Southtree

I had 2 cassette tapes, one that was over 25 years old and another that was closer to 50 years old. I sent them in and Southtree was able get the audio from them and give the audio from them back to me in digital files. I was very happy with the service.

I sent Southtree four separate orders from March 2015 through April 2015. Just got a chance to start going through all of the DVD's I got back... Not good at all. Only one of the orders did not have a problem. I'm not talking about little problems; I'm taking about sending 20 tapes in and only getting 18 back, some not playing at all, getting someone else's videos... No doubt they will do what they can to fix it but I don't know how they are going to fix some of the problems.

I submitted 40 camcorder video cassettes to Southtree and have watched about 7; the quality of the picture and sound are the same as
They are in the camera playback, no deterioration since 1991, in 32 years. I possibly have 5 0r 6 more cassettes which I will send to them
When I return to where they are located. Their price is the best I could find and in this era of disaster capitalism, they stand far above the many low quality operators.

I was very impressed with the job done with my old 8MM. I found the website to be very easy to understand and when I did not a simple call to South tree was all it took. Customer services over the phone was great. I like the emails that are sent explaining where your order is in the process. The last email you receive is the best one, "your memories are on the way". The price was the best par, t I was not paying 700.00 or more like other places I had look into. With a Groupon the price was even better. I sent my order in 5 months ago an paid in advance. I was notified that the order was received an they would be starting on it soon. Two weeks later I was asked to send an additional amount to complete my order, though skeptical I send in additional funds. That was 5 months ago. No updates. Phone calls or emails. I do continue to get advertising emails from them saying they can provide the services I paid for over 6 months ago. I advice going with another company. I think I got scammed. Stay away…. I have

I sent in some old VHS tapes and 3inch film reels that belonged to my late parents. I couldn't be happier with their service! I got everything back in under month and everything was transferred perfectly. I have no idea why there are so many negative reviews. I feel like 1 or 2 angry customers have multiple accounts that they post reviews on. A customer service agent told me that they ship out over 100 orders a day, so it seems that the vast majority of people are generally happy with this company. With my experience in restaurants I know that people who dislike a company are far more likely to leave reviews.

Anyway, I would recommend South Tree to everyone!

Had two different orders. One for 6 VHS tapes that are about 30 years old. The next was for a small reel tape that was made from an AM radio station in 1968.
My experience with the two transactions was great. Southtree kept me informed of where in the process my tapes were. I liked that. My first order was for the VHS tapes. Considering the age of the tapes and the number of times they had been re-recorded I was very pleased with the way they came out. Some things were missing but I expected that because of the way the tapes had been carelessly stored. (Or was it just that I forgot what was on the tape?) The reel tape came out pretty good also. I have to admit that I was surprised.
I would recommend Southtree. They were great to work with and responded quickly when I had questions in the middle of the process. They made me feel like my order was important.

I cannot praise this company enough! I had several videos of my parents to distribute to my siblings. I tried to make copies at home, but the experience was way too painful. I wanted a company who would treat my family keepsakes like they were their own and that's what I found with Southtree. Yes, I was worried sending my videos and a audio recording and some slides that we couldn't view. I didn't want to send these precious items to different companies and then have to struggle to remember where and whom. Southtree did it all, VHS, audio, slides and more. All converted to digital on disc and a jump drive. Easy peasy.
