I called your call centre, and asked them what was the price for the ticket I enquired about and he told me that it is around $970 and that was the cheapest ticket, I said to him I can get tickets online for around $570 and he said no that is not true and those tickets don't exist, I asked him twice and he said no, I did tell him that I was recording the phone call and that I would use this if I could get the the tickets online for the price I said and I did, why are your call centre trying to rip people off and lie, very disappointed with your service, then when I did buy online you charged me $12 USD for a booking fee which was not stated on the ticket, I did call you and you said that you would call me back about this and you still haven't called, I want a refund on the $12 USD, as this was misleading as well. You have my phone number on file, call me to sort this out please.
Tried to book only to be told the fare had changed by $89 asked to cancel and was advised of a $75 cancelation fee. Book with reputable companies, not these thieves.

I would not book through SmartFares again. In our experience this company will make multiple attempts to charge you more money on top of the original deal.
I made a booking from Christchurch NZ to Hong Kong and onwards to Manchester. SmartFares immediately sent me an email asking me to phone them urgently. On phoning, SmartFares said that the price had gone up by approx £300. After a lot of negotiation with me holding my ground and asking for my money to be refunded, SmartFares honoured the original price.
We then realised that we had left my wife's middle name off the booking. Smartfares charged me $84.50 to add her middle name to the booking. It later transpired that the airline would have made the correction for free had I contacted them directly.
SmartFares then emailed me saying that I would have to pay an extra $255 to reserve our seats in advance so we can sit together. When I checked, I found that it's cheaper to do this direct with the airline and you have the option of reserving your seats for free when you check in (though if you leave this too late you run the risk of all the adjacent seats being booked up).
It's worth noting that I found our flights on Kayak, who provided the link to SmartFares. It transpired that I could have booked our flights directly with the airline for the same price quoted on Kayak, and without the trouble of dealing with SmartFares.
In summary, booking with SmartFares isn't straightforward, so I won't be using them again.

SmartFares attempted to get me to overpay for seat assignment, checking bags, and flexible ticketing when I booked my tickets. They charged additional fees for free services without offering any way to get the free service directly from the airline. If you read the fine print you would realize you were being charged for barely disclosed add-on services. Even worse, they called me multiple times on my cell phone to attempt to get me to pay for those services. When they did, they did not disclose that these services, such as "choosing a seat on my flight" would cost me money (more money than what the airline would charge me on it's own, to be clear). It wasn't until I asked the representative on the phone if the service was suddenly free, that they admitted that picking my seat was a paid service. This happened for both picking a seat on my flight, and checking bags (where SmartFares would have charged me an extra $20 to check my bags above the normal bag-check fee from the airline.) Frankly, this should be illegal. If you have alternatives to SmartFares, I would absolutely go with them. Thank goodness I'll never have to work with them again.
When I was booking this flight there were 2 prices, with luggage and without luggage. I have chose that one with luggage. It was almost $80 more expensive, but still in the airport Lufthansa clerk charged me $75 and he told me that I have to claim money back from SmartFares. I am going call and see what they are going to explain. Also I got very bad experience with check in.

The next day you will receive an email to call them immediately because they were unable to confirm your flight.
