The reviews are either 5 stars or 1 star. Are the 5 star ratings legitimate reviews from real customers?

I was a real customer and dealt with hundreds of companies over the years. I was EXTREMELY dissatisfied with this company to the point where I had to go through my credit card co to dispute the charge (and won, by the way). I gave them 50 tapes to convert from VHS to DVD. Each was specifically labeled and what was on each was very important to the project. I gave them more than ample time (over 2 months) to complete. After 8 weeks when I still didn't hear from them, I started contacting them and it took over a week to get a response. Within 2 weeks, they sent out the finished product just in time. Only to find out that 90% of those 50 tapes were mislabeled. I had to watch every single one and re label for the project I was working on and I had one day in which to do this. When I tried contacting them, all I was told was to send them back and they will re-label them all. After I was finished with the project I contacted them a few days later to get the mailing label to send back so at least I could have them correctly labeled on each DVD and never heard back. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

My review is real. I had Southtree convert a 25 year old cassette tape of my grandfather playing the fiddle to CD. I had no problems with them at all--service was great and I thought the price was reasonable too. If I need something converted in the future I'd have no reservations about using Southtree again. I hope this helps.

I do not know the people that work for Southtree. I have had about 50 videos made into DVDS from them and was very please with the finished product and the time that the entire process took. With groupon coupons the price was fabulous.

I'm just a chick from Texas who needed some videos made to DVDs for my high school reunion - they did a great job, and were pleasant and helpful to work with. I don't know anyone who works there, have never lived in Tennessee. Real as it gets!

I am real. I was very happy with the tape conversion AND the music conversion they did for me. I really didn't expect much because of the age of the tapes. They don't look like they were originally taken yesterday but then they are just copying what's on the tape. As they say - garbage in, garbage out. As far as losing tapes. That's really the pitts. I would have felt terrible if they had lost my tapes but they kept me apprised every step of the way as to what was happening and how far into the process they were. Everything was returned sooner than they originally told me. I was pleased.

I am a real customer, and have a complaint with the BBB about Southtree. They promptly lost my tape upon it's arrival at their facility. I have the tracking number that shows it arrived. They have evaded helping me, have blamed the UPS guy, the post office and me. I lost a very sentimental tape from my mom to me before she passed away. They are horrible, don't send anything you can't afford to lose!

I regret ever sending Southtree my negatives and micro cassette. They lost these irreplaceable items immediately upon receipt at their facility. They did absolutely nothing to try and find my items. Customer service is extremely well skilled at evading responsibility(I. E. Blaming Fedex, blaming me, not returning phone calls, etc). They stated that they could not have possibly lost my media due to the fact everything is Safe labeled(2/3 of my order was lost because they failed to apply the Safe labels; the one item not lost was sent back in another customer's Legacybox).
Do not make the same mistake I did and send them your irreplaceable memories!

I also am a real person. While I was concerned about the difference in scoring, I sent 20 tapes, each labelled with my personal mailing labels with my name and address. Each vsh tape was also labelled with subject matter and year filmed. I had absolutely no problem, received my tapes with new DVDs all labeled and the quality was as good as the VHS tapes. I was very pleased. I do have about 25 more VHS tapes to convert, just need to take advantage of a great offer from south tree.

I'm very real and was really quite disappointed that they pulled such shenanigans with my order. I didn't know how to get my old tapes on dvd until I walked into sam's club and saw a sale,,,,, Loved everything they did!

I am a real customer and they totally messed up my order and did not fix it. Will not use them again. I had 6 tapes to put on DVDs so it was not rocket science.

Also a real customer. Abysmal service. I had several 8mm films my parents made when they were stationed in Hawaii during WW II. It took them over 4 months to make the conversions. The quality was awful.
