I signed up so I could create a sideshow for my grandma's memorial service. The free option is useless and riddled with ads so I signed up for ONE month of premium so I could access the features I needed. Unsubscribing is nearly impossible and even after contacting customer service, I was charged $47.88. The software isn't user friendly and deleted my progress multiple times. Altogether, trash.
I signed up needing to make a memorial slideshow for my Nans funeral, I went with the pro monthly of $19USD as I would only need to use it one time. After I finished my slideshow, that has very little features mind you, I cancelled my membership and was put back on basic/free membership immediately, even though I just paid for a months membership that day. EVERY subscription i have ever had and cancelled lets you use out the month you paid for. Sad thing is is that I need to modify my slideshow and have to re subscribe to get back on the pro features. Disgusting way to treat its customers. AVOID SMILEBOX at all costs, so many to chose from...
I have never signed up for or used this program. PayPal notified me of a $47.88 charge from Smilebox. They can no longer be contacted by phone and and have not responded to the email complaint I sent 4 days ago. Something fishy is going on with this company. I see from the reviews that someone else has had this problem.
In using Smilebox since March 2011, a paid premium subscriber, I loved the program. I had no issues over 8 years until July 2019, they changed the software, my password didn't work. I had 2 accounts, old program AND new program (for businesses)! I got that problem solved, I thought, but unable to send, kept ending at update membership page. Finally able to email but couldn't access contacts. Frustrating! After months I finally gave up! Cancelled my membership, told I'll have access until March. I can't use it so what good is that! Will see come March!
I use Smilebox for all my birthday cards, Christmas cards, travel "albums" and special occasions. Smileboxes also can easily be placed and played on Facebook!
They charged me for a whole year subscription I made a mistake by pressing the wrong button. I used the website for one month and one week only. I could use the features because they would not open. The guests that send the invites to could also not open the invites or rsvp. The was no broader selection And editing was difficult without having to send the whole invitation over again to guest who again could not open the invite. I thought I was being fair by asking the company to charge me on a monthly basis and charge me two months of a membership but they refused saying that a sign for an annual contract. Now! Think about it if you are customer and you are not satisfied with your product, it failed to do what you needed it to do and being fair ask for a partial refund. Why?
Would the company give the partial refund. You want a satisfied customer that can possibly would like to come back for services in the future. This company is a more hungry company! Where are they locate? I don't think it originates in the United States and it's a scam. Do not subscribe! Unless u want to loose your money. I'm a consumer I will never again.
I have been using Smilebox since 2011 and was a paid subscriber. This year 2019, I found they have changed the software which no longer works on my MAC computer and I need a new password to access the site. What is very agonizing - they have my contact list and if I want to use it, I have to pay their premium rates, which is blackmail!
On November 14,2019 I looked at my credit card statement and saw that I had been charged an annual Smilebox membership fee of $47.88. I was surprised because I knew I no longer had a paid subscription. I signed into my Smilebox account and sure enough, my status said "Basic Membership" which is free. Had I known Smilebox would be dishonest, I would have taken a screen shot to support my claim, but unfortunately I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking surely I would have no trouble getting refunded since they could see on their end that I had a basic membership. I looked back at my old statements and saw that not only had I been charged $47.88 in November 2019, but also had been charged in November of 2018 and 2017 as well. This likely went back farther than the statements I could access online but I only requested the $143.88 refunded that I could see. I contacted them with my request and they responded that I had a Premium membership (untrue- my profile indicated basic) but they would "cancel" and refund. I replied back for clarification that they were in fact refunding the full $143.88 not just one year. They responded that no, it would only be $47.88 because of their "no refund policy" and the "terms of membership" I had "agreed to". I replied that I had not agreed to that- as evidenced my by BASIC membership. Their final response was to send me a copy of the Terms of Membership and close my case. I will be taking up the matter with my credit card company as well but I'm not optimistic about being able to dispute charges that are 1 and 2 years old. Additionally, I wanted to be sure to alert as many people as possible to their dishonest business practices and their unwillingness to correct their mistake and refund my own incorrectly billed money.
I started using Smilebox (Hallmark) as a "free" program, but became a subscriber over 8 years ago. With a subscription there were more theme designs and no ads. I have put my photos into slideshows, invitations, save-the-dates, and photo collages in a theme of my choosing and wording with or without music. It is easy for my contacts to receive the creation by email without having to sign up or be a member of SmileBox. An added feature is SmileBox Central which allows contacts to RSVP to a created digital invitation. As noted by other reviewers, your credit card is used for auto-renewal and yes, it is not one step or call to cancel the subscription. Another issue is that creations are saved in a file on your computer, so if you access your SmileBox account on another device, your creation designs are saved and accessed only on that device. Overall I am satisfied with SmileBox for the variety of design and ease of modifying some of the details.
I went on Smilebox to make a slideshow for my mom's 80th birthday party. I got the slideshow completed and then realized I could not send it out without becoming a member. So I decided to sign up for the monthly membership which clearly stated I would be charged $5.00 a month thinking I could cancel it after I sent the slideshow. They charged my account $59.99 and they have NO customer service number to get in contact with a live person! Worst company ever! I have received an email that they will refund me, but we will see...
I love being able to chose formats, colors, embellishments, music, and more. I have made an invitation, cards, books and slideshows. I have printed and sent creations digitally... so many wonderful choices!
My subscription was scheduled to renew on august 30 so I cancelled my subscription on august 27 and on august 30 smilebox renewed my subscription and charged me for another year anyway. As for the app I've only used it once and I didnt think it was very user friendly but that was a couple years ago so it may have changed
WARNING! Once you give your credit card number to this company they will continue to charge you even after you cancel before any trial periods are over. This is what happen to me and when you call customer service the voicemail immediately says no refunds. When you are dealing with a company like that you know its a fraud. Try calling their customer service line and see for yourself *******737
I have used Smilebox for over 10 years to capture a timeline of memories for my family and friends. I look forward to any enhancements that are yet to come!

I have tons of pictures that I store digitally. I love using this program to make them into scrapbook pictures. It is easy to use and has so many different choices to choose from to make my pictures memory perfect!

I have used SmileBox in the past and was pleased with the service and decided to join again to create a couple of family vacations. To my surprise I wasn't able to drop and drag photos and shift them. After creating a album, and trying to review it my edits did not match up to what I posted for each photo. It got scrambled. Now for the worst part the worst customer service. You email them your issue and all they do is rephrase what you typed with no solution. Just Terrible!
First time user, Its a cool video that I made, but it locked up on me, at one time, had hard time trying to find it, when I went to site to log in, I would end up with a blank page, and it wouldn't recognize me or my password, thought I lost my project, After long time looking for it, I found it saved in my Share program, So I was able to finish it, but tried to E-Mail to share, that didn't work to well, cut off heads of pictures & some of the Music, but it was easy to burn to a DVD, then my Video turned out beautiful
Answer: It sounds like the pixels don't support the size you are trying to view it in. Try shrinking the output and see if that helps. If all of your pictures are still blurry, make sure your software is up to date. Hope this helps and congrats on your wedding!
