I have been a loyal subscriber of Sirius XM for 25 years, and it is with great disappointment that I have finally decided to cancel my membership. My experience with Sirius XM's pricing, cancellation policies, and customer service has been increasingly frustrating and has led me to permanently sever ties.
First and foremost, the pricing structure is misleading. When I initially signed up, I was under the impression that I would be paying $6.99 a month. This seemed like reasonable pricing for access to a decent selection of music and talk radio channels. However, without any clear communication or warning, my monthly rate was increased to $24.99. This substantial price hike felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic, leaving me dissatisfied and feeling taken advantage of.
Attempting to resolve this issue was an exercise in futility. Sirius XM's customer service team was unhelpful, providing no clear explanation for the price increase, or offering a sensible solution. They seemed more interested in retaining my business by offering confusing and quickly expiring promotional rates, rather than addressing my concerns about the base pricing structure.
Moreover, trying to cancel my subscription was unnecessarily difficult. The process was not transparent, requiring multiple phone calls and navigating through various customer service representatives who seemed more focused on making retention offers than facilitating my request. It felt more like an obstacle course designed to exhaust subscribers, hoping they give up on canceling.
In my 25 years with Sirius XM, I never imagined that a service I enjoyed would become so frustratingly overpriced and unresponsive to customer concerns. It seems as though the company prioritizes short-term profits over long-term customer satisfaction.
If you're considering Sirius XM, I advise caution. Be wary of enticing introductory offers, and prepare for potential price hikes and challenging cancellation procedures. There are other music and radio streaming services that are more transparent in their pricing and respectful of their customers. My long-standing relationship with Sirius XM is over, and I hope this review serves as a warning to potential subscribers.
I've been using Siri XM since October 2023. I no longer could afford it so I called and canceled my account. I told them before I did not want no more service and they still continue to take money out of my account and would not refund me my money back, this is not fair to customers In my eyes that is consider stealing
Never worked in vehicle and phone app played same music so frequently,I began to predict next song. ON any channel. Got on website to discontinue. That is I'm possible. You end up chasing your tail. I used my rocket app to do this for me with success. Later I discovered Siriusxm had charged me 199.99 thank goodness my bank knew it was crap so they didn't pay it. Please do not pay for this service. To me me thay are snakes in the grass. Thanks for reading. My one star rating is for my middle finger to Sirius xm.
Dear Sirius thank you for ruining a perfectly great app when you change to the new format. I don't know how one company could screw something so easy up so completely. My saved channels are difficult to find my favorite shows are difficult to find. What moron came up with this?
Yes I was charged $11.96 and got a discount if $9.10 the problem I do have however No email was ever sent showing it was time to either renewal or cancel your membership No they went ahead and took money off of my PayPal card and this is getting a complaint also filed with the BBB on this sorry but this is not how to handle business with a customer any good company like Spotify or Pandora they send out emails to let the customer know there renewal date is about up.
Only found 1 classical music channel, the majority channels are politcal-news. Since its a paid service you would think their wouldn't be ads, but no after every song there's multiple ads. So overall you might as well just listen to normal radio stations on fm or am and they will will probably better match your tastes and be cheaper.
The music is good, but customer service is terrible. Tried to cancel my service, and spent an hour online trying to do. Very slow and agents seem to lack training on what they are doing...waste of time. Called them online and no one could speak English well enough for me to understand.so still couldn't cancel. Finally had to cancel the autopay at my bank. My monthly bill went from 20 dollars to almost 60 dollars with no notification. Do not use this service...these people are not very intelligent, and hard to deal with. Just read other reviews on here and it seems these people are ripping people off by jumping their rates without notification. Scam artists! Do not use their service.
They keep charging my credit card without permission to raise the price! They continue to raise the monthly price, and I just wanted the free trial! Don't ever give them your card info because they just keep automatically charging credit cards and continue to raise the price!
Ok so I bought a new car came with Sirius. I was seriously considering but every person I spoke with their English was horrible. Then I was told yeah I can use a subscription on both my highlanders then told no. Looked at news content is 90% left No NewsMax no OAN So they lost me as a customer
The new app is awful - not user friendly at all. Where is the 'restart show' on Stern? You can't scroll through segments - it sucks. Truly sucks. My favorites are gone. Too many negatives to list.
I discovered that Sirius was still charging me for a vehicle I had traded in. They also charged me for Platinum service that I never authorized. Speaking with employees who do not speak fluent, easily understood English just increases the level of frustration from having to call them in the first place.
I had not planned on cancelling but I got so irritated not being able to understand the rep and then getting a very snotty cancellation rep I decided I had it. They better credit me for those months I was erroneously billed for my previous vehicle.
Enough is enough.
I begged you to leave me alone, but you won't!
I will never be a customer of yours ever again, because of how you won't stop...
Don't call me or email me, and stop sending me ads in the mail.
If you don't stop, I will spread my dislike for your company all over the Internet.
Does this sound like I want you in my life, GO AWAY!
STOP STALKING ME!
I've spent hours requesting Sirius to stop streaming into my vehicle. It takes over my audio system & comes on everytime I start my car.
My free trial/account was closed after 35 min on the phone. But still the service is not stopped Many messages have been sent back & forth.
After a full morning of this, I'm still getting no where.
Says it's commercial free...it's not. I hear ads all the time about upcoming concerts and events. A promotion is an ad...helping others make money. The worst part is the talking. I don't care why or when a song was made...stop giving histories on EVERY song. Some DJ's need to retire. I'd recommend Pandora or Spotify...no commercials if you pay for it and it's just music.
You should respect a customer that cancels because they may come back later. Sometimes people just don't want things anymore. Stop calling me! You guys call me everyday! Even after I bought a new car you told me I would have to speak with an agent to get the 3 month trial again. I'm not speaking to anyone.
I guess everybody has to make a buck somehow. They seem unscrupulous. If you cancel, get a cancellation number in writing. Don't fall for, "OK thanks, your account is cancelled." That statement appears to be just the first step in a long and growling cancellation process.
A despicable company that should be avoided at all costs. They are deceitful thieves that will steal from you. They hide their true cost with BS introductory rates then charge through the nose for crappy channels that do nothing but play on a loop. They should go to jail for theft!
I only use this w/ Android auto - about 6 hrs a month. They have no tier-service, so expensive. You can't cancel except by calling a human with a heavy accent. The app drops connections every 20 minutes or so if I drive long distance. The latest app is a total fluster-cluck.
I have had Sirius XM for a number of years and each year they automatically increase the rate by 250% even though I have it in writing and voice mail of what this year's rate will be. But this makes no difference. They are counting on their customers not monitoring their credit card and so the scam continues.
Wish I could give them less than a 1 star rating.
SiriusXM is a waste of money and an unscrupulous business. They offer sweet deals to get you to sign up then they steadily increase your bill counting on their customers not to notice. Instead of rewarding long-time customers, they penalize you by raising your rates every year and don't think you can easily cancel, oh no they make that very difficult and time consuming.
Answer: Sirius xm seems to have 2 problems. The 1st, regarding the app is the fact that the songs don't line up witn either the car radio or on the app, the titles of songs. For example, say the channel you are tuning into shows the doors "light my fire". You can go to that channel and find that light my fire played 25 minutes ago and there is a different song playing altogether. For whatever reason, the have a huge problem keeping the title of songs in sync with the one that's playing. They also have an inconsistent replay button. Some times it will work fine, but other times it will just play the final few notes of the last song and wastes the "back" button and go right back to the presrnt song which would have played anyway and not waste the back button.
Sirius XM has a rating of 1.4 stars from 120 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Sirius XM most frequently mention customer service, credit card and free trial. Sirius XM ranks 144th among Radio sites.
