Overall the costumer service is great. However, I think some parts need to be improved. For example, when booking tickets if there is no student discount for the flight, then it should be mentioned during purchase or takeoff from the website. In addition, for the manual booking, I think the amount of the ticket and other fee should be send to customer. This is a way to let us know what we paid for. Lastly, as for choosing the seat, I think we can choose it by ourselves for pay some extra money.
My credit card (that I rarely use) was compromised within a day of booking on this site. I booked a trip to and then within 24 hr had emailed to get a refund, which was posted on their site and the airlines site as something they allowed. The only way is to email them though and they took a few days to get back to me and then told me that I was outside of that period. When I provided logical proof they went ahead and made up another story. Everytime I came back with proof thay "found" another reason to deny me. HORRIBLE service

The issues I have had with seat selection and with the airlines continuing problems with rerouting/cancellations could be better. We need to talk to a real person and now more than ever. Websites can handle some issue but not all. I do believe I will use StudentUniverse again in the future.

I received my booking confirmation and can now see my reservation on the airline website. On the airline website, it says I have no seats. When I checked on the student universe about the seats It shows pending, and I can't find any information about a timeline or if I will actually get the seats that I paid extra for.
I booked a flight though here and everything was fine until I needed to change it to an earlier date. (Halifax to Calgary) I called to change it, was very clear with what flight I wanted, and they booked me to fly out of Toronto! I called to fix this and the new ticket they sent me had an extra return flight that I didn't ask for. I only got ~$60 refund for this once I cancelled it. Now my ticket has been suddenly changed to an earlier time that complicates my whole plans. The customer service is terrible, they won't listen to you and sound annoyed when you need to change anything. Huge waste of money, just book directly through the airline.

This company is extremely unprofessional and unable to provide basic customer service. I have been dealing with Charlotte in the Brisbane office and my experience has been frustrating. She has not provided me with the things I have requested including a copy of the company complaints process so that I can escalate my matter to be resolved.

Easy to use and the best way to find affordable flights especially if a student
I have spoken to 3 different people and even received an email that stated something completely different than everyone was saying. All of the people I spoke to in regards to cancelling my reservation were not helpful what so ever. The first person wanted to charge me everything for my flight even though I am canceling days in advance due to financial situations and I lost my job. The second person was willing to work with me and try to mitigate the fees because of my situation and then we got disconnected. Then the last lady I spoke to was completely terrible wanted to charge me more than what the previous lady quoted me because I used a discount code? A discount code is coupon that takes money off. I should not be charged that! This is the worst company to book with for airlines and just in general. Everyone tells you something completely different and has no sympathy. Staff lacks general customer service skills. Would not recommend this to anyone.

I could neve get a straight forward flight details, itinerary ALONE that I could send out. Every time your money making preferences shall appear several times.
I thought I was getting a good deal from this site and seriously thought they were helping students save money. I was told by my friend that I got ripped off with the price I paid. What surprised me as well was that I received a charge right after I booked! I have booked from other sites and never ever was charged!
Seriously research before your book with this site! Try googling who is StudentUniverse... no answer but some generic marketing selling comment.

Most of our flights are discounted up to 30% off for verified students, but we can't always guarantee we'll have the cheapest prices, as airlines or other travel agencies may run deals as well. The only charge you should have received after booking was the cost of your flight—if you feel you were charged more than the cost of your flight, please reach out to us directly and we will remedy it for you.
I am trying to call you guys since last afternoon, after every 4 hour of waiting on call, it just get cut. Overall, I got the flights I needed for a price that worked with my scholarship. However, the filters and the search function could be improved. For example, when I was filtering by airline, flights I had just been viewing from the intended airline vanished altogether. All in all, good experience.
I was booking a flight and as soon as I was ready to purchase, their website crashed. I made sure it wasn't my internet connection or my laptop as I refreshed both multiple times, so then I had to have someone in another city help me book my flight. Other than that, booking with them was easy. Hopefully there won't be an issue when it's time for my flight.
I've used Student Universe multiple times to book flights and most of the time it gives me the best deal I can find! The website is super easy to navigate and once I make the booking I can rest assured it will be confirmed. Customer service over the phone is amazing too.
This is the first time I've used SU. I booked a very expensive Christmas time flight from Brisbane to Boston. Had I booked through Qantas it would have spent 1700. 00 USD more since I waited until August. The flight times changed, which is typical (I've flown this route many times at this time of year). I called SU, the agent was able to change my reservation, I was already familiar with other flight times so I made the suggestions as to what to book, and that's what they did. Everything is confirmed, I'd have had the same experience calling Qantas direct.
I loved how this website was able to book me multi-flight travel without me having to bounce back and forth button airlines trying to find the cheapest flight. It found the best prices and gave me a large number of options. It was remarkably cheaper than the airline websites themselves and even cheaper than some of the airline deal finders. Overall I am a big fan of Student Universe and I hope to use it again in the future.
