TOTAL INCOMPETENCE. Never in my life have I had so many problems with a service as I've had with this company. Customer service is nonexistent. I had a horrible issue with my photos not uploading properly and the customer service rep actually said they were having trouble with their sight! Isn't this what they do? Another rep accidentally deleted all my photos. Really?
Seriously hating on Shutterfly. They have so many gimmicks and "sales". They say you are saving on prints but then charge you an inordinate amount on shipping.
My last order, I specified, one by one, no white borders, no cropping and no Shutterfly filters and they got it all wrong. Their website makes it difficult to see how exactly you ordered your prints, but it is there. So don't assume that you ordered it wrong (I think that's the idea). Shutterfly did make it right and customer service was responsive. However, who needs the hassle? I'm looking for alternatives so that I never have to order from Shutterfly again.
I ordered my cards on November 16... It is not January 25... Christmas and New Year's have gone. Can't use the cards anymore and getting no response from Shutterfly. Do not use this site. They are a sham.

I've been a customer of Shutterfly for years. I think it takes a while to understand their formatting for books etc, but every book I have ever made has been great. I have had a few issues with orders not looking exactly right and they have been willing to reprint or refund. I know they get really busy at Christmas time, this year I didn't get my cards made until December 6th, but they still arrived in time to mail out before Christmas. I've been very happy with Shutterfly for years.
I had used Shutter fly once before, for a calendar, and their service and product were acceptable. I decided to go with them for a much larger and more expensive project, 40-page large format photo books, that would be special gifts for multiple family members. After placing the order and waiting for delivery I attempted to contact Shutterfly about an issue. The message on the customer service phone line said the wait time would be over 30 minutes, so I decided to just do a chat. However, when I attempted to initiate a chat I received a message that the chat function wasn't available. With this lack of service, I can't see myself using them in the future. This review will most likely receive the same standard reply that all the other negative reviews have received.
What a shame. I used to LOVE Shutterfly, got great customer service, and the orders arrived within a week. Last year my order took a MONTH to get here - missed Christmas. This year same thing again - my order is still "in transit" and the chat service has a question of 40 people ahead of me. Shutterfly has placed profit over customer service. The two are not mutually exclusive. I'll be finding another company for all of my photo needs.
When the product ordered does (eventually) arrive, the quality is decent. However, if you experience trouble with your order, or it is lost, good luck getting a customer representative!
We are using a groupon for five books & have been working on them for days! The website is NOT user friendly and as of right now, we keep getting a 500 error saying they are down. Have to finish these by January 1st and we can't even find all five books we had done! We will never use this company again! So disappointing and aggravating!

Placed an order on dec 14th paid extra for "guaranteed delivery" for dec 27th. I'm still waiting and it's passed the 27th and says my order hasn't even been shipped yet. This was my first time using Shutterfly and Im very disappointed and will not be using it again.

I ordered prints on December 2nd and I am still waiting on the order. I needed these for Christmas presents and you would think 23 days before Christmas would be plenty of time, but no here it is the 26th and I still have no pictures. I have called three times. The first time they said they were shipped that was on the 12th. On the 16th he said we didn't ship them till today but don't worry they will be there before Christmas. Here we are the day after Christmas and I have been on hold fro over 35 minutes and no pictures and no customer service.

I recently placed an order for a couple of customized coffee mugs for my father & step mother that were lost in transit and unable to be located. I was heartbroken that this had happened and contacted Shutterfly's customer service via chat. The representative was extremely sympathetic to my situation and assured me that another order was submitted but was unable to ensure the package would arrive before Christmas. I just received BOTH of my coffee mugs in perfect condition with two days to spare before Christmas! Thank you so much for an outstanding job! You have absolutely earned my business and as life time customer!
Annoying photo editor - wasn't sure about the supposed discount but I went with it - photo book should have been delivered 12/18. Today is 12/19 - the tracking hasn't been updated since 12/16. The issue though is that you cannot reach customer service. Chat is unavailable - no way to send a message - I will never use Shutterfly again - at this point I doubt I will receive this gift in time for Christmas. It was shipped 12/12/19 - plenty of time
This site is nothing but a scam they give you codes to get half off but inflate the price to ship or inflate the price of product to still make what the product is normally charged. If you want a better deal go to your local Walmart or walgreens they charge less and you can pick it up usually with in a hour. 50% is not different then their 25% off.
It looks like a lot of people in the same boat. I paid for guaranteed deliver today 12.18, no holidays card. I called and they don't know anything. I received an email saying they will deliver on Friday (what you kidding me? Hanukkah started on 12.22). I called again and they hang on me. After you spend money with photographer and have those beautiful pictures of your babies Shutterfly can just screw with your cards. I'll never buy from them anymore, and also will not my husband who spend lots of money with his bussiness. I am so disappointed.
Seems like my review is much like all the rest. I paid for expedited shipping and guaranteed delivery by today. Order history still said "in process" until today. Now it only shows an order date with no delivery estimate. I received an email today saying there is a delay and it would ship in 1-3 business days. I called customer service to see if production has even started and she told me it was coming today. I had to explain that they sent an email today that said there would be a 1-3 day delay. She couldn't access where it was in the processing stage but then told me she will put in for expedited shipping and a new guarantee of delivery tomorrow. What? Have you even started printing? She can't tell me that. I think I'll make a BBB complaint as this seems to be a deceitful and habitual practice of theirs from reading all of their customer reviews.
After paying 15 dollars shipping to get my Christmas cards delivered in a week, my cards where shipped using a cheap USPS service and never arrived. I had to call customer service 5 times already and I still haven't got a refund.
