THIS IS A SCAM! PLEASE BEWARE THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND DO NOT GO ON THE REVIEWS. THEY HAVE TAKEN TONS OF MONEY FROM ME.
I've unfortunately bought many games through steam and its by far one of the worst decisions i've made in my life.
I love Steam. It always works great and regularly offers discounts. If you like video games and play on PC or Mac - you cannot do without them)
Even though the downloads are big, but the time is worth it! There are very awesome games on this website. Many people use Steam!
Probably the best platform for games. I am using this since CS1.6 and since than they didn't let me down not once.
These guys will steal 10 dollars from you in a heartbeat. I just bought the same game for 10 bucks Dying Light on sale today haven't even installed it. I didn't install or play for 14 hrs! That was me playing on my family share before I bought it again on accident! They tied my other bought copy to this new one as you can see I bought it and asked for a refund an hour after I realized this. They keep pushing that I played this new copy for 14hrs. My other Dying light game is on another account my family shared not this one!
I have another copy I bought on my family-shared account and forgot I had it already. It has 14 hours of gameplay. I contact them for a refund they keep coming back without looking at the receipt that I bought it today at 3 pm there is no way I could have played 14hrs on a new Copy Of The Game. I explained this on the refund. They keep coming back saying I played 14hrs already. Two different game keys now I have to keep the Enhanced Edition on this account when I already have the Standard on another for family play.
The sad part their system is set up to steal from their customers. They do not even check to resolve it for me to see I am not lying they just keep 10 bucks I wanted them to credit it to my account so I can buy the Definitive Version still I asked and explained twice what happened all I got was I played a game that I haven't installed yet from purchase today at 3 pm for 14 hours. I played it on a family-shared account.
CRIMINALS - all companies are doing some nasty shiznit to people now these days. Below is how can I have played for 14 hours and then on top of that its obvious that I haven't installed a new copy of the game because it would have taken 3 hours to install on my wifi. Below is my receipt these dudes are screwed up, greedy pieces of trash. I was going to get the bigger version once they refunded it to my account. As$ Holes.

If they give me my purchase back I will remove this review but if not they stole my money and this review remains so others that have family shared a game and buy the same game on the main account do not have to go through this. Now I have two copies I do not need. They have no phone support to WATCH OUT!
I got charged today by steampowered.com. Never even $#*!ing heard of this company. They stole my 40 dollars! Stay away at all costs!
I give you 4.5/5. You need really much more often make discounts becasue quite much new games for playing there.
Once upon a time I bought a gift card for steam ($100), when I went to foolishly peel the sticker covering the code (by the way NEVER do this, always scratch the thing like a lotto ticket) and I ripped the code!
Alas struck with grief I went to steam support, thinking I had effectively just shoved $100 in a blender, but I had forgot I was being helped by *Ta Daaa* STEAM SUPPORT! As I slept and dreamt horrors of never being able to own Cyberpunk2077 due to my own foolishness, the steam support crew worked tirelessly to isolate my problem and resolve my query.
I awoke to a well written and polite inquiry from them as to whether or not I had the receipt from my purchase remaining, After a cursory search, tragedy struck! I had misplaced my receipt! After several hours upturning every possible location and sifting through garbage cans, I had no choice but to conclude my quarry was lost.
This is the point when most support services would declare yours a helpless case, resigning you to endless transfers and "we're working on it, we'll get back to you" emails. But not steam support! Oh no! They ramped it up a notch, assigning only the best of the best to my conundrum (Anne).
And so just as I was proceeding to analyze the ripped off sticker under a microscope to possibly glean some sort of clue, I got THE message (and just a few hours after I had informed them of the missing receipt to boot), stating that the issue was resolved!
With only the scantest of information the steam support crew had managed to track down my missing $100 and reunite me with my once-lost funds, clearly proving their absolute dominance over all competitors.
5/5 service 10/10 service 100/100 service there is not a number high enough to express my gratitude!
TL: DR In just over a day they not only managed to identify the problem but also rectify it. I am now reunited with my once lost steam funds and am off to become the proud owner of Cyperbunk2077! 5/5 service! Scratch your gift cards like a lotto ticket, never peel them & always keep your receipts.
Alrighty, the Jeff U's review is borderland tin-foil-hat, aliens are coming to get us, the big brother sees everything.
Did you know Windows had admin privileges on your computer? Or even decides who is an admin and what privileges are? Of yeah it also has access to your files on the hard drive, of wait it even decides how and where to allocate them. Did you know windows keep constantly connecting to Microsoft? Don't you know Microsoft is evil?! ZOMG! You have to secure your system, here's a hint: best secured system is the one which is not plugged into the power grid. Yes, please pull the plug out of the outlet, and then maybe cut it up with scissors in multiple places - just to be sure.
As you may've guessed I am a Valve supporter. Valve is the company behind Steam - the most exceptional, revolutionary gaming service to be available to mere mortals like us.
Let's get the downsides out of the way:
1) You have to install Steam software to run games purchased on Steam (duh)
2) You are expected to have regular internet connectivity for updates and to launch into off-line mode (weird)
3) You will be part of a biggest, most dedicated gaming community. (oh wait this is still the bad part)... never mind that
The good parts:
1) Valve is a game producer and a distribution provider, they know games, and they listen to their users.
2) Games bought from Steam do not require CDs/DVDs and you can redownload/reinstall them as much as you want - new computer - no problem.
3) Valve made some of the world's most acclaimed games, Half Life, Half Life 2, Team Fortress, Left For Dead all of which are awesome!
4) Support/Community/Social integration is beyond amazing - it's mind blowing.
5) Their sale's are on very often, and you can get unmatched deals for multi-packs of games which you could not get anywhere else.
There are plenty more advantages to Steam, which you'd have to find out about on your own.
And coming back to the issue of trusting software on your PC. In my view, Valve > Microsoft. So they can have admin rights to my PC!
YOU MUST GIVE THEM MONEY FOR TECH SUPPORT.
YOU MUST GIVE THEM MONEY TO LEAVE A REVIEW OF A GAME.
GAMES PLAY POORLY. STOP OFTEN. LAG.
Try to find your right against their support no luck. Go away.

Answer: There's a higher volume of users that want help from Steam Support, however, they'll often try to answer most of the questions that is coming in a daily basis. Steam doesn't have enough staff members to check on the endless questions coming in so you question is most likely on queue. For the other question are you using the same account from the old PC? Please use the same account onto your new PC. Normally CDKeys will follow the original account it was placed in.
Answer: I haven't saw a video game that requires ongoing payments. Most video games I have purchase are all one time payment. However, there is a steam sale going on right now. Remember the games are only linked to one account so you can't transfer to another account.
