I am very dissatisfied with my smilebox service, Let the record show as stated in my email on Jun 23,2020, 5:51 AM PDT, I asked to discontinue my membership with Smilebox on the aforementioned date. My decision to discontinue the Smilebox service was that I was unable to use the service when I needed it and more importantly due to the fact that there is a great deal of dishonest(shady) business with the Smilebox company. I asked Narula (the assigned agent) to specify what services were offered to me for the price of $47.88 which my school is being charged for. I wish I were able to upload the screenshot that I sent her which showed the detailed services that would be offered by Smilebox through the Free, Premium or Smilebox Pro Plan package. According to the screenshot that I sent to Narula, I should have qualified for the watermark removal and the ability to add music to my slideshow that I created for our end of year graduation. Ms. Narula, increased my package plan to the Pro Plan of $139.99 on June 23,2020 without my authorization. I never asked her to increase the plan! I specifically asked her to send me a detailed statement of what I would have access to for the cost of the $47.88 ($3.33 cents a month) that I was annually being charged for. Not to mention that the cost of $47.88 was nowhere listed on the Smilebox website as you would have been able to see in the image that I sent to Ms. Narula on Jun 22,2020, 5:53 PM PDT. She took it upon herself to upgrade my Smilebox account to the Smilebox Full Pro access account for $11.67 a month which comes out to $140.04 per year. Then you have the Smilebox premium advertised at $5.00 a month which comes out to $60.00 a year and lastly you have the Smilebox basic which is free. The cost of $47.88 is listed not where on the website. I specifically wanted to remove the Smile Box watermark and to also add Frère Jacques audio to the slideshow and I was not able to do that so Narula took it upon herself to upgrade my service from the not listed $47.88 to $139.99 also not listed. If anything, she should have upgraded me to the $5.00 a month Smilebox Premium plan for the annual cost of $60.00 a year. This is the ultimate sign of dishonesty, I did not need all of the other bells and whistles that Narula gave me by upgrading my plan from $47.88 to $139.00. I only needed to use the service maybe once or twice a year. It is because of this dishonest service that I will unfortunately discontinue the subscription service with Smilebox. I should have known it was a scam when I could not download my yearly statements from my own Smilebox account. You have to go through the Assigned Agent Punya Narula who just so happens to handle all issues and disputes for Smilebox you can reach her at *******@smilebox.zendesk.com. You are not able to see your monthly bill from the Smilebox website. There are no customer contact links directly from the site. These should have been all the signs to show me that Smilebox is not an ethical website. I will be sure to spread the word to other schools and teachers that need a service like Smilebox. If not for the dishonest service, the Smilebox Program would have been a great program to have available for special events, Smilebox would be great if you need to find an easier and more animated way to do a slideshow without using PowerPoint. Well I now know about the Adobe Spark Free SlideShow Service that creates GREAT Slideshows for the real cost of $0.00.
