Have had trouble getting a refund for a frauhdulent purchase, store envy and Stripe, poor business practices, don't trust or believe what they say, which is only to blame or pass blame to each other.
Nothing looks what's advertised the time they took to ship it was ridiculous the product looks nothing like they advertised beware of this site they are scammers
I sell products online on several website.
This website caters to a age group of around 13 - 35.
I have not purchased any products from this website so I cannot make any comments in regards to the Sellers.
But what I did do is to set up a shop there. Setting up the shipping information on this website is messed up. I had all kind of complication where I would put in a ship price for one product and found the same ship price was listed on all my products not just that specific item. Customer Service is not very helpful. They basically repeat the same thing they have written in their FAQ.
The other problem I had was setting up a second shipping fee if a customer purchased multiple items. (example: $5.30 shipping for first item. $2.00 Shipping for second item.
I decided not to sell on this site. There are website they have issues. But the one thing that has to be right on any site I sell on is the shipping. Putting up a banner on this site may not be easy for someone that is not computer savvy in this aspect.
Item never arrived, no contact info for store, store completely ghosted me online after purchase, like the whole thing never happened. Fkn pissed off.
Daniel Danger took my money immediately and never sent the purchase. Storenvy and Daniel Danger do not respond to customer requests. Stay away, nothing is real.
Cons:
- You cannot disable international shipping.
- All new stores are forced to enroll in the marketplace.
- You cannot activate your shop until you sign up for a third party payment vendor called stripe. Stripe is insecure. There have been rampant reports of shops encountering charge back after charge back from invalid international sales. This is most likely because settings out of the box within Striped disable basic credit processing security checks like zip code matching and a CVC Check. Again, these are disabled by default.
- No dedicated support phone number or email address. You are asked tweet at them on twitter.
- In the event of a charge back, or even a refund, your fees are not credited to your account automatically. You actually have to open a support transaction in order to get your money back.
- Marketplace traffic volume is low.
- The site appears to lag when indexing new items in your storefront. Sometimes for days on end. This negatively impacts your search performance.
- Site does not appear to run google ads for marketplace stores, something other marketplaces do for free.
Overall, the performance of the site, features provided, and level of service do not justify the 10% commision they demand. I would suggest looking elsewhere.
As a seller, when I first started using Storenvy back in 2013, I absolutely loved it. It was easy to use, free, and I could use Paypal for all of my transactions. Speaking as someone who has been selling online since 2007, it was a dream come true and one of the best selling platforms I had ever used.
And then came the changes.
While I don't mind paying a percentage to Storenvy if I sell through the Marketplace (honestly, it's only fair, and I'm just happy no listing fee's are involved), what I do mind is being forced to use Stripe.
Stripe is glitchy, in turn makes Storenvy glitchy, and their fee's are ridiculous. It makes customer support even more difficult when instead of an instant refund like on Paypal, it can take up to two weeks for my customer's to receive a refund if needed. Also, in order to pay shipping fees and the like, I have to wait until the money has been deposited into my bank account which adds even MORE time onto people getting their orders.
Plus there's the fact that as a rather small business I have never opened up a business bank account (why pay for that when I can essentially have on on Paypal for free?), and it can wreak havoc on your personal finances when you have a shared bank account and hardly think it's fair to ask your partner to go over every single little itty bitty charge they intend to make when half of it is their money anyways.
If they let me use Paypal in the marketplace once again, I would willingly pay their 10% (even if it is a bit steep) commission on sales. I'd even be willing to pay a flat monthly amount at this point. But Stripe... what a disaster.
Tried to run a shop on Storenvy and the few sales I had, half of them were pains in the $#*! because of Storenvy's jacked up system. First off, Storenvy didn't even notify me of any transactions, even though I was checking my store frequently. All of a sudden out of nowhere sales were added to my shop that were apparently placed *weeks, or *over a month prior in one case without any notification to me. So all of a sudden in the middle of my busiest season I have this large order which is already a month old and it suddently appeared in my production queue. Tech support had no explanation for it. Big surprise. The buyer understandably didn't want to wait for their items, so I had to refund them. I closed my shop almost a year ago now and yet Storenvy STILL uses my photos of my designs to promote their janky site! I don't sell there anymore and I am willing to bet most of the products featured in their ads are from stores that had enough of their BS and no longer sell there anymore either. 95% of the stuff being sold on storenvy is imported garbage marked up from aliexpress. They do nothing to curate the quality of their site, help their customers (sellers) or improve glitches.
I'm usually not the type of person to do this but, I was recently scammed by the store "Anejo Jewelry". I ordered three men's bracelets from this store over a week ago, and 1) I still haven't received my order 2) The store hasn't sent me a tracking number 3) The store refuses to acknowledge my numerous emails sent in regarding the status of my order 4) Upon further investigation seems to be using pictures stolen from google and passing them off as their products. I recently sent an email to the store envy support team, and I'll post an update on this whole situation in a few days. In my opinion The store envy support team needs enforce stricter policies when it comes to store owners shipping products. Store owners should be required to: send tracking info, be over the age of 18, and ship the product within at least 2 days time. Stay away from Anejo Jewelry, they will take your money and leave you in the dark about the status of your order! Don't buy from http://www.storenvy.com/stores/*******-anejo-jewelry
I ordered a dress from Storenvy.com, I am thinking that the dress is at the Fashion Mall in Oklahoma at the store called the Wedding Store. The store and the mall doesn't even exist. I paid through PayPal and they make believe store is someone in China by the name of Zhu Pei is the person who made the dress. The dress the day of the Mardi Gras ball and it was so poorly made until I could not accompanied my husband's at the Mardi Ball. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM STORENVY.COM. They don't even have an address or telephone number to call so you can ask questions. THIS COMPANY IS BEYOND TRIFLING!
I've been absolutely amazed by the amount of product available on this site. As a store owner, and a customer, I've had absolutely no bad experiences. There are groups on Facebook that are run by Admin and Storenvy personnel that work tirelessly to help if I have a question or concern... and the individual store owners have great communication too.
It's sad to see that some people have had an issue here or there with a shop owner, however, one experience that didn't go well is the fault of that shop owner and not the platform itself. It makes me wonder if there were contact details available for that shop owner.
Koodos to the designers of this platform, for all the improvements they work so hard on every day, and how fast they listen when the shop owners ask questions or suggest improvements. I personally haven't used the widgets or 3rd party designs... the original layout was perfect for me and my customers. Thank you for the opportunity to get my brand out there, and for me to reach so many wonderfully talented people!
Do not waste your time to set up a shop. It lack of audience and tools for sellers to easily set a shop. Website has also been crashing for a year already. Didn't even try to fix it.
I made an order to Scary Apparel, they took my money within minutes, and they never mailed out my order, Its been a month, and Ive never received my package. I've emailed them and DM them and they never responded, Buyer Beware, Scary Apparel on Store Envy are scammers.
Nothing but positive experiences as a buyer and a seller on Storenvy! It's a welcome change from the overcrowded Etsy market and I love having no fees! I get a lot more traffic on Storenvy as well!
I ordered Blue Green Pantyhose in September. I wanted them for Halloween. Second week of November, a package was delivered, but pantyhose was PINK. Too late and very wrong color!
Placed a order on the first of june and its now the end of july and have not been notified about anything about my order... would not use this site EVER
Wouldn't help me when I ordered. Blocked me from contacting them to ask for a return or exchange. Last person I talked to was rude & racist.
http://houseofdemerci.storenvy.com/
They are unprofessional. I order a outfit and emailed them that it was badly made, and smelled. They told me no refunds. But clearly states on there site if any defects etc. a manager can refund money or exchange the item. I got the package from aliexpress vendor( i search the name on the package.) This company over charges you, when you can simply just go on aliexpress and get the item cheaper, Because they pretty much get all there items from China. NEVER WILL I ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN. THEY ARE RUDE IN EMAIL'S AND ARE NOT WILL TO REFUND OR EXHANGE A ITEM. For a horrible made outfit.
Do not order from Miss Loco. You will pay for no goods and then get rude confrontational messages. Will not provide tracking number. Stay away from Miss Loco!
I use store envy to shop, never had a problem with any purchase I have made. It is nice to have a totally hand made place to shop not that etsy sold out.
Answer: No! Please stay far away from this site.
Answer: Honestly, I'm very surprised by these reviews too. We have over 100,000 store owners, so I suppose there are bound to be some people who didn't have a great experience. But we certainly have a lot of successful, loyal merchants.
Answer: Just like Etsy or Amazon, Storenvy isn't a single seller, it's a site featuring shops hosted by a network of different sellers. My advice would be to check out the information on the page of the particular seller you're looking at. Look at their feedback and their shipping timelines, and that should give you a better idea of what to expect. Most of the sellers there are fantastic, but it's always best to do research before buying from a new person :)
Answer: Its not "technically" a scam, its just a website with a bunch of people who put up stores. The problem is many of those people are not good at running a business (and the individual store owners might be scams or might not be) and the company "storeenvy" takes no responsibility for their actions. You will have better luck on EBAY or AMAZON because there is buyer protection and actual customer support. StoreEnvy is not a 'scam', they just suck.
Answer: Each seller is independent within the site. I never got a response from Storenvy customer service, so Paypal refunded my $. So you take your chances. Ebay will refund if the item is not as described or pictured. Also look at where the item ships from, if it's China, it could take 2 weeks and more.
Answer: Your best bet is to pay close attention to the reviews for the seller. Much like Amazon or Etsy or eBay, each seller is responsible for their store and the things they sell in it - which means some things are going to be fabulous and some won't be. So check the reviews and make sure you know that the seller you're trying has a solid reputation with their buyers and consistently delivers a good quality product.
Answer: Nope i wouldn't do it... the whole site is fraud. Myself and a few other people are in pursuit of getting our money back.
Storenvy has a rating of 1.7 stars from 312 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Storenvy most frequently mention customer service, tracking number and credit card. Storenvy ranks 563rd among Marketplace sites.
