "about" collapsible tab prior to any payment window and you are only hit with the full price after completing your booking (often non-refundible). When talking to their customer service about this predatory behavior, they just said that the information was available (albeit buried) and there is nothing they could do. I don't plan to use snaptravel again due to this exploitive practice.

This is separate because they are not charged by Snaptravel but rather mandatory payments to be made directly to the property and at their sole discretion.

The worst experience I have ever had when I used Snap travel to rent a room. I waited for like 3 hours… was still not able to get my room. I decide to go elsewhere and get a refund. Now I have been waiting for 5 days and they tell me I have to go through the hotel. BS!

Do Not Spend a dime with this $#*! site, we booked a stay after looking at 46 pics of the hotel and reading many many revieves, which obviously they themselves wrote, we booked a 3 day stay. Up on arrival i drove past the place because i thought it was a shut down factory, no it was our hotel. We checked in and saw the nightmare up close. We contacted snap travel after paying upfront and was informed they are a 3rd party booking site and we received in our conformation email no refunds. Well its kinda late at that point now isnt it. We called credit card com3and are doing a charge back. I'm gonna ear one night im sure but Never Ever ever again.
Snaptravels concern is themselves and there hotel partners only after they take your money. $#*! this $#*! site spend the extra 30.00 on hotels or book directly. Stay away from Snap Travel

We used Snaptravel to book a hotel on a cross-country roadtrip. We booked it a week prior, got there late at night after a long drive only to find out that the hotel never received our reservation from Snaptravel. The hotel was also FULLY booked. When we called Snaptravel customer service, they suggested asking for an open room... which we had already done because this company had no $#*!ing follow through. Keep in mind it's almost 2AM at this point. Luckily the front desk staff was able to get in touch with their manager and we got into a room, NO THANKS TO SNAPTRAVEL! This is their joke of a guarantee - "At Snaptravel - to help everyone sleep better, we make the promise that if in the rare case you are unable to check in to the hotel with your Snaptravel reservation, we will provide you with a 100% full refund. That's the Snaptravel guarantee!" When we asked for this 100% full refund, we were told that is not an option. After we got into our room, they called and offered a 20% credit. We will never use this $#*!ing scam of a company again. They lie. They take your money. They leave you stranded more often than not. If I could give negative stars, I would!

I reserved a hotel through Snaptravel in early July for the last weekend in July. I found out today my relative I am going to see has Covid. I paid extra to have a refundable reservation but come to find out, they only allowed me to cancel up to 3 days ago. I just found out today and contacted Snaptravel after finding out. The customer service person was not willing or able to cancel my room. I even asked to have my reservation moved to a different weekend but they would not help me. They could have made an exception due to it being a Covid situation but they won't. They asked me to give them proof of my Covid positive test along with a note from the dr but I am not the one with Covid. I am filing a dispute with my credit card company. I will never use this company again. The entire booking process was scammy. I should never have booked through them. I have learned my lesson.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM

This company is horrible. I booked with them for a trip that was 500 miles from my house. Then called to hotel to see if I could reserve a ground floor room. To my dismay the hotel could not find my reservation by name or confirmation number and said they wer already booked full for the duration of my trip. Then I called snap travel. They assured me not to worry, that my room was booked and reserved and to enjoy my trip. A week later we left on our trip. Upon arriving to the hotel I gt the deer in headlights look at the check out counter. They couldn't find my reservation by name or confirmation number and had no clue who I was or anything about my booking. They literally left me stranded. Then I had to scramble last minute and pay last minute prices to get a hotel for the night. Had to cut my trip short because all the hotels were booked for the dates we needed. They ended up refunding my money but that was not a solution. They left my family and i to sleep in the truck. Ruined our vaction and turned what supposed to be a great vacation into a stressful mess. Simply put, DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE if I could give them zero stars I would

Worst service ever
July 22, 2022

My family and I drove 5.5 hours to our hotel. When we arrive we find out there is no booking under our name. The lady asked me if I booked with snap travel. I said yes. And she said "oh no. This keeps happening here. ". So I proceed to call snap. They "escalated" me to an urgent care team. This is just a deferral to a team you can't directly get a hold of. After 15 minutes the "urgent care" team calls me. I explain. They say they'll call the hotel and then get back to me within 30 min. I am there when they call the hotel. They ask the clerk to check and check again. The front desk explains it's not there. The "urgent care" person says they'll call back. 2 hours later they never do. And my family, including my 4 year old, is left without a hotel at Midnight in St. Louis! How is this good service? It's not even worth the discounted hotel.

After a couple hours I contacted them again. They told me they didn't have a time frame. But earlier told me time frames both times. Why not give a time frame at the end? I just wanted a refund. Since they didn't book my hotel.

Possibly the worst experience I have EVER had. Stay far far away from this company. Scam artists with outsourced customer service and canned responses. I will be making sure no one I know ever books with them. Additionally, this will get reported with the BBB. This is unacceptable to leave people stranded and without help for hours in the middle of the night.

Final update. After waiting 3 hours, they had booked me at the wrong hotel. It was a Hampton instead of a Homewood Suites. This caused me to drive to another hotel that I didn't book, and get a room that was too small. Their "help" was giving me 20% off in snap travel credits. Which is a joke. I got a smaller room! Which they didn't compensate me for. They also didn't compensate me for their 2 hour mistake coating my family sleep on our long trip.

I bought a two nights reservation. Unfortunately, I had a car accident and ended up with a cervical sprain and a commotion. It's so sad that you have to cancel a dream vacation but also to realize that you can't get a credit for your non-refundable reservation even if you are willing to pay a certain fee.
A car accident in my opinion is an emergency and I am willing to provide all the documents to prove it to the company. « There is nothing we can do said the lady on the phone because it's against our policy ». I also send an e-mail and I am waiting for an answer.
What if i had died in the accident? Would the company keep my money?
It's very disturbing.

Booked a stay at a resort via snap travel, on day of arrival resort had no details of our booking. Contacted snap travel and they got us a new booking, upgraded it by 2 room classes plus gave us an account credit. Did take 2 hrs to sort out.

Wrong room booked
July 19, 2022

Booked hotel on their website. Was to be a triple room, which per their description was either 2 beds or a bed plus a sofa sleeper. I was booked in a one queen bed room. Traveling with my son and grandson this was unacceptable. They would not change the room or issue a refund. I realize this was a non refundable reservation but considering I did not get what I paid for I feel a refund was in order since they could not honor my room request.

Bad service
July 19, 2022

Not helpful when you stay at hotel you book for 4 night an you get there at midnight pull back your sheets an see a spider crawling. I didn't trip about that I killed it and crawled in the bed to sleep woke up off and on the whole time feeling like something was biting me and itching. The next more had red bite marks so I checked out by 8am and my friend slept in the other had the some problems. Talked to the hotel when I checked out they said they couldn't refund my money because snaptravel hadn't paid them so I called snaptravel an they are refusing to refund me for 3 nights. So I wouldn't use this company

Buyer BEWARE

Booked a Disney hotel for significantly lower than other sites offered. After a couple weeks, we called the hotel to make sure we had a reservation. They said there was no booking in their records. Contacting Snaptravel, the rep said they would get me a confirmation number with the hotel within 24 hours, but this is not how it is normally done. 3 days later, we received an email from Snaptravel, saying they could not give us a confirmation number due to "security", but we definitely have a reservation. Feel free to read the reviews below to find out how that goes. Too many cases of people showing up to the hotel to have no room and Snaptravel doing nothing to solve the problem for me to feel comfortable. We are now initiating a charge back with our credit card, as they refuse to allow us to confirm with the hotel that our reservation actually exists.

I tried to book flight
July 14, 2022

I tried to book flight. I've got charged for no ticket and two hours later I've got email from them stated they weren't able to book my flight so they starting refund which could take till 10 days. Which kind of business charging money for no service?! Without immediate help of bank, call their customer service and insist my rights I've never got money back same day. Later I found out really bad reviews (not at Trustpilot- a lot of stories in FB groups where's another victims or just Google it) about this scam company. Terrible experience. Only when I mentioned to their customer representative that bank is already involved with this it took literally different solution and money, was back at account in couple of hours.

Got my zero balance bill from the hotel, taxes are already incurred in the final price. Meanwhile, snaptravel charged me an extra $135 in "taxes and fees" on top of that rate. Fraud. Will be disputing through my bank.

Scam! Buyer beware!

This website is a scam.
I booked accomodation for my husband and son who were travelling out of town. When they arrived at the hotel they were told there was no room and the hotel was no even affiliated with Snaptravel.
We have since tried to phone Snaptravel and their number is disconnected. Although they have sent mutiple text to say "thanks for using Snaptravel and we hope you enjoyed your stay". This line is unavailable to call back on. I have also sent multiple emails with no reply. Total scam!
