I am interested in WordPress and SkillShare provides great course for it. Most ofthe instructors are really good at their job and teaching very understandable for beginners. They always keep content up to date and making new courses depending on the technology. Also there is library in Skillshare.com, which you can find any topic you, want for example integrating PHP with databases or SEO for WordPress. I really liked the variety of courses in this site.
I'm trying to change my payment method for a month! Support is terribly slow (on the photo you can see my chat on e-mail, which is actually only a continuation of it, I'd deleted the initial chat). It has a looot of useful classes of different directions and topics. But support and site performance are low.
They have no phone # to contact. They would not refund me on the day I was charged. So they charged me for a whole year and would not reimburse any of it. The one or 2 videos I viewed were poor quality. The only phone number I found was nothing but a VM that tells you to go online.
Tip for consumers:
That they have horrible customer service and refund policy.

A really big amount of talented creators, but the service is not the best. Videos don't work on Safari and crush sometimes on Opera. Not the best navigation and player (I can't jump on 5sec further/back using arrow keys, it just doesn't work) The certificates are not downloadable

I've switched from free trial to a year membership.
Don't sign up for a "free" trial on this site as you will be charged $167 per year with no way of ending youe subscription short of changing your card. These guys are thieves!
They say the devil is in the detail(s) which is only sought out after the fact. I sought out a membership in Skillshare. A year went by and I forgot about it. I never used it and did not recall nor seek any info about its policy. A year and a day pass and i get an email that my auto-renew went through. There was no email warning me that $168 was to be charged to my credit card. No chance of me to stop it. I immediately contacted the company. The emailed response was quick & clear. Too bad, so sad. You're stuck for a whole year. There is no chance of a refund - even if one day goes by. I never used the service and am stuck for a whole year. How can they get away with that? There's no chance to opt-out if there's no advance notice. It's to the company's benefit NOT to give anyone advanced notice. Those of us who remember an earlier, ethical model of doing business see that the customer rip-off. Upon further research, the company has also insulated itself from legal suits against this practice akin to robbery by automatically adding each customer sign-up as an agreement not to go after them for this practice. How can this be legally tolerated? If a company can be this underhanded, shrug off a defense blaming the customer for a non-receipt of a warning, and bill them with no possibility of a refund, just how ethical is that company?

Education has cross barriers, now borders within Skillshare and now our future is in a clearer path, I can do anything.
I would give less than one star if I could. My experience aligns with that of other commenters. I got caught up in a free trial, but my credit card was charged a day earlier than anticipated, and I couldn't cancel in advance. Customer support was unreachable, three months later, I'm still in ongoing communication with Skillshare, attempting to explain my situation to them. Their response remains consistent: I'm now outside the cancellation window, according to them. I'm genuinely perplexed as to why the company is unwilling to initiate a refund when the error originated from their end by charging me a day before. Is it reasonable for the company to have the flexibility to act as they see fit while I'm expected to adhere strictly to their policies? You will not find a button to cancel, you have to contact them on time, so leave plenty of time to cancel your free trial in advance because it is a hassle.
Tip for consumers:
Be aware of the cancellation policy, because it is not easy to cancel!

I’m stuck with a full year subscription
Unfortunately, the company relies on charging customers even after they canceled their subscription. I have canceled my membership during the trial as it didn't work for me, but they continue to charge my card. When I reached to the customer service, they ignored my complaint, refused to refund me, and instead tried to sell me more services. Really unprofessional, unethical and least sensitive. They don't have any escalation process either. Never gonna use them again.
Be warned, they are relentless in accessing membership fees without notice. Additionally, the membership fees are variable and you could see different pricing from others. The staff that handle membership complaints, and refund process, are trained to avoid and delay the complaints about unauthorized charges by all means.
As for the quality of classes... that's content.
As for the quality of the company... duplicitous.

online classes/skills learning
I started one year subscription in end of 2019. After taking a few classes I found there are not too many contents in there. So the one year subscription is not really worth it. Never mind, since I already paid, nothing I can do. But just last month, when I got my credit card statement, it got charged $99 again for automatic renew. I immediately try to call the company, but there is no number to call. So I submitted a ticket online and request a refund since I haven't even use the site for months. The response is if it passes 7 days then you don't get any refund.
I would avoid such deceptive company which use a default setting to get as much as possible from its customers.
Tip for consumers:
Consider using other sites.

I believe in open education platform, and know that this requires money to function. But if I cancel my account, I should expect that my account is cancelled, that I don't discover that my account has been over drawn while I'm trying to buy groceries for the week. Just like most others here, I'm quite disappointed. I DO NOT recommend this service only on the basis of their shadey billing practices.
EDIT: Skill share did refund my money back within a few days, and we're helpful with that process. I personally don't recommend them to anyone with to access to YouTube and wikipedia, with a self drive to learn. Otherwise they might be useful for you.
They are big time scammers. They would close a teacher's account few days before the payout with no valid reason. I'm a teacher and they scammed me with more than $6,000. Don't teach or support this platform in any way. All teachers who got blocked got the same kind of email a few days before payout.
The courses are very well structured. The quality of content is very good.
Discovery of topics that I want to learn was very good,
After using Skillshare for several years under a monthly plan, they booted me out of the plan without any notice. Then, every time I logged in, I was pointed to a screen where I had no choice but to subscribe to a costly annual plan. When I contacted customer service they were incredibly unhelpful and pretended like I just suddenly wasn't a subscriber anymore and that there was no wrong on their end. I imagine that Skillshare must suddenly want to convert their earlier monthly members who were paying $9.99 a month to yearly members and this was a sneaky, incredibly unprofessional way to go about it. I can't imagine how many members they have upset with this bizarre move.
Skillshare unable to complete a basic software SaaS requirement. I wanted to continue to use my paid subscription however login email address was cancelled due to business sale. Authentication system inadequate and of course Skillshare kept the remaining balance whilst not letting me access account.
Skillshare also unaware of Australia data sovereignty and privacy charter regulations and laws asking customers to send passport to license for verification, even though verified via PayPal transactions and receipts.
The content could be considered okay. But the cancelation process is a scam. It is very hard to cancel your subscription and if you do, Skillshare just re-enables your automatic payments via paypal
Guys, I like the classes on skill share but what the hell, my account has been deactivated and there has been no further contact from the support team other than the initial contact. I mean I like going through the classes here and as far my knowledge I haven't done anything outrageous. I checked credit info and it's alright. What you guys take money from willing customers and butcher them too? The classes are really good, I miss them.
I had a problem with getting access to my account.
The assistant was helping but then suddenly stopped replying. I tried to reach her again and even sent another request through the website, but still to answer whatsoever. Now I can't reached my account which I paid for. Very dissapointed. I used to love this company.
I signed up for a trial of SkillShare because of a creator they had. The course wasn't great, but that's ok. I didn't cancel my trial in time. I had some issues with my account that they were seemingly very happy to help me with at the onset until it came time to actually solve my problem. The service was all sizzle, no steak. They were unwilling to help with a request that is pretty commonly accepted with all saas. They don't seem to value their customers, which is crazy in this day and age with so many options. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Tip for consumers:
If you try this site out and don't like it, cancel days before the trial ends. They have a strict no-refund policy.
Using SkillShare has helped me learn and engage in different topics that I needed for my job. I like that there are sets of courses grouped under certain Paths.
Tip for consumers:
Skillshare became very helpful in learning key concepts for business analysts and project managers.

I have a class on Skillshare.
My class was fine until I contacted Skillshare when they didn't pay me for the first month. They didnt provide a good customer service experience, and I expressed my frustration with this and asked to speak with a supervisor.
Skillshare didnt let me speak with a supervisor, but then I found my class was being removed art the end of the month.
There have never been any problems with my class or anything before, but now Skillshare are removing it, just because I asked to speak with a supervisor about their customer service.
I still haven't been able to speak with a supervisor, every request I made was denied.
So not only are they now removing my course, but all of my students will no longer be able to finish the course.
So their temper tantrum is affecting hundreds of their users too.
I actually want this fully investigated and find out who is responsible for this, or im actually going to seek legal action as im sure there are grounds for a legal case here.
I hope you will take this matter seriously. I will be logging all emails and all communication.
I love everything about Skillshare! It has great content and is very
Structured and the community is awesome!
I was interested in strengthening my fullstack development skills.
It helped to sharpen my skills in an effective ways.
I know that the deadline for free access expired and i got charged without any warning or at least an email or something. It's my own fault for not looking up at least some information about this site before giving them my credit card information.
But! As a student, I don't have a lot of money and would really want to eat something this month that isn't bread and water.
You could at least tell me is there any way to pay this stuff monthly or something.
It would be really nice to at least get some feedback information if I can at least try to cancel that and get my money back because I still have a year left and I haven't even watched any course.
If you're a teacher, be careful! One time they will kick you off from the platform with the following message:
"Upon review, the majority of watchers of your content appeared related to each other with inauthentic account information. As the misrepresentation of minutes watched, reviews, or referrals goes against our terms of service, the account was closed. "
I can with confidence say that I have never been involved in any kind of manipulations with my account and all students and views were acquired exceptionally organically.
Teachers, just stay away! Youtube is better ;)
I expected serious or professional quality material, but instead found the classes I sampled to merely be YouTube level videos. As if some random jackass posts an IPhone video of themself making a cake. Geez, wholly unprofessional!
My son signed up for the free trial and forgot about it, he didn't really find the courses interesting. Two months later he was charged for the premium membership. Luckily we saw it before the seven days period and he contacted Skillshare and they sent an email promptly and refunded the full amount 2 days later..
