I wanted to buy 2 tickets from smartfares.com, which were advertised a couple of hundred dollars less than on the web page of the airline. The process went well until the last step, when I was told there was something wrong with the card used, so I needed to call them. I called and I was told that the advertised price was no longer available ("you understand, sir, the prices are dynamic":-)) and I had to pay $500 more per ticket. I declined the offer... I was the first time when I tried SmartFares and definitely the last time.
I requested for a refund for a family emergency and I didn't get one.
Flights advertised on Kayak then routed to smart fares when i selected the ones i wanted. Booked online then only to receive an email saying the flights could not be confirmed and i had to ring. The lady was trying to find me alternatives and i was having a problem understanding her. After a short while she had offered nothing to sort me out. She said she would then ring me back. That was 26/11/ and iam still waiting 3/12. Very POOR experience
I received an email saying "Your Reservation Has Been Confirmed". Booked my flight I wasn't enough confident about the website, I was a bit confused, but I took the risk and my flights. The only thing was disappointed me as before the booking the price shows £794.00 and after the I booked it was showed £838.76 after took the payment. I was looking for same flight on Skyscanner, Kayak, TravelUp and eDream but I didn't book as it keeps changing flights time and prices. Overall I am okay with the flight timing apart from one direct flight which was Nairobi to Mombasa as I was looking for the time between 13:00 - 14:00, I really don't know why the flight was keep changing before I finalise my booking and when I finalised my booking I realised that the time was wrong for me.
I was quoted a particular fee and when I put my card to pay, I was charged extra fees….I wonder why! When people see a particular fee and opt for it, it is because that is the exact amount they are hoping to be charged, not extra!

I got a call today after I need you. They wanted me to buy insurance. I said no and she kept insisti I have to no and I hung up
No problem with the booking of our airplane tickets. Also received my booking confirmation from SmartFares and the actual airline without any hassle. The only problem, later that afternoon (on the day of paying for my airplane tickets) my credit card account got hacked and a large sum of money taken from my account. As I've never booked with SmartFares before, I checked to make sure the URL was secure (https) but unfortunately still got my credit card details hacked.
They are advertising flights which is not even available anymore and after they have charge your account you will receive the email the flight is not available.
I booked my flight and within 12 hours received an email saying that the flight had gone up by... 100%. I checked the two airline's websites and they had gone up, but by about 25/30%. Smartfare's customer service email they provided in their email didn't work - it bounced back numerous times. It took me finding a slew of terrible reviews and someone disclosing an email that worked before I got a response.
The on line purchasing of tickets was very easy. I hope the rest of the ticket process go this well.

I specificaly noted that i dont want to choose a seat for 80$, no travel insurance or bagage protection, after that i filled my name and billing info. Once i did that there was no double check or any question about the luggage, straight to payment which included everything i pointed as dont want. And im pretty sure they will rob me at the airport for that luggage i got. Customer service also pure bull$#*!
Don't even want to give one star. This is a scam. Booked a flight and thought I'd paid only to receive an email saying I needed to call customer service. They told me i needed to pay double to book the flight.

The next day you will receive an email to call them immediately because they were unable to confirm your flight. When you call them back, they will try to sell you another flight at a much higher price. SCAM SCAM AVOID!

Answer: Yes. They stated because of flight increase they canceled my flights. Then they wanted me to pay a balance of what the new increase was. So disappointing. I paid for four fares. They took the funds from the bank n then canceled my flights.
