This company promised to handle my media with care and professionalism. I sent them more than 500 slides and after a surprisingly short time, my slides were returned to me with an enclosed cd supposedly containing my converted media. I placed the cd in my laptop and discovered that they had sent me the converted pictures of someone else's media. This means that they are processing the media of more than one client in a common area. I contacted them via "chat" (the only offered option other than email) and they refused to talk to me on the phone, claiming their phone lines were down. They offered me no restitution other than "send your slides back and we will process them again in two weeks. It has been well over two weeks now and still no slides... I am very dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism demonstrated by this company. I trusted them with decades of memories and they have acted irresponsibly. I have yet to receive my converted media and original slides.
I had many videos to convert to DVD. There was only 1 video that for some reason didn't transfer in its entirety. I called and they had me ship the VCR back to them (free of charge, I might add---nice!) for a senior tech to re-transfer. The DVD came back in no time and it was perfect. I would, and have, highly recommended their service. Thanks!
Terrible! They don't communicate. My order has been placed and tapes sent fir more than two and a half months and still nothing. My status has been "in queue" and has never even been processed for the duration! Outrageous.

Site said turn around was about 4 weeks. They received my tapes in February and I did not receive them back until July. The returned product was just my tapes put on a flash drive. They did nothing to improve the quality of my old tapes. Very dissatisfied based upon the claims made about enhancing quality.
Boxes of photos and tapes from my Mom's house. Wasn't sure how they would turn out as many were very old. I was so happy with the quality of the digitized product. So fun to have a family memory night.

I had some 50-year-old reel-to-reel tapes that hadn't been played for 20 years or more. Southtree did a fabulous job of transferring them to CDs and a thumb-drive. I was surprised at how clear they all turned out! And the price was terrific. I wish I'd done this earlier!

Count your photos before placing order. Put them in baggies of 25 each. Then you know exactly how many and pay for the right amount. Wait for next sale and place order. Rest is easy. Once sent in, wait months to get them back, with many emails about status updates. But still way better than trying to make time to scan it all yourself :)
I had Super 8 film starting in 1975 when my oldest son was 9 months old. Over the following years I filmed lots of family, a good number that are no longer with us. Filmed as family grew along with vacations and just normal times. Then these went into storage for 40 plus years and no way to see them. Finding Southtree, they offered great pricing to digitize these tapes. Ordering was easy, I received a box to pack the tapes up, the shipping both ways covered by price. I got emails to let me know what was going on, which I appreciated. I got my order back and I have to admit watching the videos, it was such an emotional moment to see all that was on them. I really would recommend these folks to process your old tapes, film, and pictures. Great price compared to most places I found.

I sent 75 negatives of different formats to be scanned (APS, 110 and a format I didn't recognize). I purchased an initial 'box' for 100 photos and the digital download option.
Upon processing my order, I was billed for an additional 100 photos and billed another $9.99 for the digital download option. This was almost a month after mailing my negatives off.
3 weeks later, I got the box returned. They were "unable to digitize your formats." So I spent approximately $65 and got absolutely no scans back. They did not offer a refund and suggested I contact customer service if I would like a credit to digitize something else (but shipping would be extra).
The service offered was easy to use along with shipping box and instructions Southtree supplied. Results were great with my only small issue was lack of updates from company. On web site and through email commination they stated updates on processing my media, but actual updates were very limited. I trusted they were doing the work so didn't follow up when I didn't receive routine updates. Overall took a tiresome task requiring special equipment and allowed me to enjoy the results.
A learning lesson for me: I sent tapes without previewing them first and had some damaged ones. Southtree marked each damaged one and digitized them for me. I suggest previewing all your media before sending to them to save cost.

Have sent in several batches and have been pleased with every one that has been converted. On one batch it turned out 3 tapes were blank. They gave credit to send in 3 more at no charge. Some were 45 to 50 yr old 8 mil tapes and they came out really good. I am very pleased with their work. Just sent another batch today.
South Tree indicated that negatives should be placed in ziplock bags with bar codes. Ok. I sent in my negatives. Got email when it arrived and every 2 weeks that all was safe in warehouse. Then was told I owed more money for additional negatives I sent which was correct so I paid it. Then emailed that there was an issue but my order had shipped! Excitement after waiting 6-8 weeks. Opened box NOTHING had been done!?! I called and customer service said it was because I had sent the negatives in protective sleeves. Could this not have been determined 8 weeks ago! What if this had been needed for a Family event. No offer to expedite a new order. Really disappointing, much better experience with Dave's DPS and Legacy Box.
I can not believe the negative reviews! Southtree did such an excellent job with my VHS tapes. The packaging was also great when I received them. My videos turned out better than I thought they would be. I was really pleased.
I sent in 10 tapes for transfer on March 8th. It is now June 26th and they say it will be another 6-7 weeks. 5-6 months! This is insane. I sent them in early so we could watch them at our annual family reunion this week with people coming in from all over the country. Now we will be deprived of that experience. I feel like I have been deceived. They need more people dubbing tapes and less people sending out innocuous memos. If you need your transfers done in the foreseeable future go to another company.
I heard about Southtree through Groupon and jumped all over the opportunity because I had been wanting to convert our 3mm tapes for years. We could not watch any of our videos because our video recorder broke and I don't even think they make that type anymore. Using Southtree was so easy! Their website walks you clearly through all your options and makes it so easy to just package everything up and send it off. And I forgot that I get all my originals back too, which is great "just in case". I received my DVDs back sooner than I thought and just before Christmas. They look great and the cost was definitely reasonable. Years after taking these videos, this past Christmas was filled with so much laughter as we sat around watching videos of the kids when they were young! We were in tears! So pleased!
I was extremely pleased with my order. They are very good at emailing updates on every step of the procedure. Which I appreciated. We have been watching our DVDs with joy! Weddings, baptism, Christmas, our son's sporting events of hockey, going away party. These are our memories that were lost to us. I'm very happy with Southtree's work. There is one thing I would have done differently. I wish we could have reviewed to VHS tapes to know exactly what was there. But we couldn't. Southtree did excellent work with what hey were given.
Sent out in early January, got occasional nonsensical emails on it's progress, which... wasn't happening. I finally got my stuff back at the end of May. Took way too long, and it was clear that anyone inquiring were getting form letters back. I would not recommend this company, simply for the fact that they were misleading and unsatisfactorily late. All that and one of my films didn't record sound properly. I am happy I got my materials back, though.
I had 24 VHS tapes put on DVDs--the service was excellent, prompt, very reasonably priced and I received emails every step of the from the time my tapes were shipped, received, checked over, processed and sent back to me. The quality of the DVDs is superb. I'm so pleased I did this. Instead of having VHS tapes collecting dust in the basement now my wife and I are enjoying watching our children growing! I would highly recommend this service.

The quality was absolutely amazing. I am so very happy with my decision to go with Southtree. They kept me advised almost weekly on the progression of my order. If I find any more that I want changed over, they will be the ones to do it.

Across the board, whether it is 5 minutes or 5 hours the size of your order will be determined by how many items you would like to send us to be processed!
