The flight tickets are really affordable but there is an issue with the baggage allowance for a student is not that great so take care of it and get it sorted.

Easy, User Friendly

Booking was easy and user friendly! I love the option to pick my price with flexible dates to see the cheapest options. SU by far had the clearest process from all discount sites I've used.
Only downside is that you can't change your flight plans past 4 day window

Please make the 10-minute window longer, I had barely enough time to enter all the birthdays and names in the checkout section. I had 5 tickets; imagine buying 10; that'll be a pure test of speed
Update: Student Universe contacted me via email and told me that this has been taken into account by their dev team, that's a great attitude towards problems customers have.

The second leg of my daughter's flight was cancelled before she left her origin, but after she'd checked in online. Upon calling SU, the team took the case immediately, ran with it through rescheduling (3 people involved). She'll be home a few days late, but not stranded in Rome - Kudos.

Booking Name Issue

Representative was very responsive in making change necessary for passport and booking names to be consistent. Even waived the alleged $50 fee to do so...which seemed appropriate since ticket had not fully be charged or booked.
Very appreciative of customer service and responsiveness

Website was easy enough. Had to call about a potential issue with charging a card that said it didn't work but when I called I received immediate and helpful service. Right now we're experiencing, after a week, of the transaction only being partially made on our bank account. They have not charged us the full amount yet. Which is confusing. Anyways, other than that quick and easy I would say.

Student Universe while searching for affordable flight options. Skeptical yet hopeful, she decided to give it a shot. From the moment she landed on their website, the experience was seamless. The interface was user-friendly, allowing her to easily input her departure and arrival dates. To her surprise, the search results displayed an array of budget-friendly options tailored specifically for students like her.

Upon selecting her desired flight, Eshal was pleasantly surprised by the additional perks Student Universe offered. Not only did she snag a fantastic deal on her ticket, but she also received a complimentary checked bag and access to exclusive student discounts on accommodations and activities at her destination.

Trip got cancelled, had to request refund. Was only allowed travel credit under very strict conditions(which would not have existed if we booked direct with airline). Every person we talked to over the phone had no idea what they were talking about and gave us different information. Ended up losing over $1000 because of this misinformation. Would never ever use again, even is we saved money because it was such a hassle. Worst company ever. Would give 0 stars if i could

Cheaper tickets, inconvenient confirmation email

The tickets were slightly cheaper than expedia and kayak, however the confirmation email does not contain any useful information, it just sends you to their site for details, which is slightly inconvenient.

I had never heard of StudentUniverse until Kayak showed that it had the cheapest booking option for a flight, and I had a great experience! It was easy to use, and was somehow so inexpensive compared to any other website.

Passenger assistance
April 16, 2020

After we booked with the company I realised I had forgot to book passenger as site ace for my disabled son. I had trouble trying to do this myself via the actual airline. I emailed SU and within an hour they had it all sorted out for me. I personally felt them great to communicate with.

I have never been treated so badly and so unprofessionally by a company within the Australian regulatory space. It is a shock to me that they are still operating. They have dedicated 'Charge-back Specialists' which speaks VOLUMES about how they operate and the kind of values they hold. If you're employing someone to look into why banks are protecting their customers from you and refusing to authorise your charges, you need to seriously consider your conduct.
I would caution anyone and everyone not to go anywhere near Student Universe. Warn your friends and family too! I wish I read these reviews before proceeding.

Website failures, issue with the booking, and supremely unhelpful customer service. Instead of having my request answered, I was advised to "reserve a set for only $5," etc. Unbelievable. This agency does not seek to be of service, their only goal is profit and they have found the convenient student niche to extract any money possible. Buyer beware!
