The overall reputation of the company reflects a significant divide in customer experiences. On one hand, some customers appreciate the helpfulness and professionalism of store staff, particularly in urgent situations. However, a prevailing sentiment highlights dissatisfaction with delivery reliability, order fulfillment, and customer service responsiveness. Many reviews express frustration over delayed shipments, unhelpful support, and issues with returns, leading to a perception of inadequate service. This inconsistency suggests a need for improved operational efficiency and customer communication to enhance overall customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Will NEVER order from staples.com again my first order of flling cabinet was the wrong color... canceled and ordered again... they never came to pick up the first one as promised wasted two days waiting for pick up that was supposed to come and never did
They also tacked on a protection plan charger i NEVER asked for or agreed to... had to call the president office of staples and they STILL haven t picked it up.
Was talking to a friend of mine who had a similar experience but worse... she ordered a file cabinet and they delivered A CHAIR! They have to close this business down
NEVER EVER EVER ORDER FROM STAPLES.COM... IT IS A TOTAL DISASTER.
Josh happened to be in the Palm Desert store where we need a paper jam fixed on our Staples bought printer. The PD guy said, no can do. Josh just took it apart and fixed it for us. La Quinta store is lucky to have him! And with a smile and good attitude.
This is a review for Staples, but it also applies to Office Depot, in that they are both exceedingly dull and uninspired big box stores for office products.
I am leading with Staples though, as it is near me and not out on "the strip." Also, I bought my computer from them.
You will find the most run of the mill supplies for your business or home office at Staples... but do not expect anything that is the least bit fine or inspired.
Frankly, I miss the privately owned paper goods store, where one might find Cross pens, Italian papers and those wonderful cardboard office files that tied up with a grosgrain ribbon.
The "sales associates" are usually listless high school students who have no idea what you are talking about or where things are located within the store. At check-out, they will barrage you with a million questions about becoming part of their corporate club and BS like that.
All in all Staples is adequate yet dreary.
Three lackluster stars.
I ordered some shipping boxes and packing tape on Monday October 28.2019 and their carrier, Prestige, which was an unmarked rusty van, delivered them Wednesday October 30... cardboard boxes delivered in the rain, unprotected, and at least 3 or 4 of those boxes in the bundle were already somehow mechanically destroyed... I have no idea what happened but I refused delivery. I called Staples and they agreed to reship on Thursday October 31... but when 6pm arrived and my order didn't, I looked up my order. The shipper lied and said I refused the Oct 31 order! Chat reordered and said they go out ASAP... but the email confirmation said Monday November 4th. I just told Staples chat to cancel the entire order but I'm not sure I got through to the guy so I responded to the confirmation with a cancel order as well... and included an explanation. I'm done with Staples and no $10 courtesy coupon is going to change my mind. Perhaps they shouldn't rely on slugs driving beat-up child molesting type vans to make their deliveries. Never again.
I walked into the Staples store on Elliot Rd. In Tempe, AZ and placed an order for a return address stamp. The clerk who took my order seemed to be in a hurry to leave, but I finally completed the order placement with the help of another associate. I requested and received printed documentation of my order on October 21,2019. On October 28,2019, I called the store and inquired about when I could expect to receive it. The manager of the store told me my order had never been placed and that she could reorder the address stamp for me but that it would take another week for me to receive it. I tried calling the corporate headquarter offices but it was impossible to speak with a human being about my problem. The phones are all robotic. AVOID STAPLES! It isn't worth the hassle or inconvenience.
I've seen people reviewing Staples for their bad shipping, or how much they like their products, but not me. I have a different. Reputation with Staples. It all started when I was going to Staples with my beautiful family of 241. We walk through the doors, and a small goblin-man runs into sight. He pulled out some weird device, and before I knew it, my entire family was dead. Do not go to Staples.
As an office product need this is my all time favorite place to online shop. Great products, price and shipping! Their delivery policies and service are very good. Their store sales folks could be better informed about location of items in their own store. A minor frustration.
I had a return and was told at one store they would not accept it because it was past 14 days but it was not electronics so therefore I should have gotten the 90 day return policy. I went to another store and was able to get my money back I was extremely happy thank you so much store in Woburn ma. Associates mike and Darrell!
I ordered a couple of laptops and they shipped them without double boxing them. When they arrived, boxes damaged/broken and lots of messy labels on them. When you complain about them, they blame their shipping Department, like it is a different company.
I had a very pleasant experience with customer service/public relations and I am more than satisfied. I will definitely order from them online again. Staff is educated on computers and gives great advice.
I ordered a calculator for my son. The item was not delivered on the promised date, or the following promised date. If you are in no hurry then order from them. But don't order if you actually need the item.
RUN AWAY. Staples clearly has no idea how to play in the big leagues. I wanted to buy a TV from them. That's all. Just buy a TV. My order was cancelled TWICE. With ZERO notification the first time. Over a week I waited for the TV. No correspondence. Then when I looked it up it said it was cancelled. I called and they had no explanation. I ordered another TV. They said OK. Took my credit card number. Sent a confirmation. And cancelled again. THIS time they said they manually cancelled it for "internal reasons" and I would need a SUBPOENA to find out why. A what now? Are they crazy? But asked me if I wanted him to "see if they could reverse the decision". I just wanted to spend money to buy a TV! Not on lay away. BUY IT! This is the WORST experience I've ever had. Go to Amazon or Best Buy. STAPLES is a joke. (Just FYI I'm a normal person with a very good income and an AM EX Platinum. Not some college student with crappy credit or a criminal record.)
Someone from my church works at Staples. I like them well enough. They always have the specialty printer paper I want. I buy holiday paper from them.
I absolutely love this company. I have been a loyal customer for years... and I will continue to be! I had a very pleasant experience with customer service/public relations and I am more than satisfied. I will go nowhere else for my office/school supply needs!
Very disappointed with the ordering process. 1- Press here to shop. Ok. Shopped. Filled cart.
2- Didn't see other offers on page two. Ok.
3- Didn't read the fine print. Many exclusions.
4- Coupon didn't apply to my order.
5- Order cancelled by me.
Puchased two desks by Techi Mobili. Attractive, fair price, heavy enough for office use BUT each arrived banged up in boxes about to fall apart and missing assembly parts which prevented assembling the desks. Many types of office furniture use parts available at Lowes, Ace, and others, but not TM -- they use a cross-dowel that is smaller than all the others. So, call Tachi Mobili, expecting them to ask my address and send the parts. No. They send me a form, demand proof of purchase, photos (of the missing parts I guess), details from the product, etc. Wow. Missing parts is a good way to bring my review from 5 to 1. Good customer service can mitigate that BUT, in this case, I would choose minus 5 if that's possible. Ordered from Staples because of reputation. Will just use Amazon in the future.
My bad for not reading all the reviews of this desk chair because numerous people who bought it made mention that the arm rest holes aren't even close to matching up. So wjy continue to sell something with such poor quality control?! Then, although it delivered the next day, the return had still not been picked up for 9 days despite calls and promises so I had to lug it to the store myself (elderly). They wanted me to keep it outside my house for pickup so every day I had to worry about it being stolen and rained on since I have no overhang. Thanks for nothing Staples.
Well as you can tell by the title we were only refunded HALF of our purchase price because they said what we bought went on sale for half of what we paid even though we showed our reciept for proff of purchse at $139.00 times 2 we bought file cabinets they refunded only $150.00 WOW EVEN CALL CORPORATE NUMBER TO GET HUNG UP ON... F**K ST****S
Looked to match bins previously purchased from Staples - as they need to stack so the base needs to align with the top of another bin.
Did research online and found a few stores which were 30+ minutes away so I ventured out. When arriving, the bin matched the style number online but the product in the store did not match the online pic. Both had the same model numbers though. (Oh, and different online price which was more expensive... but of course, the staff said to ignore it.)
Sales rep called another store and cited the other store had 20+. I asked for them to confirm it matched the pic. Sales rep said they cannot do that. Spoke to manager who then asked rep to call other store and get a visual to see if items in store matched online pic. After doing so, they confirmed the item in the 2nd store did NOT match online pic. The manager remembered the bin had an upgrade 6 months ago - though it no longer allows stacking with the previous model. Online pic was not updated.
No worries... emailed customer service asking to find the legacy model. Their response was:
"I am sorry for the inconvenience. You can place an order online for the item. (Add info about how to order the item - though I provided them the link to it.) We can accept the product for return if it is not what you need."
My response was, "I want to know where to find the legacy item and NOT get the run around of ordering online and then return. I already got the run around from 2 store locations... wasting my time already based on the pic online. Why would you offer another solution to inconvenience me again?"
So it wasn't enough for a customer to do my due diligence of finding the product online, confirming it's in the store, driving to the store, having the one store follow up with another store, and then emailing them - asking for help?
They want me to order it online and if it doesn't match, return it?
Why would I be further inconvenienced. It will be easier to buy a whole new set of stackable bins from someone else.
Quick responses from Staples... provides a TON of inconvenience for the customer... and MORE cost if you're purchasing online. How does this company stay in business?
I think a picture is worth a 1,000 words. I ordered this plastic organizer cart from Staples... price is $51.99 so not exactly dirt cheap. I found it sitting in the middle of the sidewalk in front of my house at around 4:00 this afternoon and this is how it looked... no wrapping whatsoever, and banged up from having slammed into everything in whatever truck it came in. It was also filthy dirty. By the way, no one rang the doorbell when they delivered it... maybe they were afraid I was going to refuse it. Shame on you Staples!
Answer: Good service at their brick and mortar store, now good service online
