I'm glad I finally had southtree transfer my old tapes. They were probably diminished in quality from sitting around for years but Southtree transferred all of them to a flash drive which I immediately transferred to my cloud storage. They did an excellent job on tapes and slide transfers. Don't wait any longer and trust that Southtree will handle all your materials with kid gloves. They sent me back everything in a sturdy box just as I sent it to them. They include all shipping and boxing costs in their price so no additional charges.
I had some old VHS tapes that were not in the best condition and Southtree did a great job getting the best quality possible from them. It is truly a lost treasure found for our family. They were able to do that with very competitive pricing.
1. Took several months to receive the DVDs to 3 VHS takes. Had to call and email multiple to be eventually "moved up the que."
2. When our order finally came - the original VHS tapes were not returned and the instead of receiving the 3 copies we ordered - only one was sent.
3. after several attempts to contact them - I eventually got someone to tell me they would review the order if I sent the DVDs back at my own expense - no thanks - not waiting another 6 months for the only copy I have of these left to be reviewed.
Total joke. Groupon buyers beware.
Southtree your fancy new website doesn't make up for your terrible follow thru on orders and customer service.
I took advantage of a deal I found for Southtree on Facebook. I sent in 10 tapes and was kept informed on each step of the process. The turnaround time was excellent. It was really great being able to see these old video but a couple had some damage that was disappointing. 4 stars is because one of my videos was labeled as a school show but only had about 45 seconds of something totally different. I wish I could have replaced that one or gotten a credit back. Seriously, it was obviously a mistake, but all mine I guess.
Southtree did a fantastic job in turning a 48-year-old audio tape into a digital version. I appreciate how they kept me informed of the status of my project as it progressed to completion. I would recommend their service without reservation.

Each time I send off VHS tapes to Southtree, I am surprised at what I get back. Most of my family tapes are more than 20 years old and still they are able to save precious memories and return them to me. Southtree initially sent updates during the first month, then nothing. It's been 3 1/2 months and no communication, no answer to my calls and no DVDs.
Southtree has a slick website but don't be fooled. The service is terrible.
I have not posted any comments before. Based on my experience, the other negative comments are deserved.
I recently sent five reel to reel tapes to have downloaded. These were interviews with Eleanor Roosevelt, Sen. John Kennedy, Hubert Humphrey and two others by my dad, H. P. Sconce, in 1959 for his radio program, Christian Celebrity Tyme. These tapes and over 300 more have been stored under my bed for years. I received a tiny thumb drive and the interviews were perfect. Thank you.
South tree always kept in touch and let me know how my order was coming along…. They asked if it could be delayed because of the Christmas rush and it said yes. Getting my movies back was certainly worth the wait!
Yes, I would recommend Southtree because of their customer service! My movies are so fun to watch after 40 years.
I would definately recommend Southtree to anyone! My video camera stopped working and had 16 tapes that I decided to have transferred to DVD. Southtree said it would take 6-8 weeks and they kept their word. They emailed me with updates as the tapes were being processed. They came in great shape. I was so thrilled. I also got my originals back. If you want good quality and a company that will take care of your memories then Southtree is the company to pick!
Outstanding job on my orders. They converted several mini VHS cassettes to DVDs and some 40 year old audio cassette tapes to audio CDs. I am very satisfied with the quality of their work as well as their responsiveness. Like others, it took 3 additional weeks then it should have. I only got a rush on my order cause I complained repeatedly and angrily:)
We received two discs that were not of our order. I have no idea who it actually belonged to.
The VHS to DVD didn't work. It seems like they had the machine on the wrong channel or something. They start out fine and then the screen goes blue.
Photos were not touched at all and some were cut off.
I sent in aging cassettes, to be recorded on CD's an thumb drives. The songs were recorded out of order and some were not recorded at all. The quality was horrible and when I tried to play one in my car, I found that it was a used disc! I called many times and never received a response during the over 3 months it took. Save your money and get this done with another company.
Had old movies that were just sitting in a corner collecting dust. Southtree took these memories put them on a flash drive for us to show our grandchildren. As for my wife and I going back many years brings happiness and a little tear.
Modern technology to bring back old memories is a blessing.

I also had a great experience and have no complaints. Had received an Amazon local email and that sparked me to finally get my memory tapes, that were in many forms converted. Their website and ordering processes simple and easy. I was a bit weary to send all my tapes in at once so decided to mail a set of 10. It does take several weeks to get back, but not longer than estimated for me. Their communication is great, with email status updates all along the way. I was so excited to receive the returned DVD/digital copies, they were all labeled and the copies look great. The entire experience from start to finish was great. I would definitely recommend Southtree. I have already shipped them 20 more tapes for copy.
I've used Southtree a number of times - video, tapes, cassettes, etc. Can't say enough how fantastic this company is for customer contact and communication, assistance, instruction clarity and excellent product. They are incredibly positive and careful. Preserving the old movies, videos, tapes - everyone I recommend it to agrees is so important - and this is how to do it!
Southtree converted a 25 year old cassette tape of my grandfather playing the fiddle with his folk band. I haven't heard that tape in as many years. Now I have it on CD and my computer, thanks to Southtree. Service was excellent and so is the quality, and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely use them again in the future if the need arises.
