I can't believe this company is still in business. They LOST my video and my memories and were impossible to deal with. Not returning calls or lying when I called back. They also sent me someone else's video, which I did send back. They had no clue who it belonged to but I tried to stop someone else from having lost memories as I did. They are now on groupon. You be the judge but I say NO at any cost!
Each step of the way, they made you aware of their process. THAT is customer service, my friends. The product is awesome and my husband was ecstatic with his gift. I had Southtree put all of his baseball videos from college on disks so he could share them with our daughters, remember the memories that his father (now deceased) and he shared together and simply relive those memories and experiences.
I sent in over 20 old mixed tapes. All of them had been stored incorrectly (hot, humid, long time). Southtree was able to get good video from most of them. I would use them again. Cost was less than a lot of other services.
I have had multiple home movies from the 70's done from vhs to dvd and thumb drives. I've been very happy with all the results. They have a good system for keeping your tapes safe and returning back to you.
A rep called Melissa was absolutely charming and extremely helpful in my initial call. She did everything she could to ensure that I received the best possible service and that my order was processed in the most efficient way. In follow up calls with questions she was always informed and very helpful! My order was processed and returned quickly and the end result was better than I could have hoped for. I would recommend Southtree to anyone wanting their precious memories to be captured and saved forever. They should also provide a box of Kleenex with completed orders - not a dry eye in the house!
What a awesome company! I was really worried about sending my treasured VHS tapes filled with memories of my now grow children, in their baby years. I researched Southtree, and called a representative put my mind at ease that they would update me along they way. I was beyond impressed. They emailed me when they received my tapes, sent a message when the transfer process was starting and sent another email when my new CDs were in the mail! The price was very reasonable and they run good specials constantly. I am sending in my third batch with a great discount from Southtree for being a valuable customer. Keep up the good work!
I had a great experience using Southtree to convert 30 VHS tapes. The notifications kept me informed of the progress, but also from the very beginning, it was great to know my tapes had arrived and were being carefully handled throughout the process. I had one DVD (out of 75 received) that did not play. I contacted them and received instructions for returning it and a prompt replacement. I am very pleased to have my family's special moments updated and ready for viewing.
I converted an old cassette of my daughter singing--a cassette(!) so you know how old that was! The CD arrived in far less time than the company said, and the sound quality is first rate. I am so glad to have this memory, and I think it was a real bargain as well.
A few years ago (2015) I took all my old movies and tapes and sent them to Southtree to put on disc. When I received back I can't remember if I checked even one-but I am pretty sure I did. Anyhow I packed them -in two different places. One was with all my other transfers which I had done myself and they still work fine. I pulled them out recently and now I can't get even get one to play on my DVD player or on my computer. They all say this file is corrupted or unsupported.
Terrible experience, took months to receive back my tapes with excuse after excuse. After I received them back not One tape they had attempted to copy played correctly. They were in black and white instead of color and the screen was broken up. As far as the assertion that every complaint was satisfactorily resolved this is not true as I still am left with unplayable tapes.
It took months for my order to be delivered electronically. I never received my flash drive. The media that was converted was not separated out in some cases, and some was of poor quality. Overall not a good experience.
Quality Job, these films are 60 - 70 years old and now I can sit with the Family and show memories in the comfort of my home, no projector, screen. And now a have something to pass down to grandchildren.
I used Southtree for a few of my videos. The customer service was great; however, VERY disappointed when I viewed the DVDs. We sometimes had to adjust the tracking on the VCR when we viewed the VHS tapes from 1982. When the videos were copied... the tracking was not adjusted; most of the videos have lines going through them and we are not able to clearly view. Wasted $200... just glad I didn't send all 20 yrs of videos. Sorry, I don't know how to add the DVD below.
Everything was perfect. The sent an e-mail at every step of the way and the 34 reels of super 8 movie film from the early 60's are now preserved forever.
This is the place to get it done right, on time and at a reasonable price.
Sebt them about 20 videos they all look like they were converted with a cheap 30 dollar conversion kit. No cropping, clipping, restoration of any kind. Just low quality work.
Was very pleased with the product and customer service. I had a coupon that had long since expired and they issued me a new one. I had 14 VHS tapes of my kids from 20+ years ago. Love the quality and product arrived much sooner than expected. Thanks Southtree.
They are way overdue on my order, however, they spam me almost every day with discount offers. They were in touch regularly letting me know the status until the order was late. Nothing since then. If you can't get your current order back why would you order something else.
After consolidating our household over the last year, we decided to have reels of film and many slides digitized. Our thought was to save these cherished memories sooner than later. Also, by digitizing, you can finally throw the old film reels and slides into the trash. Who has the room these days? We were very pleased with the results to date. The longer you wait, the older the film, slides, tapes, and photos get. Do it now!

Old video tapes were digitized to a thumb drive. Great to view the old tapes to remember family members in years past. It took a few weeks but they keep you informed during their process. No problems at all with the service.
I had some pictures that were very old, close to 100 years. It was hard to ship them off, but all photos came back just as they were when they left me. They are now preserved for all future generations. Very happy!

Across the board, whether it is 5 minutes or 5 hours the size of your order will be determined by how many items you would like to send us to be processed!
