The overall reputation of the company reflects a significant divide in customer experiences. On one hand, some customers appreciate the helpfulness and professionalism of store staff, particularly in urgent situations. However, a prevailing sentiment highlights dissatisfaction with delivery reliability, order fulfillment, and customer service responsiveness. Many reviews express frustration over delayed shipments, unhelpful support, and issues with returns, leading to a perception of inadequate service. This inconsistency suggests a need for improved operational efficiency and customer communication to enhance overall customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Every time I order from Staples, I get someone else's packing slip. Every time that I call Staples and request a packing slip to be sent, they always say they are going to do it and they never do. When I call them back and speak to someone else, I am always told by that next person that there are no notes on my account, and no attempt was made to send me packing slips. This may seem like a petty thing except for the fact that I am managing a business and do not have the time to sit on the phone and beg for packing slips, especially when our business needs packing slips in order to reconcile financial records. Staples used to be my go-to office supplies store, but I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. Not knowing what to do is one thing, but intentionally lying to a customer just to get off the phone quicker is not acceptable and if any of those people worked for me, they wouldn't work for me for long. This is NOT the way that you win over customers!
I have 45 years of experience entertaining for exhibitors at trade shows Coast to Coast by drawing cartoons, not caricatures, on paper imprinted with the exhibitors logo. I have used Staples for years to print my paper. I didn't think my local staples could print A postcard with a business reply card attached, but I asked anyway. They told me they have a corporate printing department that could handle the job. They printed 12,000 cards for me. I provided the art from mailings I had done in the past. The Post Office had changed it's requirements, and I had to trash all 12,000. Even though it was my fault, to my surprise Staples refunded 100% of my money without me asking.
You would think Staples being an office store would have a good online store, just the opposite it's brick and mortar stores are better. But getting competition from stores like Walmart.
Staples blows away the competition with their onsite printing. I've printed everything from banners to brochures to business-card items and they've always done a fantastic job. I've tried to use Office Depot and some of their competitors but none of them have the online design capabilities and same day turn-around.
I've even had stickers and magnets printed through them and always timely and look great. I used them for my wedding and my husband's business. And I they will always win my business for printing. I hope they keep up the great work!
I purchased an office chair through Staples online. They had several on sale (still 200.00) but everything was out of stock so I took my 5th choice, It came and I assembled it and the chair was broken. I called and was told they would send a new part but it would take 7 to 10 days. Then they sent the wrong part. The chair I wanted came back in stock so I decided to exchange it. Unfortunately I had to buy the new chair and wait 10 days to get my money back for the one I was returning. I didn't have 200.00 to put out. If I waited for my money the chairs would have been off sale. I decided to return the chair anyway as it was broken. I was told it would be picked up the next day between 9 and 5 so I stayed home all day waiting. They never showed up and was told they would come the next day between 9 and 5. They expected me to give up two full days to return a broken chair. Even Bell and Rogers can narrow down your time.
Bought a chromebook online. They cancelled the order because they could not verify my address because it is a new building. They sent me to the billing department when i called, who told me i was fraudulent. I called back and asked for a manager who offered to sell me anything i wanted at full retail price, but no apology or discount. I will never step foot into a staples again or ever be a customer at staples.com again. Save yourself the 3 days of hassle and take your business anywhere else. Definitely the worst customer service i have ever encountered!
You are mailed a coupon on your next purchase. Gotcha!
I've gotten to a point where I order stationery online at eBay, and also taking advantage of eBates.
So is am currently attending school for photography online. I had to order 3 specific types of paper for an assignment. The instructor told us to place orders 1 week prior to Assignment due date. When I placed my order for the 3 types of paper it said I would have then by the 4th. Okay great it was on-time for my assignment so I thought. On the 4th I received 2 packages each only contained 1 type of paper. And one was the wrong type of paper. I called customer service and I was told they would resend the paper that I didn't get and the one that was wrong. Okay so I expected my 2 other papers the next day as that is what I was told by customer service. Instead I didn't receive any more packages. When I call customer service I was repeatedly told it was out for delivery. When it was after time it was to be delivered. The. I was told the order had been canceled. I then asked if I was going to be refunded. I was told yes. Then I asked for confirmation to be sent to my email and they agreed. I still have not received and email and it has been 2 days. I have called and told them either send me the papers or give me my refund. I still have not received a confirmation of my refund or a package. I will never purchase online with staples agian! I
But I have only had great experiences with purchasing in store. (they do not carry the items I needed in-store though)
Do NOT use the Staples online design tool if you want your products quickly! I used it to design a flyer I needed right away, only to find that it is NOT POSSIBLE to go to the store and print out something designed on the staples website (without waiting 1 to 3 days). On the plus side, the staff was very polite as they were telling me they couldn't help me.
Often I can't find office supplies for my business. I can't find any other company selling them other than Staples. They have hard to find items and have reasonable prices.
THEY ARE SELLING BULK A LOT Of the products they used to carry they do not carry anymore. THE TONER prices are through the roof they refuse to sell single cartridges anymore - everything at STAPLES is higher than everyone else - I go online or other stores to get what I need now.
Staples is the worst shop I have ever been to. I bought 3 VISA gift cards from their store and tried to claim the rebate. They declined it because they said the 3 VISA gift cards must be bought at one time and appears on one receipt. While this rule is not in the terms & conditions. The originals ad only says "Get a $20 Visa (R) Prepaid Card on a Purchase of $300 or more of Visa Gift Cards (SKUs *******, *******,*******,*******,*******,*******) at Staples Stores ONLY". It doesn't mention the rule at all. So I called the customer support one, they declined my request. I wrote to their support email. Some of their representative tried to fix it for me. But it seems like their customer support doesn't get along with the other team members. Their customer support accepted my request while during the rebate validation they still reject me. I think they may be doing that on purpose. Telling me the problem is solved so the customer support can close the case. But they don't really follow and don't even try to solve it. I felt like I am talking to a looping tape.
Very disappointing. Combined with several other previous terrible shopping experience at Staples, I swear I won't visit Staples any more. I suggest everyone don't go there as well, unless you feel boring and have life to waste. They just care about your money coming to their pocket. They don't care whether you are happy with their product or if you have problem with their rebate. Or maybe they just assume only poor people want their rebate. They can reject the rebate so people value their time won't bother complaining with them back and forth.
They is a friendly return and no restocking charge and
Shipping cost. They are local with will continues to be in
Convenience for you if you could support them rather by
From online stores.
Using them for decades. Never had an issue. On time, accurate orders, decent discounts and excellent customer service.
Had stock in no delays and arrived in good condition. Average prices good quality merchandise. Would shop there again
Everything I need when searching for office supplies - is here, always in stock. Barely there were times these guys didnt have anything I needed. Fast delivery time and reasonable pricing makes it suitable for me - I recommend!
Great product selection
Quality is key
Very clean stores
Helpful cross trained employees
Not necessarily cost effective however.
No major issues to date using Staples. I have quit using Quill (even though they now own Staples) Office Depot, ect as Staples has good prices and great specials.
I don't often need office supplies, but am setting up a new home office. Ordered online and had it about 2-3 days later.
Staples hasn't hired a manager or employee with an IQ over 86 in more than three years. Staples is so overpriced, it's a waste of time to even park in front of the store. They got traction for opening a business center for faxing, copying and business needs, then promptly stopped staffing it at all, or if staffed, staffed with totally incompetent, unskilled people with no customer service skills of any kind. Staples is so anti-customer, I've had to wait 45 minutes to use a copy machine. They have a new scam they are pushing where you are forced to buy a card you fill with money, and they hope you'll forget to use. The unpleasantness of the staff is exceeded by their demented managers whose bluster is so absurd as to be slapstick. I have not found even one half decent Staples store in the 4 state region where I need business services. I predict they'll close 50 stores in the next 6 months. Their competition must realize how lame they are. Worthless. Overpriced.
Answer: Good service at their brick and mortar store, now good service online
